“Fantastic hotel!”
Reviewed 1 November 2011

Myself, my husband & 3 daughters (19, 15 & 12) stayed here for a fortnight in August. It is a lovely hotel. Friendly staff, nice acommodation, pretty grounds. The food is very good, whether it be your breakfast with a selection of continental and cooked, the lunch which has almost as big a selection as dinner, or dinner itself with it's daily chef's special. The head chef himself will actually stand and serve this. Although we ate out a couple of times during the day we found nothing to beat the hotel's food. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel and it's very hardworking staff.

When we stayed the 1st thing that struck me was how friend everyone was even tho it was raining we just didnt care the rep that came on the coach at the drop offs was really friendly and made the coach journey brill.
The room was very spotless and the beds were so comfy and we had such a beautiful veiw of the pool and the pool looked really special at night with all the light under the water.
The pool bar was brillaint and nickey the pool bar staff she is brilliant really friendly and warm she is a credit to the hotel and the snacks from the pool bar is really tasty and severed all the time it is open and its always beaut.
The staff in the hotel are so warm friendly and fun to know and the restaurnt is fantastic the chefs in the grande are fantastic and so is the food every time you go in plus the main bar man im sorry i dont know your name but after 4 days you knew the drink orders even tho we had 4 different drinks but bloody hell i caint remember my own phone number and you know our 4 different drink orders we done mate .
Also they have a really really good entertianment staff {thomas, andras and judy} the games tho the day and the enterainment on the night we enjoyed every night they are funny entertaining and so easy to get on with and the night that the greek dancing was on performed by one of the reception staff none the less was amazing it was so good and so brillant.

The bitzaro grande hotel is one of the best hotels if not the best on the island we would stay at this hotel again in a heart beat and loved everyminute and when we go back we wil go back midseason so i can top up my tan ound that brilliant pool.

We're just back from a week at the Bitzaro grande in Kalamaki. The hotel is very clean and smart. The food is very good and varied with different dishes in themes. The staff are extremely polite and friendly. The beds are really comfy too!!!!
I can't recommend this place enough , we were quite spoilt really though as it was the last week of the season so it was quiet and we enjoyed fabulous weather.

GOOD POINTS
It’s fair to say that all the good points that you’ll read about are fairly accurate and we spoke to a lot of people that had returned several times, including 4&5 times! So, for some people it does have lots of good points.
However, you want to hear about the negative side of things as well…

THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW…
• This is not a 4 star hotel … it’s a good 3 star
• If you’re after a relaxing quiet holiday this is not for you. Music from the pool bar is going almost all day (most of the time pumping disco). Even if you want to escape to your room or have an early quiet night, forget it, the entertainment from the pool bar gets louder in the evening and goes on till at least 11pm.
• Unusual that the main bar does not close till midnight (great for drinkers) most All Inclusive hotels are 11pm. That means, however, loud drunk people waking you up next door or walking past your room at anything between 1 – 2am

THE POOL
• There are no cushions or towels for the sun beds around the pool.
• TOP TIP No1. Take your own beach towels. You are not allowed to take your room towels to the pool, so that means the local shops do a roaring trade in towels at 5 Euros each.
• TOP TIP No2. Take a pillow to your sun bed and cover with a towel. Much more comfortable…
• Because this is All Inclusive and not on the beach people tend to stay in the hotel and not go out. So can feel crowded.

ROOMS.
Both sides of the room have plasterboard walls so if people raise their voices you can hear what they say.
Also, in your room you may be lucky (or Unlucky) enough to have extra entertainment. If you have a sexually active couple next door (as we did) you can hear everything that goes on – so, TOP TIP No3. If you intend to be that couple, think of your neighbour and stuff a pillow down the back of the headboard. People WILL still hear you – it just stops the headboard banging…

DAMP BEDDING
I can only put this down to where the sheets were stored, the time of year (mid - October) and the fact that the sun never came into our room, but our sheets always felt damp, although the room didn’t feel or smell damp. TOP TIP No4. If the sheets feel cold use the hair dryer from the bathroom.

WEATHER - October
TOP TIP No5. Apparently October has mixed weather. We experienced 2½ days of continual thunder, lightning and persistent rain. With nowhere to go, the hotel was more like an airport. A few days before we came out there was also a one day storm.

RESORT TRANSFER
USE A TAXI. Don’t pay the holiday company transfer fee, £42 for us (2 x £21) (for a family of 4, £84 that’s a lot out of your budget!!). It’s only 3km from the airport and you’ll get to the hotel first. It will cost about 5 euro each way (about £9.50 total).

Enjoy your holiday…

Second time at the Bitzaro and it was every bit as good as the first visit...if not better. Same all round quality, can't believe that anyone can complain about the food. We have stayed in many more expensive hotels which could not hold a candle to the Bitzaro, well done to the chef and his hard working team, in fact well done to every member of this brilliant hotel.
Have a good winter break...you really have earned it.
See you all in August
