“A Gem! 4 to 5 star facilities at 2 to 3 star prices”
Reviewed 26 September 2010

This hotel has only recently come under the Hilton Doubletree umbrella (formerly the Helona Resort) and certainly meets the standards expected of even the better Hilton resorts.
The hotel is clean, modern, spacious and offers a plethora of infinity pools and its own beach. It is a resort aimed at complete relaxation, including spa, and delivers very high standards of accommodation and facilities. Whilst the hotel was full during our stay, the site is large enough not to notice - we had complete privacy and were able to relax easily. All the staff were polite, helpful and unobtrusive. Local divers, at reasonable prices, can be arranged by ther concierge who also recommend some very good local restaurants.
Rooms are large, airy with the traditionally comfortable Hilton beds and huge bathrooms with double showers. Safes, internet and cable TV are provided. Half of the rooms have unobstructed sea views and many have private pools (shared with the two adjoining rooms).
The restaurant services are very good, particularly the breakfast buffet and it is very generously staffed by well mannered and extremely efficient, predominantly young and multi-lingual people.
This hotel is in a quiet coastal location approximately 3 kms from the bright and boozy Kardamena (taxi Euros 9) and only 6 miles from the Kos Airport (taxi Euros 20). A self contained resort, you could have a very good holiday without leaving the premises - hire cars and dune buggies are relatively cheap to hire.
A great hotel for a short getaway weekend or for a family holiday!

Note: I believe the hotel closes from mid-Oct through to May.

Doing a ' beach holiday ' was a first for me and i wasn't sure how much I would enjoy it....but this hotel ensured that i had a truly relaxing time, just what I was after.
I paid with Hilton Honours points for my stay, and was upgraded to a Sea View room. It was spacious, comfortable with good quality fittings, and a decent bathroom with bath and separate shower. The balcony was nicely furnished and had a lovely view of the beach, and bay.
I didn't use the hotel pool as the beach was only a couple of minutes walk from our room, but it looked very inviting and was well used by other guests.
The buffet breakfast was very good as was the evening buffet on the two occasions we used it. Drinks are a little pricy, but that is to be expected at a quality hotel such as this.
What I think makes this hotel just a bit more special is the staff.....all of them seemed happy in their work and couldn't do enough for you, always good humoured as well as professional.
Others have mentioned individuals and I will too....Andy, the Concierge is a really nice guy , very helpful, Kata at the pool bar was a lovely person, Anna the waitress in the Ulysses bar, always smiling and friendly, and the star of the show for me, Telis the bar supervisor.....great cocktails, always professional but with a truly charming personality that made the bar somewhere you wanted to be rather than just using it as it was there.
All in all I would recommend without hesitation.
Oh, and the Avli restaurant in Kardemena was excellent - we went there 3 times in 7 days !!

We came here with our 18 month old son and found it to be absolute heaven! Everything about the hotel was perfect - we loved our lovely, spacious room with terrace, the food was great and there was always plenty for our toddler to eat, the staff were amazingly helpful, polite and patient, the pool was gorgeous and the beach wonderful.

We stayed for 2 weeks and quickly settled into a pretty idyllic routine. The whole place is spotless and the views of the islands on the horizon are stunning. I used the spa and was very impressed with the treatment I had and with the spa.

We were really sad to leave and I would have no hesitation in coming back.

We recently stayed at the Hilton Doubletree Kos, it was just heaven! No loud noise, so clean, lovely food, helpful staff - Particularly Aristotles the Bar Man and Andy Rider the concierge. Beautiful beach, lovely pool, breakfast is very good, the spa treatments were also very good. The room's were kept immaculate. we were there for our anniversary, and received a lovely trolley in our room with champagne, fruit, wine, chocolates... lovely touch.
Our fruit basket was replaced every day, and also bottled water. I would definitely come here again. Not too far to travel into town on the convenient bus service.

I stayed at this hotel for one week in the September. On arrival they could not find our booking we had booked with Alpharooms. They booked us into the hotel and said they would sort it out in the morning. When we firt booked this hotel it was under the name Helona and the hilton had took it over in between. Our booking was All inclusive but the only offered us half board. So we had the expense of all our drinks.

The standard of the hotel is excellent and the rooms are clean and well presented.

Here are some tips

1 happy hour in the bar is 8p.m - 9 pm wine starts at 14 euro a bottle, coktails around 9 euros. So half that and its not too bad. They have a duo Mrs Martha and Mr Takis who play Jazz/ Blues versions of new and old music. They are very good

2 Taxis from the hotel into Kardemena is 9 euros or 1.80 euro on the local bus. Bus stop hotel next door

3 Taxi to and from airport 20 euros

4 Nudist beach for an all over tan Tropical beach is 20 mins walk along road heading into Kardemena. Signposted when road splits. It has cold drinks at the bar.

5 Food is good quality but to eat out I have been going here over 20 years and The Alvi serves good greek food in Kardemena

I cannot rate this resort any higher. Went for a relaxing week and that was exactly what we got. From the warm cookie and golf cart ride on the 1st night to checking out 7 days later, the whole week was amazing.

The staff were all friendly and welcoming. The rooms were cleaned daily. The food was what you expect from buffet food (we didn't have dinner at the a la carte restaurant). There was always a lounger by the pool or on the beach (being near the end of the season it was quiet). It was quite expensive, but we wanted convenience.

We spent most of the time at the resort, but Kardamena was 45min walk away (or 5mins on the bus) and on our final day, we hired a car to explore the island (as we had to check out at midday and our flight was 13hours later).

Hilton took over at the beginning of the season in May and have made their stamp on the resort. I would highly recommend this place if you want to go to Kos to switch off and relax.

We (me, wife and 1.5 year old twins) spent the last week of August at the Hilton Resort in Kos and it was an amazing experience. The hotel is beautiful, its staff are the kindest people you could meet and they will always serve you with a smile. Although it is located far away from Kos town (30-40 min drive) it is only 5 min from Kardamena village which offers all you need (rest. market etc.). the hotel has over 20 swimming pools and amazing beach. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
