Returned from Blue Dome end of June, What a great place, so impressed with every aspect, all you could wish for in a holiday. The complex is beautifully set out, well kept gardens, never been anywhere where there was such attention to detail. Cleanliness, food, could not fault. Staff were really smart and very friendly. A place my friend and I will definitely return

I would say that both my partner & myself are well travelled individuals and quite picky about where we stay, having stayed at the Blue Domes resort at the end of June it really did exceed our expectations!

Even having read the good reviews on here I am always still a little apprehensive that ones persons excellent is another's poor, however this property really is deserving of its luxury trip advisor award. I have stayed in plenty of so called 5 star all inclusive properties across europe this far out shone anywhere else I have ever stayed.

Rooms were beautiful, which such great attention to detail on fixtures & fittings (an sensor light in the wardrobe everytime you opened it) and a mini bar topped up daily.

The food was amazing, both in the main restaurants and a la carte (I found the reservation system for the a la carte no problem at all).

The staff were super, from chambermaids to all of the front of house to management, nothing was to much trouble.

I travelled with my partner, his 2 teenager children & our 1 yr old son, the holiday catered for all of us, and even with he abundance of pushchairs outside the main restaurant at dinner their was somehow always a high hair available!!

I experienced 1 minor incident during my stay, in that there is no baby changing in the main building, with it being such a large complex it was a bit of walk back to our room during dinner to change my son so I ended up changing him on the floor of the disabled toliet (which I have to say you could eat your dinner off it's so clean). Its a small thing, but in the heat, when your 1yr old is getting in a mess and needs changing ASAP it reallywide get me in a pickle! I kindly asked to speak to the manager regarding my issue, he was more than happy to sit down with me and really took my feedback on board and said he would discuss with the owner.

This is a beautiful hotel and we had amazing family holiday here. I would certainly return and have already recommended the property to several work colleagues who are now looking to go later this year.

We stayed in Blue Domes at the end of June 2012 for one week. We would recommend this hotel. It is great for a family holiday. For us, it was one of the best holidays in the mediterranean. Our room nr. 107 was great - directly at one of the pools, clean and spacious. The staff is trying hard to make you feel good, the food is very good. Downsides: fitness centre is one really small room with one orbi-trek machine and few weights - no proper facility, reservation system for theme restaurants is poorly designed and did not work some times.

After staying in the neighbouring Mitsis Summer Palace for the first half of our holiday, we decided to pay the upgrade fee of 60euro per night per room to go the Blue Domes – definitely and completely worth it.

The resort:
The Blue Domes is one of the 4 Mitsis hotels right next to each other near Kardamena, and is by far the most luxurious and nicest one. A beautiful resort, with more pools than both of us had ever seen in other hotels – and because there is a huge children’s “castle” with another pool for the kids’ club, the main pools were almost empty all the time when we were there, which made it very relaxed. And if you don't like pools, the hotel is right on the beach as well. The sunbeds are also extremely nice – they have mattresses and some even cushions – feels amazing to lie on ;-) The 2 big problems here are however that there aren’t too many of them (this is done on purpose it seems to not make everything too crowded, but a few extra beds would help) and our biggest issue with this hotel: so many people reserve the sunbeds early in the morning. This is so annoying, we woke up at 9am every morning with almost all of the sunbeds already “reserved” (there were plenty free on the beach though). The hotel has a policy against this, but the staff doesn’t do anything about it. We asked if we could just take the towels away if they are obviously just there to reserve space and they said that’s ok, but really they should be the ones removing them…

The rooms:
Because the hotel is so big, the rooms’ locations vary a lot, and some are better than others. We didn’t stay in the main buildings but the ones more in the middle of the resort, which was perfect. The rooms interiors was extraordinary! So beautiful! Comfortable beds, big bathroom, everything extremely nicely designed, relatively quite air-con, flatscreen TV (but only BBC World as an English channel), free minibar, the list of great things goes on.
On our last day we had to check out before our bus to the airport came in the evening, and we were offered to shower in another room they made free for this purpose in the evening before we left, and that room was in the main building – in style it was similar, but everything was smaller and the bathroom was designed terribly – the toilet was right next to the shower and when we showered the toilet got wet and the floor got flooded… But maybe they don’t actually give this room out to guests, we told the reception about the problem and it looked like they would do something about it.

Food and drinks:
Amazing as well! The large (perhaps too large) main restaurant has a big area in which they make fresh foods during all meals, and then there is a huge buffet. Breakfast was great, and dinner too – and it was relatively varied, something we didn’t see in the Summer Palace. We didn’t come here for lunch. Next to the main restaurant there are 6 restaurants next to each other near the pool area: Sushi, “Pita Corner”, Burger bar, German food, Greek foods and a creperie / “pastry corner”. You didn’t have to reserve for these and they had great food a la carte, and were open from 12 – 9pm. Then there were also 4 restaurants were you did have to reserve: Greek Tavern, Italian, Mexican, and Asian. We only went to the Italian, because every morning when we wanted to reserve most were full – that was also a bit annoying. But all of these other restaurants have a really nice atmosphere and very nice settings.

Conclusion:
A really great hotel and we can highly recommend it! The staff were mostly very nice and eager to make our stay as pleasurable as possible. We will most likely return soon! They just really have to sort out the thing with the sunbed-reservations… In terms of guests there, they were mostly British, and then Russian, Dutch, German and Polish – and a few Greeks as well.

Arrived on Saturday 16th June and stayed for 2 weeks. Travelled as a family of three with a baby aged 19 months old.

On Arrival we where booked into our room within minutes! friendly guy on reception and first impressions of lobby area where very good. Walking to our room at night time you see the hotel lit up in blue & yellow lights. The view from the top of the hill to the sea is stunning both day and night.

Room:- Superb and clean, most impressive of room standards and i have stayed at other 5star carribean hotels.. The maid kept the room spotless and the mini fridge stocked daily.

Restaurants:- The booking system is a trial and only because they operate a multi-lingual cpu system, the reservation system is hard work when there are people infront of you taking ages to sort out their bookin. We ate at the Mexican, Italian & Asian specialist restaurants and was very happy with service, food, quality etc etc.

Other Eating Venues: Pita Corner, Burger In & Pastry Corner are very very good and offer a more relaxed dining experience than the main restaurant. The main restaurant is very good with a good choice for adults and the food is of a high standard. Would have liked a few more dishes suitable for young children. The pizza's served here are blooming delicious.

Kids Club:- by far the BEST kids club i have seen. they operate till late a night, run a carousel, give kids fresh popcorn and candy floss and have some lovely people working there.. A new polish girl called Hania (Hannah) and the manager Karen where very very friendly and made you feel welcome at all times.. These two members of staff are a credit to the hotel.

Bars: we mainly drank at the pool bar and again i have to say the staff here are exceptional, Kostas, Karolina, Armado & Miroslav are funny, chatty, friendly and work incredibly hard to make service quick, whilst keeping a spotless bar.. Kostas & Karolina became more like friends and again the hotel is lucky to have them here.

The hotel has so many pools and are all spotess, a little too salty for my liking but that was by the by. The hill from reception to the beach is hard work but the hotel has golf buggies that pick people up who struggle with this problem. I personally think that layout of the hotel makes the venue different than others in a good way.

Negatives or room for improvement:- Cocktails needed a larger range and for the bars to be fresher cocktails than from bottles.. Booking of restaurants should be easier and use of gym should be open and not pre bookable appointments. Lastly the supervisor in the main restaurant that show you to the tables need to cope better in busy times like 7-8pm.

Loved the hotel, loved the weather and loved meeting Kostas & Karolina & Armado from the pool bar.

Book this hotel with confidence...

My friend and i have just returned from a fantastic holiday in Blue Domes in Kos.....what a lovely hotel. The facilities are fantastic and the resort is just amazing. Food is lovely and extreemly varied......get yourself booked into one of the 4 resturants by the beach as they are amazing a particular fav. of ours was the Asian.
A little bit annoying the system to book in for the resturants but to be honest there is so much choice elsewhere why worry!!!
Sunbeds is a problem and if I was to recommend one thing to the oweners/managers it is to review this......there are too few sunbeds around the massies of pools......too much pool not enough sunbed. Added to this the rude 'holidaymakers' who think that a towel on the bed means they dont have to actually sit on it at all aall day meaning the rest are stuck without!!! Having said that......your on holiday is it really worth stressing about??? There are plently of sunbeds on the beach and it is lovely down there so there really is nothing to stress about just a few more by the pool (gthere is the space) would be a bonus. Watch out for those alarm setters to book the sunbeds....we were up one day at 7am and NO sunbeds???
The staff are fansatic - look out for the omlette lady her service is fantastic and i never saw her without a smile!! - and the fact that on our last day we had a late flight (23.30!) the hotel has the facilities for you to use a room for half an hour to get yourself ready for you flight after a finaly day in the sun - this was ideal no need to pay the rather pricey 10 euros and hour for a late check out!!
All in all this was a fantastic holiday i can not recommend it high enough......will definatley be telling all the friends and family.....Enjoy..
