Beautiful location and rooms very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was good but not exceptional. Why breakfast is only available from 7.30 when there are so many golfers keen to start early is nonsensical. We enjoyed the terrace bar but struggled to find seats not covered in bird poo and the bar shut at 8 on the dot every evening. The bar offers stunning views and we preferred it to the bar by the reception area. We were at the hotel during the First Ashes Test and we had to drive to Sotogrande Marina as the hotel has no Sky Sports despite having many UK guests who enjoy a variety of sports. The 18 euro daily charge to use any of the Spa facilities seems unreasonable in a 4 star hotel.
We enjoyed our 10 day stay but feel that much of the organisation of the hotel is for the staff 's convenience not for the guests. No questionnaire was available when we left - don't think they are interested in improving!

We have stayed at this Hotel many times in the past and have generally had a good experience. We had booked again for July and although our booking was confirmed the Hotel then cancelled it just a few days before we were due to fly out. We established that they had accepted an alternative large corporate group booking as this was no doubt more lucrative deal than the one agreed with those of us booked for golf. The last minute accommodation we had to find as an alternative was not of the same standard so in summary a nice resort but with shoddy customer service and certainly no customer loyalty.

One of my best golf experiences of the year, was in Sotogrande, Cádiz. I stayed in the NH Almenara, a beatiful resort with excellent service. My room was facing the golf course, very comfortable and large enough to store golf bags, and stuff for two kids. Breakfast was a bit scarce, but service was excellent during my whole stay. Excellent value for money.

Room Tip: facing the golf course!

I have been coming here for over seven years on golf breaks, for which it ticks all the boxes. It is above all a no nonsense well presented and run hotel which has a good location and has three decent nine hole courses that surround the hotel. A decent buffet breakfast, good sized clean rooms that have decent air conditioning, good double beds and a well equipped bathroom, a reasonable price, what more do you want? The only minus for us was where did the bar person keep disappearing to on the night time. Sometimes we came back for a nightcap and the bar person was sometimes hard to locate. That said, it is only a little niggle on an otherwise decent hotel.

I had not stayed here for some years, and was impressed to see many of the staff were still here. The hotel is well maintained - anddue to "the crisis" is better value than I have ever known it to be! Breakfast is a feast - but I was slightly underwhelmed by the food now served (at lunchtimes only) in the bar/restaurant over looking the putting green. However, the view from the terrace is gorgeous.

It's a 15 minute drive from the beach - but I think most other residents were there for the golf! There is a beautiful - albeit very cold - outside pool and a good spa which was undergoing rennovation. There is a kiddies pool and small playground.

The only sting in the tail - if you order room service, there is a €6.95 surcharge. Pretty harsh when you are in your cassita gasping for that heart starting morning tea or coffee!

Room Tip: All rooms are quiet. The rooms overlooking the golf course also over look the sea - ask for a room beginning with a 6
