I stayed here for 5 nights after having looked at another 15 or so places to stay on this island. The choice on the island isn't great - you either get rooms that are really overpriced or really far from the beach. When I found this place I was really happy with the quality of the rooms and agreed straight away to take them. I was just a stones-throw from the beach and price for quality I found this to be the best place around by far. I got one of the beach cottages I think, the ones right at the front near the restaurant.

I would recommend this place if you are looking for somewhere near the beach which is not in the $100+ per night range.

we were travelling on a tight budget and didnt really care about fancy rooms, i just wanted somewhere cheap and clean to sleep between diving and beach chill time. me and my partner booked our room on hostel world and so did 4 of our other friends we were travelling with. it just so happened our friends got upgraded to a really nice suite later referred to by us as the playboy mansion. It was fantastic. just so happened that as my partner was checking us in i was getting excited about the room from seeing theirs so when we were directed to a little box room around the corner and to the back with nothing but a view of a concrete wall and the smell of bad drains for the same price i wasnt too happy.... but what we paid for our room was more than fair and it included a pretty basic but acceptable free breakfast.
i think if i hadnt seen the 'look what you could have won!' before checking into our room i would have been perfectly happy with what we got for the little we paid for the room as it is pretty much the cheapest you will find on malapascua if your not getting a good rate because your diving with a certain resort, and it comes with breakfast which is a bonus.
o anyways, all in all the room was good and i would happily stay here again, and recommend it to others.
(but try to get the playboy mansion!!)

We went at a busy time of year, so this was the only place that was available for online booking at the time.
The location is nice enough, right on the beach, and the view across the water is stunning.
Unfortunately, the rooms are fairly substandard. They are large enough, but the door to the bathroom was hanging off its hinges, so it was not possible to close it. The room also smelled a little damp. There was no air con, but there was a fan which sounded a little like a 747 taking off, so it wasn't really possible to leave it on overnight. The doors to the rooms do not feel completely secure - we had nothing stolen, but the rooms looked pretty easy to break in to.
There is a bar and restuarant at the resort - they are both reasonably priced, and the food was very good. A decent breakfast is also included.
Staff are friendly, and credit cards are accepted.
Wifi is available from the bar, but doesn't work in all of the rooms.

Room Tip: Avoid fan rooms - fans are too loud!

I got a PHP 1500 cottage, and stayed for 10 nights. They will give you good discount if you do diving with their dive center, which is also good, especially Thanks to Daniela, the instructor/manager.

Pros: friendly staff, excellent location, and clean enough. The quality of the cottage, relative to the price, is good. I saw other budget options on the island which were pretty terrible. This one had constant hot water, 24h electricity, decent bathroom, and free wifi. And a nice terrace where you can hang out.

Cons: a few nights they had loud music playing at the bar next door until late. Just twice, but it was annoying enough. The restaurant is, sorry to say, terrible. But there are plenty of good options within 3 minutes walking.

My companions and I woke up with multiple bed bug bites on our arms, lower legs and feet. Had we not worn shirts and shorts to sleep, I reckon it would have been much worse! We took 2 rooms, the bathroom/CR of one didn't have a door (just a curtain), and the other one's bathroom/CR door was broken (no knob, but seemed to lock on its own). One of our companions was locked in the bathroom/CR for about 20 minutes, until someone from reception had to help her out. Lastly, the staff are quite disorganized and lack training. While this one lady was showing us the available rooms, she couldn't even answer when we asked multiple times for multiple rooms, "So, how much is this room?"

Room Tip: Don't get a Garden View Fan room

Stayed in this place a couple of times and getting the same kind of service. Rooms are of average but location tops since it is has nice and wide beach front. Also, when staying here you don't have to walk far from the docking area of the ferries which is located at the back of the resort.

Pros:
- location

Cons:
- old rooms
- slacking staff
