Malapascua is definitely one of the musts for diving in the Philippines. if you dive, you must go to Malapascua. I dived with Evolution for 5 days in April 2014. It was excellent, i will be back

Diving. dive operation is excellent. very well organized. i had my own equiplment but many people rented and it all appeared in good shape. Guides are superb. Professional and reliable - they know their sites. we had a couple of equipment melfunctions on the trip (diver own gear, not shop rented) - DMs handled it perfectly while keeping the other divers safe. All the staff and DMs have a great sense pf humor which makes the entore experience that much more fun. i did nitrox course to stay more with sharks. was great. thanks!

Accommodation. i was in the fan room. it is sapcious, clean. with hot water and electricity around the clock. for a remote destination in the Philippines this is great. Big sun/rain umbrella in the room is a nice touch ( we did have some rain showers while there). there is also a nice little padio and a drying rack.

Food/drink. the restaurnat /bar - craic house is wonderful. food was great and in addition to standard menu there was a stream of specials. You do have to pay for water refills. The best part is friendly staff and great vibe in the place. This is where everyone hangs between dives swapping stories and sharing drinks at happy hour. there is good wifi as well

service/booking. i booked my trip at the last minute. David was very responsive on email. i had dives, room, and transport all sorted out within a couple of hours.

typhoon Yolanda. As of April 2014 - in Evolution you would not know there was a typhoon. it is fully on - accommodatins, restaurant, wifi, electricity, hot water. fish and corals are all there. boats too. Of course for the locals it is different - their houses still need repair. But even more reason to come, stay, enjoy and help the local economy!

The DM guide called Joe is the best. Ask for him if you go there. Fab dive experiences! You may stay at another resort and have your dive with Evolution! The food is ok and they only serve western food. A lot of great local food around the area and cheap.

Last minute Chinese New Year trip to Malapascua and have no complaints. Fab, friendly Irish/English owned resort (especially love "the Craic" pub). Super professional dive masters (thresher shark dive with Gino is a must), friendly staff that get to know you by name, personal welcome from F&B manager, good food & drinks (try the "special" brew Poitín), and clean rooms. And all for a great price. 5 stars - defo recommend. Awesome. And yes Malapascua is open for business so get going ...

Best, most well organised dive shop I have ever visited. The local DM's are insanely talented divers and nice people.

Also the rooms were great and best food on the Island at the restaurant. Super nice staff

Not the cheapest one on the Island, but definitely worth it.

We are a family of 4 - two adults and two children aged 13 and 15, and we just returned from 6 days at Evolution Dive Resort. We took our Advanced Open Water course there and found everything very professional. Instructors were good. Support staff friendly and we all had a great experience.

I would guess that one mainly goes there for the thresher sharks and it really was amazing to dive with them. We got up three times for the 5 am dive and it was really worth it. Unfortunately we arrived just after a small storm hence visibility was not the best at the other dive sites.

When not diving, just hanging around at the bar and restaurant, The Craic House, is very relaxing. Anton, the restaurant manager, is always keen to keep customers happy and the food was generally quite good. In fact, all the staff at the resort, from cleaning staff to dive shop staff to reception to restaurant staff were all very friendly and service minded and made our stay very pleasant and comfortable.

Definitely worth a visit.
