We went there a couple of minutes ago and nobody entertained us. There were vacant seats but NOBODY offered us those. We waited for about 15minutes but nothing happened. The group decided to leave and transferred to Ging-ging's which has far more better service than this Mabuhay Foods! There's no way we will refer this place. It SUCKs!

We ate at several locations on Malapasqu but returned for several meals here due to its close proximity to our hotel, its prices, quality and service.
It was during low season, so not many customers. We purchased from the menu as for the entire time we were there no buffet was offered. Our food was well prepared, delicious and cheerfully presented. The restaurant is constructed out of native materials and it enhanced the tropical island feeling. Quality was very good, I peeked into the cooking area and it was maintained to a high standard clean, orderly but didn’t have the modern equipment of a full scale restaurant. ( fridge, prep tables, high temp dishwashers, modern grill etc)
All of our orders were prepared fresh and served hot. You must however be patient for items that are grilled as they use real wood coals instead of propane. Yes it’s a bit dim when the sunsets but eating on the sandy beach on the shoreline with a mild breeze makes the experience well worth it. Plus it’s pretty romantic. As other posters have stated it is budget price but high quality dining experience.
In response to some of the negative comments that have been posted not only here but in other eateries in Malapasqua. Yes-insects are part of the experience, just need to adjust and know that ants and other crawling creatures may appear at any moment. I’d rather have a few ants than the lingering smell of some toxic chemical that was released to kill every living creature. You might not find super cold beers or drinks on Malapasqua, electricity may not operate 24hours a day and cuts off at random occurrence. Just ask before ordering if the beverage is cold or not. Most places won’t mind bringing out an unopened bottle for you to inspect. Overall Malapasqua is a lovely Island and the folks there are super appreciative of their customers.
Hopefully all the facilities in Malapasqua were able to rebuild after Yolanda.

We were three. I had the chicken adobo and cannot recall what the other had, but to be honest, for the price we paid, you can eat better on the island. Plus, service was really slow even though the restaurant was less than half full.

I would not recommend this restaurant.

Food have been great if not for their slow service. We waited for almost an hour before lunch was served. Imagine how starved we are and I had to share my food with my bf since his food came in waaaay later. By the time his food arrived, it was no longer appetizing. We also asked for candles to drive away flies around the area. By the time they brought the lighted candles, we were already done eating. Should you still want to eat here, try their grilled squid, sweet and sour fish here.

With prices all hovering in the PhP95 range, Mabuhay Foods attracts a lot of people especially since you can enjoy your affordable meal on the beach itself! The grilled food is usually great and the sweet and sour pork is not to be missed. A cold bottle of Red Horse should do the trick to make this an above average dining experience.
