We just had a lovely week at the Meandros Boutique Hotel. We were there during the 1st week of May, hence the beginning of the season and the resort was still waking up from the winter. But the hotel was very fresh and clean. We had a huge room with a balcony looking out the back toward the mountains. We found it very quiet, especially when the double glazed doors were closed. One night we left them open and had to close them again because of the noise, but they effectively block out the sound. The room has a fridge and sink with kettle, twin hob and plates, cups, knives forks etc. and a TV. There is a safe box, but it costs €20 for a week. We used it, but I got the impression that the housekeepers were all very honest.

The bed was very comfortable and the mattresses appeared to be new. Sheets and towels changed every other day and floors and bins cleaned daily. The housekeepers did a brilliant job.

The food was good, Nico the chef was above and beyond, I have a gluten intolerance and he spent time with me every breakfast and evening showing which dishes I could eat and which not. After the first day I didn't need to ask, he just looked out for me and came over of his own accord. The waiters were good too, Peter and Daisy were always quick to bring drinks and take away empty plates. Daisy was giving my wife basic Greek lessons each day. We had a good time with them. All the staff were good. One evening, about 10pm we had an accident in our room involving a broken bottle of wine. I called reception and within 5 minutes a cleaner was there with a mop and a happy disposition. She efficiently cleaned up the mess and was gone again within 10 mins. So less than 15 mins after the accident the whole mess was cleaned up.
Another day the wifi stopped working in the rooms, I mentioned it to Dina the receptionist as we went out and when we got back from a walk a couple of hours later the routers had been reset and was working perfectly again.

This hotel is really a jewel. It isn't expensive to stay there, but they don't run it like a cheap and nasty hotel. It isn't the Hilton either, but we felt it it deserves it's 4**** rating. The whole staff work hard to make it a success. If you get an opportunity to go there, please give it a try, you won't regret it. We won't go back next year, simply because there are so many places to visit on this beautiful planet, but we have decided that we will definitely go back to the Meandros Hotel one day.

We've stayed here twice - may 2012 and July 2011 (couldn't go back this far in the dates above) and both times we had a fantastic holiday. Mario and Ernie were both fantastic bar staff and we are still in touch with both now through Facebook. The hotel is lovely, food delicious, and the staff very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be returning one day. :)

We stayed here as a couple for 10 nights in September 2013 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Meandros. The hotel staff were amazing, their customer service skills and second to none, they were helpful and attentive from the waiter staff to the reception staff. As soon as we walked into the main reception they greeted us with a smile and took all the weight off our shoulders, literally, by taking all of our bags to our room where we had been upgraded to a Suite overlooking the pool. The room was huge, the bathroom as soon as you walk in to the right, a kitchen and bar area, a big lounge space with TV, a big bedroom with TV and loads of storage space and finally a big balcony with table and chairs. We stayed half board and really enjoyed the food. The restaurant is on the small side but there was enough choice and the chef at the live cooking station cooked up some nice food. The pool was large and the sunbeds were very comfortable. Also a special mention for the cleaners who did an impeccable job at keeping our large suite spotlessly clean once a day.

We felt the area of Kalamaki was good but not great. A few restaurants/bars had shut down and it was quieter than I had expected but we still enjoyed every night out that we had in Kalamaki. We rented quad bikes for 3 days, to tour the island, see new beaches and to go back to previous places where we have visited in the past; I would highly recommend in doing this as it’s a great way of seeing Zakynthos.

Overall, this was an amazing hotel for our 10 day trip to Greece. There were more couples than families while we were there but it is definitely accommodating for families. I would highly recommend this hotel for everything, the staff treat you very well, the rooms are nice and kept very clean, the food was enjoyable and the pool area was perfect with great views of the Zakynthos mountains close by.

This hotel is fantastic as are the staff and everything about it,
The rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean as are all public areas.
The food and choices are superb in the delightful dining room with a signature dish prepared in front of you by one of the chefs and it was wonderful to sit on the terrace overlooking the pool for all our meals. The weekly bbq is well worth a visit to.
This hotel and everyone involved with it will always hold a special place in my heart as it was to be be the last holiday my husband and I would share together as he sadly died on the flight home.

Room Tip: Although the rooms over the pool seemed very nice(some are suites) ours was down the side with fanta...

I really cannot fault the Meandros Hotel - it is in a great location - sitting at the top of the old road - round from the strip. It has easy access to lots of excellent bars and restaurants - with the Cave Bar just up the hill - opposite from the hotel, though the Cave Bar usually opens from May to September. The Oceanic (Kevin's) is just a stroll down the old Road, as is the Beach, Zeppo's and the Crystal beach Hotel. The bedrooms in the Meandros are really large which does not usually happen in other Greek hotels we have stayed, plus you do not need to pay any extra for the the air con and fridge - most hotels in zante charge extra for these facailities. We were half board, and found the food to be fine, both breakfast and evening meals - we found that there was always something we could eat, and the food served in the hotel restaurant was mostly what you would get in many of the lovely restaurants in Kalamaki - though we did eat out a lot in the afternoon, as we hired a car and toured the island - which is a must see. we love Zante Town - which is great in the evening - really comes alive. All of the staff are very friendly, especially Peter the waiter - who takes a lot of time suggesting great places to visit, in fact all of the staff take a lot of time to speak to you. The bar at night is really good - the cocktails are fab. We had a room at the back of the hotel with a fantastic view from the sea to the mountains, and the sunshine in the afternoon till sunset - it is very quiet at the back of the hotel, though some nights had tribute acts at the Antonis which is virtually next door. Our favourate restaurants in Kalamaki are Michaelos, the Olive Tree, Dias, Heaven's Kitchen, Kalamaki Beach Taverna, the Essence, and we also went to Agios Sosti's - to El Greco, as well as the Akropolis in Laganas. In Zante Town Spartakas is fab for the fresh fish - all places are great value for money. We plan to return early next year to the Meandros with our friends, we enjoyed it so much.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back of the hotel have the afternoon sun
