Since my last review got deleted i shall post again! I want to thank the Argiri for ruining our holiday! Got off the plane at Kos airport and were told that the Argiri had over booked our party of 15. We got shipped out on a coach 1 hour away from Kardamena... In a hotel in the middle of nowhere! This hotel has been booked from October last year and they havent thought to contact a family with small children to explain they were over booked and that they were moving to another hotel. Absolutely terrible, we will be expecting a full refund from the hotel as we have paid to stay in it and never even got a whiff of being near it! Watch what your doing with this one, we got told the owner of the Argiri would come to visit us at the hotel we had been put in to sort it out but funnily enough he could not be bothered driving the hour to come and see us! We have wrote and emailed sunshine.co.uk and alpharooms and also written to Dominic Littlewood on the tv because this was the holiday from hell! We hope to be hearing from u very soon!

The hotel is not in any way, shape or form 3*. It’s basic. I was staying in room 116, on the first floor it had no view at all, neither sea or land view as my view was the roof of the reception area and that was it, non-plussed there. The room is very basic but it’s comfortable. The mattress was comfortable and with the air-con (€5 a day no less) made it even more comfortable. As I was on the B&B package I wasn’t expecting cooking facilities, but no kettle? I asked for a kettle and one was provided without any fuss, can’t do without my morning caffein dose. What was ridiculous about the room was the toilet/shower room. The shower was a joke, a tiny space to stand and the shower must have been installed in the 1800’s when people were a foot shorter because it wasn’t a comfortable fit for a 6 footer. The shower room / toilet I’m assuming was not meant designed as a wet-room but it might as well have been. The bad design and placement of the inadequate shower curtain meant that everything in the bathroom got soaked and I didn't particularly want to be mopping floors, moving things around and drying drenched bath mats during a holiday, moreover it made the area dangerous, so be careful. The walls are very thin and you can hear everything in the adjacent rooms, EVERYTHING!! It’s also good to remember that you’ll be wakened early every morning by the revellers returning from their nights out, doors slamming, screaming and shouting. They’re on their holidays too and that’s fine, but this is a budget hotel and the walls are thin, this is what you’re going to get.

The outside area is well laid out and the pool a good size, it’s clean and not over chlorinated but the constant stream of 80’s rock music around the pool area was too much too bare. I asked three times during my stay to have the music turned down as I literally couldn’t hear the music from my iPod over the din. The music was lowered moderately but then it slowly creeped up again. If you want power ballads and Bon Jovi then this is your venue, forget it if you want to relax. This made the stay unwelcoming and I felt alienated from the poolside area. The only solace was a really good beach just down the road, about 20 minutes walk. Turn right out of the hotel and keep walking, you’re spoilt for choice. But be careful, the hotel is on a really busy main road and if you’re not careful you can get squashed by racing quad-bikers or huge tourist coaches.

Breakfast was included but it was mediocre. Coffee and orange juice and a selection of cereals, toast with ham and cheese, processed not fresh - it’s all a bit cheap. The food from the poolside Kitchen Bar was ok, but just ok. If you’re a foodie like me don’t get your hopes up. Kardamena has some amazing restaurants on the harbour sea front. I can recommend the Aegean Sea Food restaurant and Teo’s Restaurant, both served fresh fish and had daily specials that they will gladly show you before you take a seat, just ask. Kos is a really chilled out Island, I didn’t get to see much of it but there’s lots to do. Kardamena has suffered following the financial crisis, a lot of hotel buildings lying empty and derelict which doesn’t add to its charm but it’s slowly developing again. The sea is beautiful and there’s a real spooky Greek thing going on because of the Islands off shore and the hills behind you, you only get that feeling on a Greek Island, but it’s charming nonetheless

Room Tip: Wifi is intermittent and unreliable and worked when it wanted to.

just got back from argiri, nice hotel we were put in the annex part of the hotel which is a 30 second walk along the road bit of a pain when pulling all your luggage, got to room which was quite small but clean and had a small balcony not that bothered though as we oniy slept in it, was out all day. bit of noise in the early hours from groups coming back from bar street but soon got back to sleep. ac 5 euro a night we didn't bother, hotel pool area was nice loads of sunbeds which are free and also a snack bar which sold food and drink till about 5. obsessions cocktail bar is nice and between 9 and 12 all cocktails are 3.50.the hotel is only 50 metres from the beach and sun beds on beach are 5 euro for 2 people. we went out every night to eat, places I would recommend are fat olive which does traditional greek food also captains which does a variety of different foods. I would go back to kardemena again just a bit further away from bar street.

First visit to Kos, stayed for 10 days and had a wonderful time - Argiri was a great hotel with everything we needed. Friendly (and incredibly hardworking) hotel team made our stay a great one. The hotel was lovely and clean with great facilities - found the first couple of nights tricky to sleep in the very firm beds but thereafter we slept brilliantly - the children didn't wake up one in the night so they were very comfortable. Air conditioning is 5 euro extra each day which wasn't made clear by our tour operator but we had allowed extra and it was well worth the extra cost! Our rooms were on the noisier side of the hotel - its a small road but a main route for tour busses taking everyone to their hotels - no noise issues for us at night as we had the doors closed and the a/c on - the sunshine streaming through when we opened the shutters in the morning was well worth a bus or two. Brilliant balcony space outside the room and the rooms themselves were spacious and comfortable. The fridge and kitchen sink were a bonus and the bathroom/shower were great too. Plenty of space for us as a family of four. reception/bar/snack bar and pool were everything we had hoped for and we all had a wonderful time. A lovely quiet beach is opposite the hotel and there are restaurants and shops within a few steps which were great. We ate several times at the 2nd taverna just a few steps down the road on the left and also at the restaurant Posidonia opposite the hotel. The beach offers great snorkelling and warm sheltered swimming in the sea. The beach is sandy and clean and we didn't have to pay once for the sun loungers and parasols on the beach or at the hotel. A great stay for us that we'd love to visit again in the future - thank you to Costas Dimitri and the team x

We stayed at the Argiri from June 7th to June 14th. This hotel is very clean and has a very good pool and pool bar area. We stayed on a self catering basis but ate breakfast to the pool bar as the food was nice and quite reasonable prices. It is about a 5 minute walk from the town of Kardamena which meant it was quiet of an evening but not to far to stumble to after a few cocktails in town.

The only draw backs for us were the charge of 5 euros a day for the air con (which you need). There is not courtesy room available to shower and change so if you wish to keep your room on after 12 midday on your departure day it's another 20 euros. I thought this was a bit much for a few extra hours so we had to change in to out travelling clothes in the reception toilets (which have no locks on them). The beds we had were not very comfortable and I felt like I'd been beaten up every morning.

Despite these little niggles we had a great time at the Argiri, Kos is a lovely island and Kardamena a great resort.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the pool are better as the ones at the front just overlook a busy road.
