“Great place and great holiday”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 May 2014 via mobile

This was our first time to Kalamaki and the Roseland hotel which came highly recommended and after our visit I can see why. Lovely hotel, great staff who will do anything to help you, Stephanos the barman was a great and if anyone goes he likes Cadburys creme eggs. The hotel is so clean and in a great location.Breakfast is also very good and plenty of choice.Plenty of room around the pool with loads of sun beds and myself and my wife will definitely be going back and I would recommend this hotel very highly,Also a visit to Oceanic Chill Out bar (walk along the main road to the end and turn right) its down there on the right is well worth it to just relax.

This was the first holiday we'd been on without parents so naturally we were a little apprehensive about the trip. We need not have worried, the hotel staff were absolutely brilliant and couldn't do enough for us (we especially appreciated borrowing the travel scales late at night!). The barman was also lovely and makes a brilliant cocktail!

The room and beds were very comfortable, and kept spotless by the brilliant housekeeping team. There is a hairdryer in the room, and mirrors in both the bathroom and bedroom. For a small fee you can also get access to a small safe, a fridge, and air conditioning. Although the hotel is close to the airport (transfer time of about 10 minutes if you're the first stop), we weren't bothered by noises early morning or late at night. Similarly we weren't bothered by insects getting into the room due to the three door system out on to the patio (one keeps out light, one acts as an insect net, and the other noise reduction, which you can open and close independently).

The pool is a good size with lots of sunbeds and parasols around it, and there's a baby pool and Jacuzzi too. The other items outside include a pool table, a table tennis table, a massage chair, and a small childrens playground. The garden out front has gorgeous trees and flowers that are well maintained by a gardener.

We only had a bed and breakfast package with the hotel, which included a good selection of cooked items (eggs, bacon, sausages etc), and cold items (fruits, meats, cheese, cereal etc) and teas/coffees/juices. It's a self serve breakfast, but the staff are lovely and helpful in assisting you while you're juggling plates/glasses to open the covers that keeps the food warm. There is a snack bar throughout the day that serves a range of items, personally I only had a baguette and drinks, but it was fresh and very nice! While I can't comment on the evening meals served (as we wanted to sample the selection of restaurants down the road), whenever we walked past there seemed to be plenty of people eating in there!

The hotel is a short walk to the beach (which is a protected turtle beach so has restricted times, you can visit from 7am-7pm), and to a road which has lots of shops and restaurants as well as places selling tours, car/quad/moped hire, and a lovely bakery. There is also a great mini golf course (it's a little difficult to find, but there are plenty of signs which lead you to it!), and a waterpark and kids fun park nearby. While the bars/restaurants get busy at night, it's a very relaxed atmosphere.

All in all a very good experience at the Roseland. Great staff, great accommodation, great location. Thank you again to all the staff for giving us such a wonderful experience! :)

Firstly I can only reiterate what Carole J has said in previous review, I believe you were there same time as us! Chose this hotel based on excellent positive reviews already posted and because my husband having had knee replacements, needs flat areas and prefers bath to shower. the hotel was immaculately clean, the staff were the most pleasant and helpful we have ever encountered anywhere, and the breakfasts were very adequate for us. we walked the 35 minute stroll to Laganas beach restaurants most days and spent them lounging on free sunbeds! Drinks and food were very reasonable wherever we went and never had a poor meal. The famous returnee's at Roseland were also very helpful with there advice, and the other visitors during the week really made our holiday one to remember, namely Glen and Michelle and the couple from Sunderland/ South shields area who walked to Zante town, whose names we can't remember so if u are browsing on here remind me please. there were no promenades and taverna's tend to be dotted about not all crammed together in one street. However this is a positive advantage of Zante as it is lovely to see an island such as this in it's natural state. Stefanos!!! loved him, he was such a prime example of the warmth and generosity of all the Greek people we had the pleasure of meeting, from the hotel staff to the cleaners and handyman, and the restaurant staff, oh and the little Welsh returnee man who loved telling us jokes every day. I just can't express enough how satisfied we were with this holiday, we love you all and we will be back x. P.S. Only complaint was from hubby who was very disappointed at not seeing any turtles!!

I have just returned from a weeks holiday with my mum and my sister. Our plan was to have a completely chilled break, and we certainly got that!
The hotel was beautifully clean with a beautiful bottle brush tree in full bloom in the front lawn.
On arrival we were warmly welcomed at the door by the hotel manager who took us to our rooms helping with our cases.
We requested a low room which had easy access for my my mum with ramps to avoid steps.
Our room had a view of the pool area, which had a baby pool, jaccuzzi and plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas. There was a neatly maintained garden with a small play area.

The rooms were cleaned daily, with linen and towels changed every 3 days. Unfortunately no kettle in the room.
The hotel and grounds were immaculate.
Breakfast consisted of bacon eggs, fresh greek yogurt honey, fruit, toast......all replenished regularly. And you could help yourself to as much or as little as you liked. Could not really fault the food or the service.

The snack bar opened all day which had a good variety of food. The evening meal menu was good, but for real greek food it was better to venture the short walk to the bars and restaurants. The bar had a friendly bar man called Stephanos, who was more than happy to invole us on a few drinking games, with scrummy cocktails.

The beach was a short walk away, with plenty of lovely walks to be had if you fancy venturing out a bit more.

I would definitely return to this hotel, as it was one of the best holidays I have had for total relaxation. If you are wanting action and entertainment this really isn't for you.

The Roseland Hotel is at the western end of Kalamaki Strip approx 100m from the main Kalamaki-Laganas road.
The hotel itself is nice with good rooms and has a pool, jacuzzi and bar during the day.
The staff are faultless and work hard to make your stay enjoyable.

A very nice, clean hotel and one which I would enjoy visiting again and again.

Would recommend to older travelers, not many young people around this area,
Basic rooms..not much different to those in cheaper hotels, but very clean! Reception were very helpful and accommodating to all extra needs...Barman was great, delicious cocktails..staff altogether were lovely.
Nice location, about 5min walk into town and around 10mins to the beach.

Having recently returned from another 2 week stay at the Roseland Hotel, it can not be faulted. Have stayed here on many occasions and every time all the staff are always very friendly and welcoming - and make you feel like one of the family. Nothing is too much trouble.
They serve just about anything and everything for breakfast - so much so you are spoilt for choice. It has a lovely relaxing pool area, which also has a small jacuzzi pool.
Thank you all for another fantastic holiday and look forward to seeing you all again soon.x
