“Brilliant stay again!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 August 2014

We recently stayed at the Venus for the second time. We cannot fault the hotel at all, we stayed on the full board basis, would recommend. All the staff were really happy/polite/welcoming and nothing was too much trouble.
We agree with other reviews regarding the sunbeds, people putting towels out first thing then not using them, this is not the hotels fault but is very annoying.
We will be going back again, nothing else to say apart from what a brilliant hotel!

Yet another fantastic stay at the Venus. We just adore this place so much that our daughter got married there last year. There is nothing negative to say about this hotel, food, staff, prices or service. We always eat at the hotel a few nights when we are there because the food is just lush. What can I tell you about the Greek night? Well the food is served to you at your table and it is just gorgeous. Perfectly cooked and so much of it. The Greek dancers entertained us for something like 2 hours and everyone took part. We had a really good night and got to know a few more of the guests as well. See my photo's and just look at that plate! Room service was as usual second to none. Thank You Maria for looking after us. Everyone at the hotel work really hard to make your stay a special one and they have never let us down. If you read any bad reviews then here about the Venus then please ignore them and read all the others as there are some very picky people who just have to moan about something. God bless you all See you next year.

Room Tip: All the rooms are kept beautifully clean. It all depends on what you like. You can have a view of th...

After visiting this hotel a few years ago as a couple we decided to come back with the family and are glad we did. The hotel is just as nice - if not better- than before. The family go out of their way to make sure you are looked after. Violetta was exceptional with our 3 children especially during hectic breakfasts! The hotel is clean, very comfortable with good food, reasonable prices - which is sometimes rare in a hotel - and good facilities for everyone. I take the previous comments about the sunbeds, its a pity they cant stop that happening but don't let that put you off. Make sure you book direct as it is better value. This is an excellent choice of hotel for any age group , you wont be disappointed. Thank you all for a lovely family holiday .

We arrived early afternoon on the Sunday and went to our room 314 on the 3rd floor with a courtyard and partly sea view.We got the sun in the morning and so in the afternoon the room was a lot cooler than for the pool view rooms. Good standard as previously with good towel and linen changes - thank you Rosa. Good quality at lunch times and thanks to the kitchen staff.Usual early morning sunbed reservations from those believing that it was 'their bed and their hotel' - get a life! Sunbeds frequently 'reserved' by bodies not appearing until early afternoon despite 'promising' notices posted by the hotel. Breakfast ok - noticeable that a lot of guests adopted the all inclusive approach - pile it high and leave it. Cocktails good value and bar nice cool in the evening although if you do not smoke/like smoke then having the doors open with smoke blowing in from those outside is not nice. Went to the Greek evening - booked 4 days in advance - arrived 8pm - 4 other couples arrived after us - they received food on plates - we were overlooked - we received what was left on a selection of serving plates, not a dinner plate, and my wife was very upset.3 star hotel with some positives, very know who you know.

Our apologies for not meeting your expectations regarding the Greek Night.

It was a very busy evening for us and we serve according to table positioning and not first come first serve. Unfortunately at the end of the night the proper plates ran out and had to find alternative plates.

I wish you came to me with your comments so I could accommodate you alternatively.

Even though we didn't stay at Venus (unfortunately it was fully booked!) we used the bar area every night of our stay.

Spiros, Andreas and Angel were very welcoming and friendly, serving up some lovely cocktails!

The hotel itself is very modern, clean and has a nice pool area. Somewhere I'd definitely like to stay.

Thank you boys for being so welcoming, see you next year! X

This was our first time at the Venus hotel and we booked here after reading so many positive reviews on Trip Advisor and knowing it was rated 1# where else would we want to stay?!

Room - We had requested a room which has sunshine in the afternoon as both me and my partner enjoy sitting in our balcony watching the sun go down, we were given exactly that! The poolside room was beautiful, and peaceful very very happy. First impressions of the interior of the room was that it was a little dated, and the towels on the bed were a little grubby with hair and black dirty marks all over them which wasn't to nice however we are pretty laid back and chose to leave them to be picked up and changed the following day and never seemed to have any issues again (just bad luck maybe?) the room being dated however wasn't a huge deal to us as we knew we had booked a 3 star hotel and didn't expect to much, the beds were...AMAZING! best bed we've ever slept in abroad, I was genuinely sad to leave the bed behind haha! as we booked directly through the hotel we got air con/fridge/safe included, air con was a must and it was also fantastic. Room a little on the small side however once again, its a 3 star and how much time do you spend in your room? if your us its just a room to sleep in.

Amenities - We enjoyed nearly 2 weeks of solid sunbathing round the pool and never had any problem getting sunbeds, no matter what time we chose to sunbathe. Yes, there was the odd few who had reserved sunbeds with towels which you always get however there is more than enough sunbeds to accommodate everyone!

Hospitality - We were B&B and breakfast was adequate every morning, reasonable amount of choice and me and my partner never went hungry, however more fresh fruit would have made it that little bit better. Food was also topped up constantly and you were always able to find a clean table to sit at too. We ate at the pool/snack bar 5 times and we would have ate there more if it wasn't for the extra serving of hair we received on 2 separate occasions which was a shame and off putting as the food we did receive in edible condition was so tasty!? first time was in my partners burger and we let it go as just 'an accident' or 'unlucky', second time in my toastie... this time a little less unforgiving, would have also have been nice to have received a sincere apology or a discount of some sort? but instead both dishes were taken away and swapped minus the hairs (maybe the kitchen staff could wear hair nets to prevent this from happening in the future) Which meant we then chose to eat elsewhere for lunches which was a shame really. We also got a slushie every day at the pool and on our last day I went to get our usual and was handed a red colored water which ran out the machine like water from a tap! I said to Maria that it wasn't ready and she said 'Taste it, it is' It clearly wasn't considering we had one everyday for 13 days! when I refused to buy them she seemed annoyed and shoo'ed me off, very rude! We went to the Greek Night and had assumed there would have been enough tables/chairs to accommodate everyone who had signed there name on the sheet at the reception prior to the evening however me and my partner had turnt up to everyone seated and nowhere for us to sit? having eventually got the attention of Maria she got us a table and chairs set up which was fine. The food at the Greek night was nice, not really my thing with all the meats but my partner really enjoyed it! worth the money paid.

Location - The location was perfect, we did a lot of research into Kalamaki before going so knew already it suited what we were looking for. Lovely bars and restaurants on the main strip and only a short 5 minute walk from the hotel to all of it, we ate out for dinner everyday for the 2 weeks and had great food everywhere we went. Also the beach is about a 10 minute walk away which is ideal, everything you need is definitely in easy reaching distance.

Conclusion - We both enjoyed our stay at the hotel, however we couldn't help feeling a little pushed out due to the repeat customers being treated a little like royalty? kisses, cuddles, 'morning, morning, morning' me and my partner felt a little overwhelmed with all of this being the newbies and did feel we were treated differently as if they knew we probably wouldn't be returning? and liked to keep the regulars sweet, we are young and enjoy visiting different places year after year ticking off our world map however we do still have family and friends to recommend places to... The reception staff were so lovely, really helpful and always had smiles on their faces. Nick was also very helpful when my partner had got stung by a wasp and gave us a cream for the sting and made sure we knew he was there if we needed any further assistance, bar staff in the evening friendly too. Overall a nice stay at the Venus, we got what we expected for a 3 star hotel and maybe a little bit more definitely deserves the 4 stars we are rating it, we can see why people do return year after year (all the little discounts here and there are great!), we just like to see the world and experience different hotels and places so not for us really but maybe one day!
The gift on our departure was a nice touch too! and made a nice treat for the plane home :-)

Stayed End of July - Beginning of August.

Room Tip: We loved our poolside room (311) however I'm sure most rooms would have a nice enough view.

I will like to thank Melissa and Ryan for their lovely review.

Yes, being a 3 star hotel we have lot’s to prove and I am glad we had to chance to allocate you in a pool view room since only a double room with a garden view was booked originally.

My sincere apologies for not meeting your expectations regarding the snack bar and I am shocked to hear that on two occasion’s hair was found. This is unheard of since something similar has never happened again. I am very dissatisfied with the snack bar staff for not reporting this to me since this came to my attention from this review!!! The snack bar staff is aware how strict I am with health and safety and obviously knew the consequences.
We had a very busy Greek night and yes at times it was overwhelming but we always try to attend in the best way possible.

The fact is that we have many repeat guests that have been coming for years and some for over 10 years running and as you can understand they have become very attached with our staff and hence all the cuddles and kisses.

Once again I am reading about any issues on the internet rather than have a firsthand experience with the guests whilst they are staying with us. We do have feedback forms in all of rooms to write all these comments as well.
