The perfect combination of laid back atmosphere coupled with a well organised and run dive centre.

Since living in Singapore I have taken the opportunity to escape the city as many times as possible (mostly for diving brakes). This means I have seen a fair bit of what south east asia has to offer, but I must say that Malapascua still managed to surprise me with it's friendly locals and chilled out atmosphere.

I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay than evolution dive resort.
My room was new, clean with hot water and everything I could have wished for. The Staff where all extremely friendly and I was impressed how they made the effort to remember my and my partners names (it is the little touches that make the difference).

The same goes for the dive centre, a full equipped technical dive facility with well maintained gear and gas blending (nitrox recommended for the Thresher shark dives).
The boat men and dive guides are again very friendly and know what they are doing when it comes to spotting the amazing macro life Malapascua has to offer.

All in all I can only recommend this place!

P.S. the food is also top notch... however I must stick with my guns and say "it is not a cocktail unless it comes with a straw!"

Thank you to every body that made our stay fantastic and memorable.

Room Tip: The "garden" fan rooms seem to be newer and are only 15 meters from the beach.

Evolution is the perfect place to relax, dive and feel at home when you are away from home.
The diving centre is very well equipped, the instructors are very professional and friendly. The rooms are clean and nice. The local staff working at the restaurant/bar are always smiling and attentive. The food is good although service can sometimes be slow.
Guys keep it up! You are doing a great job and I look forward to returning soon :)

A really nice place with simple but modern, comfy rooms, helpful and friendly staff and great diving. Situated at the end of the main beach - which is good since its quiet and creates a relaxed atmosphere for those residing with Evolution. Hammocks around the yard perfect for afternoon naps.

Our choice for sure when we return to Malapascua the next time!

Evolution Dive shop has several bungalows and some rooms that are on the same property. The spot is nice, at the end of the row of businesses, and right on the beach. The rooms are small but clean and they keep the property nice. The service was less than stellar, everyone learning your first name and calling you by it but not going a tiny bit out of their way to accommodate needs.

The dive shop is geared towards the younger set and especially tech divers. The two owners were there when we were there and were aloof and not too interested in the lower money groups (fun divers and shorter stays). The dive shop is pretty good except they don't do what they advertise...they anchor in protected areas and they dive masters don't follow safety protocol.

We stayed in one of the pricier new rooms at the back of the property, which were very quiet. This would be super value for money if four people occupied the two queen beds, but a bit expensive for two people, in the context of Malapascua. Nice new firm thick foam mattresses. Shower gel provided. Cool, quiet air conditioning (split system). Alas, hot water was broken in our room at the time. Very clean thanks to attentive housekeeping. They provided two towels per person that were changed daily, and the porch had lots of places to drape our wet bathing suits. There was a room safe, always a plus when one has to carry a lot of cash. Staying on the property made it easy to roll out of bed at an ungodly hour to go see thresher sharks, and to socialize with fellow divers who taught us a lot. Good breakfast options including muesli and fresh fruits.
