My husband and I spent a total of 4 nights at Quinta Don Jose in Tlaquepaque, Mexico, just 10-15 minutes from Guadalajara's historic center. We were delighted with our stay. We travelled with our 11-month-old son, and all of us were warmly received. The inn has terrific common spaces for relaxing (patios, pool, and seating inside and out) and a very helpful staff. Rooms are nice, and generous amounts of purified water are available in guest rooms. Our son enjoyed the people, of course, followed by the canaries and parakeets and gardens outside! Highly recommended.

If it’s "Old World" charm and tropical paradise you’re looking for, look no further, you’ll find it at Quinta Don Jose B&B Hotel.

This charming combination of old Spanish colonial architecture is a delight to the eye, small courtyards and beautiful gardens, a stone fountain flowing into a relaxing pond, mature palm trees and tropical vegetation.

The rooms are individually decorated and have more character than most hotels. Several rooms open onto a patio pool area. Guests are greeted each morning in the shaded brick courtyard with a breakfast buffet of tropical fruits, home baked breads, and more.

This properties great location is nestled in the heart of Tlaquepaque, a short walk to the many reasonably priced restaurants and shopping. Hand blown glass, ceramics, furniture, paintings, fabrics, antiques and so much more. Avenida Independencia, a street closed to all but pedestrian traffic, is a good place to begin. After shopping stroll over to El Parian, find a table, order a margarita and enjoy the mariachi music.

The concierge service is the best as it’s provided by the owners Estela and Arturo and guest service provider Bernardino. Many of their recommendations also offer a discount when you dine. I have traveled the world and have never found an entire staff that is as warm and friendly and provided me with endearing memories as this staff.

After dinner you’ll find quest gathering in the cozy lounge/patio area where you can sit and enjoy one of Charlie’s specialty margaritas and reflect on your day with other guests.

If a memorable getaway of total relaxation and escaping is all you seek then look no further than Quinta Don Jose B&B Hotel.

Just back this morn from 4 nights at the Quinta Don Jose B&B. It was excellent. Staff was all very good, desk people spoke good English and were very helpful. Owners Art and Estala not there when we arrived. but they returned on second day and things even got better.

Be sure to ask Art meaning of Quinta. he told good story on Mexican agricultural history.

Breakfasts were very good. Two hot selections each morn and different each day, nice selection of fruits.

We had 7AM flight out of GDL. Power had gone off one night, so I was concerned about getting up in time if alarm did not work. They said no problem we will wake you at 4:30 AM with knock on your door. and with coffee and roll. And Art had arranged a dependable cab driver to pick us up.

It goes on our short list of favortie places we have stayed.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at this lovely little inn. Without exception, everyone on staff was helpful, pleasant and welcoming. The rooms and grounds were spotless, the breakfasts in the courtyard with hummingbirds flying around memorable, and the margaritas, the best ever! It really felt like a home away from home. We hope to return some day!

I was in Guadalajara alone, on a furniture buying trip, and was referred to QDJ by the company organizing the trip. Everyone at the QDJ, from the owners Arturo and Estela, to the desk staff, to the bartender, to the ladies who made breakfast and cleaned rooms, was friendly and helpful and I was made most comfortable during my stay. The B&B was very well situated - a block and a half away from the major shopping area, so access to everything was easy and close. Carlos makes the best margaritas this side of the Gulf of California! I would not hesitate in highly recommending the Quinta Don Jose!
