“Loved our stay”

The Villas have great kitchens and you can always call the front desk to get anything you need that isn't already there. However, the whole place can shake when the buses pass by and Villa 2 is on a corner so it's even louder. We still loved our Villa 4 even though the buses could be heard in the bedrooms. The rooms inside the hotel are much quieter.

We did not really take advantage of everything this hotel has to offer, since we visited friends in Tlaquepaque, but the accommodation was excellent, the location beautiful and very well kept, and we truly enjoyed our breakfasts in that attractive little courtyard served by very friendly staff. We are looking forward to our next time, and then we will hopefully enjoy the good food and actually use the pool and relax in that very attractive area around the pool.

this is the second time we have stayed with QDJ and it has been a pleasant experience each time. The rooms are large and clean, the maid service outstanding, and the front desk helpful. We even had a situation where so friends we dropping us off on Christams eve and unbeknown to us something dropped out of she truck. Christmas morning a person with the hotel found it on the side of the street and knocked on our door to see if we had left it. Outstanding. Any time I am in guadalajara this is where we will stay. The market a block away was also very convient.

The Quinta Don Jose was perfect in all ways. From the wonderful staff, the decor, the comfortable room, the fantastic onsite restaurant, and the resident house cat "Cabbit", I just loved it! The location is perfect for shopping in Tlaquepaque. We also did a side trip to Tonala on market day, Thursday, and it was just a 10 min cab ride.

Room Tip: We stayed in room #1 with 2 double beds. it's right at the tp of the stairs so you get a little...

We recently stayed at the Quinta Don Jose for a two night visit to Tlaquepaque and were very pleased with the experience. We had two separate rooms, both right off of the swimming pool and both quite large, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. In our room, with our two teenage daughters, we had a sitting area, kitchenette, bedroom with king sized bed (plus full bathroom and walkin closet) and a loft area bedroom with two twin beds and a closet. From the moment we arrived we had a great feel for the place...not only the beautiful decorations including numerous fountains throughout, but also the incredibly warm customer service upon checking in. The grounds are extremely well maintained with a wonderful variety of flowers and plants and everywhere you turn you are greeted by the soothing sounds of water falling in some sort of fountain or songbirds singing in their cage. The continental breakfast is served in a cozy courtyard and very tasty, as are the other items they offer on the breakfast menu at a very reasonable price. Some of the best fresh squeezed orange juice I have ever had! There is a great small bar area with a very friendly and attentive barman named Charlie (Carlos). We ate at the main restaurant, Tlaquepasta, a couple of times and were extremely pleased with the food and service, but will cover that more in another review as it is a separate restaurant. The location of the hotel could not be better, truly a block off of the main shopping and attractions of Tlaquepaque. I highly recommend a stay here when you visit the artisan wonders of Tlaquepaque.

Room Tip: Any room overlooking the pool

I stayed sat 23rd -25th Dec 2012. What wonderful hospitality at such a very busy time. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The reception staff booked the hair dresser for me on CHristmas Eve, within walking distance of the hotel, so handy...
Breakfast is served on the sunny patio, the coffee is fab.
My room , suite 5, was spotless, the bed really comfortable, a/c efficient , bed linen crisp and white. Most amazing tiling design in the bathroom, eclectic but soothing. Well stocked with toiletries.
Christmas dinner on the 24th was amazing. The turkey was DEVINE. I'm Irish so this was very important to me.
The entire staff compliment each other with their service and friendliness.
All in all one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in, I'll return.

We spent an afternoon at this charming hotel. Unfortunately we had already checked in to the Westin in Guadalajara so we did not stay overnight. We arrived for lunch but were disappointed to learn it was not open for lunch. The manager saw us outside and welcomed us in. He was so hospitable! He brought us cool drinks and a lovely spot to rest outside on the deck. He asked the chef to start early so that we could have some snacks and an early dinner! We had exceptional food and such great hosts. The hotel is also close to cute shops and the lively centre but it is one block from the noise. We really liked this hotel, restaurant and town and were sad that we had not done our homework and booked here rather than in Guadalajara. Next time!
