I just wanted to share that we returned to El Celler last night for possibly our 7th meal there. As always it did not disappoint. The service was friendly and prompt, they have now added an English translation to the menu, which while not necessary (for us) was certainly appreciated that they went that extra mile.

We had a complementary gazpacho soup and small individual russian salads which were very nice, it wasn't necessary to order a separate starter on this occasion, but in the past we've ordered side salads, which are freshly prepared and more than enough for two people to share. Our mains were a steak cooked EXACTLY as we ordered and a pork steak which just melted off the knife, it was amazing. The dishes were served with a simple combination of grilled asparagus and courgettes, not my favourite vegetables I'll admit, but I tried them, and thought they went with the meat very well. Being English I tend to be a little timid of unusual vegetables, but it is nice to go outside your comfort zone sometimes. We also had a side order of potatoes fried in cornflour, you have to try them they are unique.

On this occasion we ordered a bottle of white because it was summer, a mid priced bottle, not cheap but very nice and on a hot evening a welcome addition to the meal. Traditionally with steak we should have drunk red, but it was our choice and we enjoyed it.

No desert on this occasion, but I'll say that the cheesecake, which IS made on the premises despite what SOME reviewers have claimed, is well worth a taste - but we were full and it would have been greedy to force one down.

A small coffee and a complimentary shot of a herb infused drink I can't name, finished off the meal nicely.

Coming in at around €60 it might seem expensive to some people, but we did order extra potatoes and you are paying for quality ingredients, and there was a bottle of wine in that price, had we not indulged in a coffee and the wine we could have had the meal for two for under €30. Which I consider value for money.

I cannot praise this restaurant enough.

If you enjoy excellent food, simply but imaginatively prepared, you have to visit El Celler.
Wonderful menu, very friendly staff and an excellent wine list.
I started my love affair with this place because of the different beers they sell, but the sight of incredible dishes leaving the kitchen persuaded me to try a meal. I wish I had done it earlier !
What began as a one off visit has now turned into a friendship, not only with the restaurant but also with the team who work there. I am biased, biased towards a memorable night out and stunning food.

I've been a regular visitor to El Cellar since it opened two years ago. I've frequently visited just for a drink in the evening, and always find the bar staff / owners to be friendly. The prices for drinks are comparable to anywhere else in Gandia. The restaurant is located off Prado square which is THE night spot in Gandia town since it opened 6 years ago.

Earlier this year I finally gave in to the wonderful smells coming from the kitchen, and booked to have a meal there. I have never seen so much meat on one plate! The value and quality were amazing. Definitely planning another meal there when I next want to treat myself.
