“Safe, Social & Simple”
Reviewed 27 August 2014

Situated a very short walk from the main beach, Bounty beach and most of the dive shops.
Budget restaurants Gin Gins, Isla Bonita & of course BBQ are seconds away, and its just a little further to the more expensive places.
The rooms are simple, clean and offer Aircon and hot shower. The addition of a new water tower means the shower is loads better than it once was.
Mostly populated by instructors or trainee professionals its a friendly and social place and its U shape design is also very secure from intruders, the dogs also help to keep them out, the dogs are small and friendly to all guests.
The bamboo beds, which were quite noisy for boom boom have been replaced with solid wooden beds, so that problem is solved.
The owners sell beer, cigarettes and snacks at reasonable prices and each room has a table and bench outside for relaxing.

Everything about the hideout is nice. Owner and his wife are extremely friendly and kind. Room was very comfortable and clean. Dogs look after the compound. You can hear them barking when strangers enter the place. Highly recommended for simple and affordable accomodation. Value for money.

Hilteys was recommended to me as "one of the best budget places on the island". Their prices are low. If you stay for a month, they're very low! But there was nothing 'budget' about my room.

It was a good size, with a comfortable double bed, table and shelves. A refrigerator, a digital safe, a kettle, aircon, fan, separate wc with washbasin and separate shower with seriously hot water. The rooms are spotless (they're cleaned every day), secure and mosquito-proof. Some of the rooms have a small kitchen area where you can cook. There's fast free wifi, a very cheap laundry service, cheap refills for your water bottle, and you can buy snacks and drinks.

The building is a u shape around a grass and flower garden, with a continuous veranda so you can chat to other guests if you wish. Compared to the other 'budget' accommodation I've seen here, there's a wonderful sense of space. And it's just a few minutes to the beach (I've looked at some of the 'high end' resorts where you'll pay five to eight times as much, and the only thing they have that I don't is a view of the sea...)

My hosts, Volker and Margie, were lovely. Nothing was too much trouble. While the power was being reconnected after the typhoon, there was only electricity from 5pm to 7am. So Volker provided a huge flask of hot water for coffee or tea every day while the power was off. Other thoughtful touches included a rechargeable torch, since there are no street lights, and an umbrella for when it rains.

Just be aware that Hiltey's is, not surprisingly, very popular, so if you're coming to Malapascua, you might want to book your room well in advance. You won't be disappointed.

Hiltey's hide out is a warm place to stay. The German owner is very friendly and he takes care about the facility a lot.
Rooms are clean, big enough, with fridges and hot water (for extra charge).
Staff are very helpful and provide guests with good advices. Beach is less than five mints. far by slow walk.
Value for the rooms is more than good consideration when heading to Malapascua Island, especially now, when tourist income is more than demanded in that area due to destroying October typhoon Yolanda.

This is a very friendly and welcoming place on Malapascua island. Although not at the beachfront, the resort has a nice setting with the surrounding coconut trees. The well sized and spotlessly clean rooms surround a little garden. Everything is very well functioning (The owner is German!) and the service is good. It is only 3 min to the beach or to the restaurants. As a previous reviewer pointed out, at this place ecological considerations are followed in all aspects.
The prices are very reasonable for Malapascua. Highly recommended!

Staff are extremely friendly, knowledgable & accommodating.
Rooms are a good size, very clean & set around a small garden which encourages socialising.
Net is great & fast. Great rates also.
They have small snacks on site, all rooms come with optional hot showers & air con.
Would definitely recommend!

The price for malapascua is good, but the rooms are very simple, the location is not certainly good, because you need go between tight 'streets" to arrive and the nigth is imposibilit ( after 06.00 pm) because not lights at "street"

The room, good points: safe box and clean, price is relativity cheap. The room is bamboo and the bed is bamboo to noisy if you are a couple.

The garden is clean and as all the island with coconuts. The own so friendly and help you all the time.

If you re backpacker is excelent, if you like little more> is poor.

Relation price/quaity: good.

The beach is few minutes from the " hiltey s homes" , here is small island so... all is near
