The place is heaven for kids
My kids love it the kid zone is awesome with carousel an water slides
Also they have small animals zone
Show and activity running nightly
One bad things the hotel have some issued with towels
Hard to get them and for pool towels you need to give 20euro deposit etch
So please make Sure you have cash with you
Beside that all good

We have just returned from our second visit and found improvements had made it even better. I had read some reviews before we left and was concerned about checking in to our room but it was unfounded as it was very smooth. The service again was excellent and the few minor issues I had were very efficiently dealt with by Vitta, Guest relations who was very professional. The food in the main restaurant was of good quality, right temperature and rarely seemed to run out. I would recommend that you sit inside for breakfast and outside for evening meal due to the temperature in the morning.
The four restaurants were very good and the issue of queuing to book last year has been resolved. The waiters and food in the Greek restaurant are excellent so don't miss it..
This year there are two ladies making pitta bread snacks on the beach which was a really nice touch. The entertainment team were friendly but not over the top. Full marks for the effort put into the evening entertainment.
The six daytime eating areas were very good, so make sure you try each of them. Tommy at the pancake eaterie never seemed to stop.
Finally there is an evening bus to Kardamena however you could find it isolated if you wish to walk round a village etc.

Just had 11 nights at Mitsis Blue Domes travelling with friends. Can honestly say its the best all inclusive we have ever been to. Was abit concerned reading previous reviews about overbooking etc as we were arriving late at night but need'nt have worried, we were given the family rooms we booked (stayed in 621 & 623) overlooking a lovely pool with a side view of the sea...perfect! Fridge topped up daily with beer, water, coke, 7up etc. Not much I can add to the last few reviews on here to be honest everything has been said. We ate at all the restaurants & never had a problem booking the beach ones. Food choice is fantastic even in the main buffet restaurant! Never had to queue for a drink.(recommend the cocktails!) All the staff were always friendly & helpful. The whole complex is very clean & tidy with gardens well maintained. Loved the ice cream man cycling round daily! One thing we did have to do was reserve sunbeds before 7am, mainly cos we needed so many, but halfway through our holiday a lorry arrived with new beds which were distributed around the pool areas which was good. The hotel is set on a hill with steps (as the brochure states!) but wasn't an issue for us.....you have to work the carte d'or ice cream off some how!! The wifi is rubbish & not worth paying for. Our teenagers loved the watersports on the beach. Beautiful hotel in beautiful setting. Would highly recommend!

We have just returned from our one week vacation at Mitsis Blue Domes hotel but our mind is still There....We already have decided to come back next year!!!!We stayed at room 550 , a perfect situated bangalow near a pool with its own pool bar.(I hope next year to get a room in the first floor, not that the ground floor were bad as it was very easy to access the pool). The room was spacious and the bathroom was very big , with separate space for shower. The distance between room-sea and room-main restaurant was 5 minutes walk .It was a chance to exercice because with such a variety and quality of food you can come back home 2-3 kilos havier. At the main restaurant you don't know what to choose, very delicious buffet , the view is fabulous , the people working there were very helpful(Lambrini is one off the best) and they did their work very quickly.Mr.Nikos the manager of the restaurant was the right person for this job.If you don't want to wait for the breakfast you have to be there until 9.30.We have tried all the restaurants(except sushi and asian ).Don't forget to book your favorite restaurant 2 days earlier, our 8 year old daughter was responsible for booking the restaurants. The italian restaurant is terrific, don't miss the ossobuco a la milanesa.Mr.Panagiotis was there to help us choose the perfect plates and make our lunch an unforgettable experience. The ellinadiko is very good, the burger in is a perfect choice for kids, the garman restaurant offers tastefull sausages and fricadella burgers. The ouzeri and the pita corner are ok.I have no words for the pastry corner, this is the paradise of sweets. The mexican restaurant is average for our tasty style. The pool and sea bars are a very good choice during the day.I don't know many hotels with such variety of food .
At the beach there is no problem with the sunbeds, there are plenty, the sea is very clean and with many fishes.Bring some shoes for the beach in order to be more comfortable.Near the pools there are many sunbeds but we have to put your towels until 9.00 in the morning. But with this sea who needs the pools?(only the days with wind we prefered the pools)
At nights there is a perfect animation team (21.45-22.45) who presents musical shows, we enjoyed Mama Mia and Grease. There is also a kids disco until 21.45, Rado is the perfect animation leader.
All the personel at the hotel is there to help you and to make your vacation perfect. We hade a technical problem with our car and they did all their best to help us.Many thanks again. And many thanks to Mrs.Argyro Alexandraki at the reservation department.SEE YOU AGAIN NEXT YEAR.

The Blue Domes Hotel is a beautiful hotel, the grounds, rooms and restaurants are all spotless.and the staff work tirelessly to keep it that way.We had read that the hotel overbooks so we emailed them the week before we travelled to confirm our booking when we arrived we had no problems and were given a lovely spacious room with sea view.
I agree with other reviewers that there aren't enough sunbeds by the pools but we never had to go down any earlier than 7.30 and always got the 3 that we needed. There are plenty of sundecks where more sunbeds could be located if only the management would take notice of the reviews . There are plenty of sunbeds on the beach, we never had a problem finding our usual 3. The beach is not sand but very small pebbles this is ok as they don't get every where like sand but they can become very hot in the sun. The sea has a lot of fish that swim in the shallow water near the beach and if you go snorkeling with a banana they will eat out of your hand. The hotel has a good water sport area and the pedalos and canoes are free to use. In the centre of the resort there are 6 small restaurants each cooking different meals ie burgers, kebabs, pancakes, sushi, mezzo and German sausage, the waiter in the kebab restaurant deserves a special mention as I think he has one of the busiest jobs at peak times but don't expect fast food as the chefs have a very laid back attitude although the food is worth the wait. The Animation team also work hard and put on some good evening entertainment, we saw Mama Mia, The Lion King and Grease, as well as been around during the day for different activities, which seemed very popular with the teenagers.
The resort is set on a hillside and has quite a steep climb up to the buffet restaurant and lobby which we didn't mind to much but could spoil your holiday if you have poor mobility although I understand they will send a golf buggy to pick you up if need a lift to the top.
The food in the buffet is very good and there is enough variety to take care of even the most picky eaters., The omelette lady at breakfast also deserves a mention as she is always so happy and cheerful. There are 4 la a carte restaurants, Greek, Italian, Asian and Mexican. Do not bother with the computer booking system (never seemed to work), just see Vita, the customer relations lady, asap and she will sort for you. We only visited the Italian, and was very good.

Overall I think the hotel is 5 stars and i would definitely recommend it to everybody. ps we rented 2 quad bikes from the rental guy below the lobby, please make sure that any quads you rent are to a good standard as the ones we got where a bit dodgy,

Room Tip: use buffet restaurant before 9am for breakfast and before 7.30pm for dinner as after these times it...

We have just returned from two weeks at Mitsis Blue Domes. This is our third visit and each excels the other. From the minute we arrived the staff were exceptional nice to us. We were checked in by Stella and Vasillis and they were both friendly and helpful. We would like to give special mentions to Fatmir, a very kind man and always smiling as he rode his bike with ice creams down the beach. Bukra in pastry corner, we were sorry to say goodbye to you as you are such a nice girl. Vili in the Mexican, you work too hard. Vita from guest relations always seemed very busy but always sorted everyone if they had queries. Ben from the Animation team always playing good music.
The room we had was a family room/ bungalow which overlooked the bottom pool towards the restaurants and beach, it had two separate sleeping areas for two adults and up to two children. It was cleaned daily and a special arrangements of bedding, towels with flowers were always to be found, done by the cleaner while we were out. Our room fridge was always filled by the drinks guy with enough water, beer and fizzy drinks to keep us going.
We ate in both the main restaurant and the bookable restaurants near the beach. All were very nice and such good choice of food there was always something for everyone. At lunchtime we either ate in one of the middle snack restaurants which there was German, Greek, Pitta, Burger, Sushi and pastry corner which were all very good or we would go to the main restaurant for tasty salads.
The bookable restaurants were all exceptional but we especially liked the Mexican and Asian, the food was delicious. The menus had changed slightly from last year but definitely in a positive way, the fried apple in the Asian was out of this world.
During the day we spent most of the time on the beach in our favourite spot. We met some really nice people. Gerald on the beach bar, you are a legend, always smiling and full of chat and always ready to make whatever drink you needed to cool you on the hot days.
The animation team do such a good job, on here you get some negative comments about them and i really dont think that is fair. Rado and his team work really really hard during the day and the evening. They even practice shows during their lunchtime break and after the evening shows into the small hours to ensure they give the best performance they can. We were lucky enough to see the premiere of their performance of Mamma Mia when we were there and it was amazingly good. All the team worked really hard and the Choreographer Vanena does such a good job putting together what is needed to capture such a good show. From the costumes to the backdrop it really was such a good show. I have to mention the other shows aswell though, Aladdin, Lion King and Grease, all good and worth a watch.
We would like to give a very special mention to NINJA, from his Yoga to his Beach Gym to his football he gives it 100% always with a smile on his face and time to chat. We met him last year and he remembered us when we saw him this year again, he must meet hundreds of people but it meant a lot to us that he remembered who we were.
If you are thinking of booking this hotel, do not hesitate, it is an amazing place, friendly helpful people and you could not wish for anymore.
We will definitely be going again to Mitsis Blue Domes, Our home from home!

We stayed at the Blue Domes from 19th to 31st July as a couple. This was our 3rd Mitsis Hotel visit as we have previous been to Corfu and Crete so we knew the "type" of standard we would be getting for our holiday. The Blue Domes is the one hotel I've wanted to go to for ages so I did have quite high expectations.
From start to end of our holiday I cannot fault the hotel and staff. On arrival we were greeted by the manager, a hot meal was available for late arrivals (it was 11pm) which was so welcome and we were also upgraded to a bungalow room. The highlight has to be the drive to our room in the golf buggy - what a ride!!! The bungalow rooms are down nearer to the beach (we had room 563 which was on a corner near the lower larger pool). It was a super room, plenty of space for two, lovely terrace overlooking grounds and pool. The bathroom was huge with a separate shower room so effectively you could both shower at the same time in 2 rooms! There was also a dressing area with double wardrobes which was wonderful! Air conditioning was wonderful (doors had to all be shut to work) and it worked well. The maid service was good - they are very sweet and friendly. The place was always very clean and she did interesting patterns with covers and pillows! Sometimes towels were forgotten but we just rang reception and a golf buggy delivered them to us immediately! It was quite amusing really and not a problem whatsoever - we just referred to it as a comedy maid moment! We left her a decent tip at the end of our stay as they work so hard and are very sweet indeed. The mini bar fridge was topped up everyday - coke, lemonade, water (lots), beers and orangeade. Perfect.
The layout of the hotel resort is beautiful. Wherever you are standing the views are incredible, it is in a fabulous location. The hills at the back are stunning with some wind turbines that are quite fascinating. The resort itself has been beautifully laid out and the buildings, pools and bars are all so nicely designed. The selection of pools is superb, you cannot ever be more than a few minutes from one. The beach too is lovely - easier to get a sunbed rather than pools but we didnt have a huge issue, even in peak time. the beach is a small shingley type which shelves quickly but the water is crystal clear and beautiful fish are everywhere. It is so good for snorkelling and I'd really recommend getting an underwater camera (inexpensive one!) to get some amazing photos. Also you can feed the fish from your hands and they are literally jumping out the water!!
The food in all the eateries was fab. The main restaurant has great choice and always a different selection - something for everyone. I noted they kept a vegetarian selection separate from the meats etc which was thoughtful. All the cooking, waiting and serving staff work so hard in very warm conditions but if you are polite and friendly they appreciate it very much. We found them all to be really helpful and nice.
The A La Carte restaurants are in a beautiful setting near the beach. Booking is a bit hit and miss but its worth persevering! There is a funny touch screen pc just outside the main restaurant. You have to book 2 days ahead and its a tricky process to get times/people/room numbers all in - but if you keep trying you'll get somewhere as we did. The only one that we didnt manage to eat at was the Greek which by all accounts was fabulous. The mexican, italian and asian were all superb with great choices, cannot fault them.
The smaller more casual eateries up in the centre around the round pool bar are also worth a visit. If you work out your time carefully you can cover everything!!! I heard the sushi restaurant wasnt anything special but didnt try first hand. The pitta place was OK, burger place delicious and the ouzeria (greek mezze) was my all time favourite. Little dishes of greek delicacies - gorgeous. I could have eaten there every day! The pastry/ice cream place was always busy and it was lovely to drop in and grab a sorbet on the way to the beach! All flavours were delicious (my waistline concurs!).
Finally the beach bar serves toasties, sandwiches, melon and ice creams all day so you can get a snack rather than fill up on a huge lunch. My favourite however were the greek pies - which are like pitta breads with delicious fillings. Two ladies sit making them all day and cooking on hot stones. They are a must to try!
Drinks are all good. The fanta lemon was super refreshing and the cocktails all pretty good. They are not going to be London 5* bar quality but when you find one you like you will have no complaints! Do also have a cafe frappe - scrummy!
I cannot really comment on the entertainment as we did not have our children with us we only watched a few minutes of a few shows - but they looked like fun and the animation teams work so incredibly hard to keep a vast cross section of guests happy!
Overall if you have mobility issues - as the websites all describe - this is probably not the place for you. There are lots of steps or slopes but it was quite good to keep you moving whilst eating and drinking a lot!!!
Yes there are some guests from other countries that appear to have few manners and are rather beligerant towards everything. However we treated the staff with courtesy and friendliness and got nothing but the same in return. A smile and a thank you - or a few greek words go a very long way.
I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to families or couples as it has so much to offer you just cannot go wrong, unless your expectations are at a stupid level! It is luxury Greece as far as we were concerned and probably the best Mitsis we have been to, so far. The food and drink are very good, the staff are lovely (if you are polite too), the facilities are excellent and the hotel itself very well kept. In July/August it is busy, you will get a little bit of noise and maybe have to queue for a couple of minutes for your breakfast omlette - but relax you are on holiday and so is everyone else!!!

Recommendations:
Pools are salt water so for children definitely recommend goggles. The pools are large and quite cool but when it is so hot it is very welcome!
Kos is known as the windy island (I didnt realise) so be prepared for changing winds and then days of calm! The sea changes daily from flat to wavy to choppy to calm again! It is brilliant for lilos as long as you keep an eye on the kids!
Definitely wear more substantial flipflops as the really flat ones take quite a bashing with the hills and steps in the resort. Especially good idea if you take any day trips to have decent sandals/flip flops (like fitflop types with decent sole).
Take beach shoes - great if you are snorkelling - the sand is hot and there are a few stoney bits in the sea. If you snorkel you can stand on rocks with a bit more grip with these shoes. We found them invaluable.
Definitely do the trip to Nissyros if you can. Standing in the volcano is pretty special (and hot!) with steam and bubbling water holes! Definitely wear footwear that is a little more substantial than flimsy sandals/flipflops - I learned the hard way. Underfoot is hot plus you have to walk down a rocky sidepath to access volcano. Nissyros is lovely - great little seaside restaurants, pretty shops and a monastery. The boat trip takes about 1.5hrs each way and is lovely. We went on Captain Dimitris (shark on front of boat) which is highly recommended and reasonable. Booking is in Kardamena town in the main street (cant remember the company name but they do all boat trips and car hire - excellent and friendly!).
Pirate boat trip on a Wednesday to Kefalos and Paradise Beach was fabulous (same company as above). Worth doing and superb fun!
Do hire a car - one or two days is just fine to explore and it is so easy - one road around the whole island! Kos Town is worth a visit and walking round the castle gives you fab views (3Euro each). Highly recommend going to the thermal beach spa round from Kos Town - its quite a walk up and down but the hot waters are amazing and not many people seem to know about it!
Shopping in Kardamena is good. The bus service is super - and stops just outside the theatre area. Reception can help with any of this. Also taxis are great if you are coming back in the evening at 10Euros its a quick way to the hotel.
If you have a late flight back they do offer a "keep your room" service for 10Euro per hour! For 5 hours this worked out a little pricey - so they instead gave us the option of using a shower and room at a given time to freshen up ready to catch the coach to the airport. This worked perfectly and we had no real need to keep our room having done this.
In terms of rooms - all of them seem great to be honest. Down by the beach was quite calm and the bungalows are lovely. The duplex family rooms looked fabulous too. Everywhere you have a pool nearby so it's very even for all rooms.
Finally - wifi - this is free around the reception area. Best room is the bar underneath reception (1 floor down). They have comfy sofas and the wifi during the day isnt too slow. At night it gets very sluggish due to heavy use (lots of teens!!!). You can pay for wifi access in your room which for 10 days was 40Euros for 2 devices. We could have done this but to be honest its your holidays so unless you really need it surely its time to switch off!!!

Room Tip: All rooms are fab. Room 563 ground floor bungalow on a corner was great to watch the world go by. Al...
