We recently enjoyed two nights at this hotel. We chose an off site villa. Although very nice, we wish we would've stayed in the actual hotel. We loved the atmosphere and garden areas of the hotel. Overall, wonderful stay!

For years I have been coming to GDL on tequila business and have never been able to find a small, charming hotel to stay at. FINALLY, I found it at the Quinta Don Jose in Tlaquepaque!!! Not only is the hotel a magical place to stay, but the staff, food, drinks and location are equally as amazing. If you feel like a low key night in, the bar and restaurant offer great food and drinks at very reasonable prices. If you are up for an evening stroll, just walk a couple blocks towards the town center and there are bars and restaurants everywhere. All in all, the best hotel I have stayed at in Guadalajara and I have been to a lot of them.

We've stayed at Quinta Don Jose twice now and can't wait to return again. Tlaquepaque is such pleasure to visit with no shortage of great restaurants and artisan shops. It just feels so good to have Quinta Don Jose to go back to and relax at the end of a day.

Our rooms have been very welcoming with extremely comfortable beds (can be hard to find in Mexico). They are tastefully decorated and fit in with the artist theme of Tlaquepaque with no shortage of artwork and collections to browse over. I also like that they supply each room with a 17 L filtered water container (not just a personal sized bottle of water).

The grounds are also very tastefully decorated with little pockets of areas to relax with fountains, beautiful gardens, hummingbirds (my favorite), a pool and a very cute little bar and extremely friendly staff to tend to your needs.

The breakfast was hot, fresh and delicious. It is the standard fare of some breads and fruit, but for a nominal fee you can add a hot dish. We have also dined in their restaurant, Tlaquepasta, for dinner and the food (we both had the Argentinian steak) was excellent.

We have stayed at Quinta Don Jose quite a number of times and have always enjoyed the hospitality and and outstanding staff. It is located in the center of one of the most picturest areas of Guadalajara. We can recommend it highly, but don't fill it up too often as we want to always be able to get a room.

Room Tip: All rooms are enjoyable and the new Villa rooms across the street are nice if you want to have a pla...

QDJ is in a decent area about 4 blocks from the heart of Tlaquepaque - close to great dining (for non-vegetarians) and good shopping and some interesting history. The hotel is small and clean.

Our room (#16) was spotless, but could use some serious updating; the lounge furniture was not comfortable, but the bed was great; the bathroom was small and outdated - and there is ample space to enlarge it and make it first rate! Hopefully, this will be included in planned "service and infrastructure upgrades".

The restaurant had limited choices for vegetarians, but the food was good. Bar has some interesting holdings on the shelves - take time to peruse before you order your same old, same old.

Outside lounge and pool area is nice, with comfortable lounges. Clientele is varied: wayfarers, families, business folk, destination stoppers all come here, but probably not puffed-up expense account guys. Maybe it's the friendly, helpful staff that makes this combination work. The staff is excellent - front desk, dining room, bar, rooms, kitchen and grounds.

Definitely a place I will keep on my return-to list.

Room Tip: Rooms around the pool might not be the best choice if you like to sleep late. - but if that was the...

Excelent Hotel, very comfortable, very nice decoration, very clean and the service is extraordinary.
I´ll definetely recommend this hotel if you are planning to go to Tlaquepaque.
I didn´t have a chance to try the hotel´s restaurant, but it looks very nice and comfortable.
The pool area is very nice and they also have a very nice garden.
Another great thing is that they accept pets in case you have one.
