“lovely hotel”
Reviewed 2 June 2014

my partner and I stayed at the venus 22 may 2014 for a week. really enjoyed stay, hotel 2 mins from main strip but far enough away from the noise.. we found the rooms small especially bathroom, but apparantly they do have larger rooms, we were put on the front but found quite UN private as people passing your balcony very near and a little nosiy, we asked if we could be moved and we were the next day to a quieter part of hotel facing the main strip, much better... food was very nice at the snack bar and kitchen in evening, and waiting staff really go out of way to serve and help you very friendly, breakfast a bit basic, buffet style...plenty of bars and restaraunts on the strip and the iguana bar just down the road towards the beach very good service...if you book direct you get a better deal than a tour operator. overall we had a lovely holiday and will be booking for next year but requesting a larger room..

Room Tip: not on the front pool view

Me and my boyfriend (both in our 20's) wanted a nice chilled holiday and stumbled across this as it seemed a good deal! We were worried it might have been too good to be true with all these good reviews. Well the rating this hotel has is well deserved! Staff on arrival are very welcoming and immediately I noticed how very clean EVERYTHING was. Our room was cleaned every day to a high standard and towels were changed every day too. It's in a perfect location set well back from the busier main strip and a 5min walk from the beach. We went in May so it was quieter, we would probably go end of May next time when the weather gets warmer but we still got sunburn :-)
We only booked for bed and breakfast and the buffet breakfast had a huge choice, we went up three or four times most mornings (yes I gained a few pounds that week heehee).
Lovely hotel, lovely staff and an all round lovely holiday. Thank you hotel Venus, we will be back xxx (we will be booking directly through the hotel next time after speaking to some regular customers who said you get more perks included whereas booking through Thomson meant aircon ect weren't included in the price). Xx

We had a most enjoyable holiday in Zante staying at the Venus Hotel, friendly staff and atmosphere, good breakfast despite being the same choice for the whole week, we found the room a bit on the small size but it did not become an issue, the same goes for the bathroom, good water pressure but rather uncomfortable shower area, loads of cupboard space, in any case the pluses certainly overshadow the minus. The hotel only provides soap so make sure you take all your toiletries if you don’t want to pay the typical holiday resort prices in the supermarkets. The Venus is very well located for the shops and restaurants, in a quiet location and not far from the beach. Zante is a very small island but you will need a car to get to all the hidden beautiful spots, 2/3 days car hire will be more than enough, for car hire I can recommend Merlis Car hire, located on the main strip, very good prices and offering FULL insurance. A must to do … take a walk and have lunch at the taverna at the top of the mountain overlooking Kalamaki it is a long climb (1.30 hours) but very manageable and the view makes it worthwhile.

This family owned, family run hotel never fails to impress. We have stayed here many times but our recent visit was the best. When booked direct with the hotel you get free mini safe, fridge and air con but now free wifi in the rooms is just the icing on the cake. Couple this with the super duper comfy beds and you are in for a treat. Everyone who works here seems determined that your stay will be great and goes out of the way to make sure that it happens. Cant wait to go back and can whole heartedly recommend this hotel. Try the Mojitos they are to die for!

Room Tip: Treat yourself to a family suite. On the ground floor with a private garden, sun loungers and outsid...

Just got back from 2 weeks at the Venus Hotel (14th-28th May ). I read about this hotel on trip advisor and wondered if it was as good as all the reviewers said. On arrival we were met by happy and friendly reception staff. Our room 223 was on the first floor, it was clean and suited our needs, it was also cleaned every day and the towels changed. The staff around the hotel were always very friendly, especially Violeta and Maria from the breakfast room. The pool was also very clean with plenty of sun beds, but we never really used these as my Fiancee prefers going to the beach, which is about a 10 minute walk away. The snack bar served some nice meals and the drinks bar served some geat cocktails. All in all i can say we had a really good relaxing holiday at the Venus, and this was topped off by the birthday cake the hotel provided for my Fiancee, as it was her birthday while we were there, i cannot thank the hotel enough as it really made her day.

Room Tip: Think most room are quite good

I stayed at the Venus Hotel for two weeks from 4th May and really enjoyed the hospitality. The room was comfortable and very clean but given that it was quite cold during these weeks I would have liked a room that got some sun for part of the day.

Staff, without exception were friendly and professional. A special mention for Fortis , Angela and the cooking staff in the Venus Kitchen restaurant. I ate there 7 nights out of 14 and was very impressed by the food and service. Very good value, as was the snack bar during the day.

The pool was very cold but I managed to swim a few lengths almost everyday.

The hotel is a few minutes from the strip and a ten minute walk from the beach.

The only negative for me was the barbecue, which was sabotaged to an extent by the bad weather on the night. Not everyone was aware that advance booking was necessary which caused a few problems.

All in all I loved my visit to the Venus and will return in the future.

Nothing more I can add to all the reviews that have already been put on by returning guests.

The hotel is well run, friendly and clean. The staff are very friendly and make you feel welcome all the time. The customer service values of the team are excellent and you won't find a better hotel in Kalamaki; it isn't 5 star luxury but it is the type of hotel that really lets you unwind and recharge the batteries.

Thanks so much to Nick, Spiro and the rest of the team that helped us enjoy the 8 nights we stayed. Would we return? Yes, I am pretty sure we will
