A beatiful hotel in a beatiful location. Placed down in the mountains with a great view. Great food and the nicest, you've got heaps variation: you are not restricted to the one main restaurant.
Beside the hotel itself, what makes your stay worth while are the people working there. Especially the animation team. 24/7 in action and always with a big smile on their faces! Never rushing you to do anything, but always there to make your day. Sportive activities, they are real friendly (especially with kids) and while they are busy all day with us guests....they are practising hard to present lovely evening shows.
All in all: just great

We returned on 16th May following a week in this hotel and were very pleasantly surprised by the overall standard for a greek hotel. The whole hotel is spotless, and staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Food was very varied and well cooked , and it was good that you were shown to an empty table as this meant no traipsing around trying to find one. A la carte restaurants were fine, although we agree that the booking system was a bit of a pain. Can't see what other fair system they could use though. On arrival we were given the wrong room, but the manager soon rectified this and the room that we were moved to was excellent, with a lovely sea view. Beach is not the best - a bit shingly, but clean and plenty of sunbeds.
Although the hotel is on a fairly steep incline with lots of steps and slopes the reception will send down a golf buggy to transport you to reception if needed, which our friends found very useful.
Hotel is a bit far away from Kardamena to walk, about 6km, but a bus pulls up outside the hotel reception to go to town. Kardamena has a nice harbour area, and we hired a car to tour the island, which was very pretty.
Entertainment - we didn't go to any of the shows in the theatre, but the entertainment in the main bar at night was dire. Every night a man on keyboards who never actually sang anything you'd recognise. Even just piped music would have been better.
Drinks were generally OK, wine was good, and the local Bacardi not too bad. They only have local drinks available, so even if you wanted anything different you can't have it.
Sunbeds were very comfortable, although not enough around the pool areas when its busy.
We know people have reported that some things were missing from their rooms, or the food wasn't good quality, but we honestly say that this is one of the best european hotels we've been to, and we've been to a lot of 5 star hotels in various countries. Whatever hotel you go to will have minor issues for some people, but these are usually easily resolved.
Would recommend this hotel , and would return again some time

Booked here for our family honeymoon. 4 adults (husband wife and grandparents) 2 children aged 3 & 8. Definitely not a five star. Problems encountered;
1.Wrong room for 2 nights as this was one room for 2 adults and 2 children, no seperate rooms OR partition which is what we paid extra for. Hotel blamed thomas cook for this. But had upgraded my parents for free to a 2 bedroomed room with seaview which they had actually paid for anyway?
2. All pools are cold salt water which makes your eyes feel like they're bleeding and if your unlucky enough to swallow any you want to throw up in the pool or just end up swimming in peoples spit.
3. Loads of tiles at the bottom of the pool are loose i cut my foot on them.
4. Massive sweaty walk uphill or up hundreds of steps for mealtimes at the main restaurant.
5. Main restaurant like a cattle market fight for your food and huge queues. I think the staff are tight on handing out teaspoons. No such thing as squash, only water, pure fresh juice, fizzy pop or alcohol.
6. My father didnt realise but waiter served him wine in a cracked glass with glass shards in the bottom.
7. We had crepes one evening and as the waitress handed the huge, ridiculous glass plates over my 8 yr olds head the plate snapped in half and fell down his back!!!
8. Mouldy bath towels and others with pubic hairs on were left in the room....supposed to be fresh clean towels.
9. Glass table coverings; lot are chipped and extremely moveable.
10. No tea and coffee making facilities in room.
11. No extra pillows in room as stated there were in hotel room brochure.
12. U-bend on toilet in room leaks so everytime you use the toilet your feet sit in the leaking water.
13. Shower leaks all over bathroom floor. You need 2-3 towels to cover joins near shower to soak up the water.
14. Air con broken.
15. If you want to book at one of the exclusive restaurants near the beach you need to queue up every night at 10pm near main reception at a touch screen computer with everyone else. 3 nights ago I queued up for half an hour and once we booked we realised you only have a 1hr 20min slot.
16. Staff really need to be taught how to pull a pint. Tiny plastic party cups more full of froth or bubbles than anything else.
17. Most valued member of their staff is 2 women who work in eaterie called beeraria 10/10.
So all in all........
Lets just say today i was looking to see if i could get some last minute tickets to go home. I have filled out a 'feedback form' given to me by the thomad cook rep and lets just say if nothing positive comes from this im putting my complaint in writing to thomas cook, mitsis, watchdog, ombudsman/regulator. Really disappointed as I think my Wales camping in August will end up being better.

We have just come back from a week at the Mitsis Blue Dome in Kos. We had a great first family holiday with our 8 month old.

Our room was spacious with loads of room for a cot. Room had a large cot and small single bed as well as 2 other single beds. Ensuite was large and room very clean. Actually I didn't see a spot of dirt the whole week in all parts of the hotel. Room had a fridge with soft drinks and a few beers most days. No bottle opener to open any drinks though.

The food at the hotel was good. Buffet had loads of choice. Outside pizza oven was on the go for lunch and dinner. We recommend the omelet and pancakes for breaky. White wine was pretty good too which was a surprise. I am vegetarian and there was plenty of choice,

As well as the buffet restaurant the hotel had 6 pool side food places that you could eat at during the day and you don't need to book. We ate at all of them and all were good but small portions so just order more.

For evening dining you could book either the Italian, Mexican, Greek or Asian. We ate at the Italian, Greek and Asian. Booking these were a bit of a nightmare as you needed to queue 2 days in advance at 10pm (not so great when you have a baby). It took about 15 mins to queue to book and this wasn't a busy period. This must have changed as we read other reviews saying booking was in the morning. Reception did offer to book these though as we had a small baby but we felt bad so we queued with everyone else,

The Greek was the best as we weren't rushed. We felt too rushed at the Italian and I wasn't impressed with the Asian as I found 2 pieces of chicken in my (asked for) vegetarian noodles! So I wasn't too happy about that. These were good to book as it made a change to the buffet restaurant.

We didn't leave the resort for a week as it was easier to stay there with our baby.

I do not recommend this hotel for anyone with reduced mobility, in a wheelchair or elderly as the ramps were very steep and there were little steps at doors thresholds. You can get to most places with a buggy but someone in a wheelchair would struggle unless they had a mobility scooter.

You could only get wifi in the downstairs bar and not great coverage. It was a shame that the other bars didn't have wifi coverage as it was far for us to get to ths bar from our room.

Our room was the furthest away from the reception and main restaurant but we didn't mind this as we got a bit of exercise walking up the steel hills.

The room didn't have a kettle for making up baby milk but the hotel would bring us hot water when we called reception.

The entertainment was poor but we weren't expecting this to be great. The Mitsis hotesl were located together so I would have thought they could put something special on a few days a week that moved between the Mitsis hotels. Eg fire eating or pool dancing. The entertainment was also next to a rubbish tip that stank of sewage! Also full of mozzies. I caught creeatures on my baby who was a sleep.

The hotel was supposed to be a family hotel but none of the public toilets had changing facilities. There were ledges for changing though so not all bad. A pull down changing table should have been provided though.

Overall we were really happy with this hotel. We would go again and we would recommend this to friends with families.

Room Tip: If you don't like the exercise then book a room close to the reception but furthest from the sea...

My partner and I attended from 7th-14th May 2013.

I have to admit that our initial impressions were not great; as we were checking in there were two power cuts which lasted several minutes and it took us over an hour to check in. However, the hotel more than redeemed itself.

We were upgraded to a bungalow suite which was lovely. The balcony and bathroom were spacious, though the bedroom itself wasn't the largest. We liked the fact the bathroom had 2 rooms - one with a bath and the toilet also had a shower in it.

We had ordered a double room however we had 2 beds pushed together (not uncommon in Greek hotels). The mini bar was a lovely touch - it was re-filled daily with 2 beers, 2 Pepsi, 2 Lemonades/Fantas and water.

The room was always cleaned very well.

Anyone complaining about the food is seriously misguided. I've been to a number of 5 * resorts and this is up with the very best.

Served in the main restaurant. A wide range of fruits, yoghurts, cheese, meat, pastries and bread were on offer. There was also bacon, eggs, potatoes, omelettes etc cooked to order. The pancakes were particularly yummy. There was also beans/veg etc. We sat outside and it was amazing looking over the rest of the hotel and the sea, really special. The coffee was delicious (I am a coffee snob)

Buffet style available in the main restaurant, or you could attend one of the 6 restaurants around the main pool bar (Sushi, Pitta Corner, Burger, Mezze hut, German and the Crepe/Patisserie bar). I tried all of them except the German and genuinely they were all delicious. My favourites were the Mezze hut (where you got 7 different plates of all sorts of yummies) and the sushi. My only observation would be that they could have done with more staff - each restaurant only had one waitress so sometimes there was a bit of a wait.

Either at the main restaurant, any of the 6 pool bar restaurants or the 4 A La Carte restaurants which you had to book the night before. We tried all of them (Asian, Mexican, Italian and Greek Taverna) and again found the range and quality to be of a very good standard. I also found the food to be fairly authentic - e.g. the duck and plum sauce pancakes in the Asian were lovely. I heard some British tourists complaining about the food and being quite rude to the staff and I thought it was totally unfair. Each of the restaurants had a range of starters, mains and desserts on offer and there really was something for everyone. In fact a couple of nights we were unable to book an a la carte restaurant and ended up at the main buffet which was just as satisfying.

There were also ham and cheese toasties available at the beach bar all day which my other half tells me were lovely. Ice cream was available all day and again was lovely.

Ok, this is my one criticism. The beer was lovely. The wine was ok in the main restaurant and the pool bar. But down in the a la carte restaurants it was *definitely* watered down and actually quite unpleasant. The range of cocktails was good (particularly enjoyed the pina coladas). However, the local spirits were not very nice at all. The vodka/gin tasted pretty much the same.

We went up to Zone bar a couple of nights and you could get a vodka/diet coke for 3 Euros which was a welcome change.

Generally very good, and the staff were very helpful. Particular thanks to the catering staff - my partner has serious allergies to peanuts and eggs and this was always looked after. The staff knew about allergies which was very reassuring and they were very helpful.

There was no hairdryer in our room, this was reported to reception and resolved the same day. There was also a problem with the air con which took a couple of days to resolve.

We were able to book a room on our last day in the late afternoon for 30 minutes to have a shower which enabled us to use the pools/beach the day we checked out which was great.

We booked packed lunches for a couple of days and were impressed to be given 2 rounds of sandwiches, cake, fruit and bottled water. This was more than sufficient.

It's obviously difficult catering for so many different nationalities, and the team were very enthusiastic. Not the best I've ever seen but enjoyable!

The beach was shingly but was lovely. We never struggled to get a sunbed, and sunbed hoarding was not as prevalent as at other resorts I have been to. The pools were also fab - yes they are salt water but it was lovely to cool off in them.

I was extremely unhappy to learn that it costs 10 EUROS to use the gym for one hour! I didn't bother, but really felt this should have been included or made clear on the hotel's website!

It was my first time to Kos - would highly recommend hiring a car for a couple of days and going to Kos Town/Kardamena etc. You could also get the bus service from the hotel but obviously you have more freedom going under your own steam.

Sadly we didn't manage to make it out on any of the boat trips - next time!!

Overall I really enjoyed the hotel and will definitely be going back.

My only (Very minor) criticisms relate to lack of provision of some things in our room; we did not receive wine on arrival as promised (we mentioned this to Reception but this was never remedied). We were not given slippers or conditioner (and in fact we did not realise these were standard items until we used a different room for a shower on our last day).

One tip - if you're coming for the UK, shop around. We paid £430 each including flights with Teletext Holidays, some other people had paid over £1000 each with Thomas Cook!!

The location and design of this resort is excellent (but not if you had any mobility issues) - rooms and restaurants are spotlessly clean and overall the staff are friendly and helpful. The food in the main restaurant is varied - always something that one could eat, the small cafes were excellent for a lighter lunch but I wouldn't bother with the a la carte - tedius booking system and not worth the effort.
With just a couple of changes it could be even better - I would suggest that with the abundance of pools, the size of the beach and the size of the main restaurant it would be possible to dedicate some areas as adult only - children screaming in stereo somewhat spoilt my break as did toddlers hurling themselves around the dining room during meals. As this is billed as a spa resort it would help not to have to put up with the bad behaviour of some of the children this despite there being a large children's centre which appeared to go unused.
Finally, there was a mistake with my booking - after a little bit of a problem this was sorted out by the Accommodation Manager who offered a solution I was more than happy with - thank you.
