I stayed at the Aegean village with my wife and ten year old daughter in July 2011. All I can really say is that it was a lovely place to stay. The staff were very helpful, food was excellent and the hotel was first rate. The Animation team kept our daughter entertained for hours each day, which meant my wife and I could take time out to relax. Cleanliness was again first rate. If your not the energetic type, try to get a room on one of the lower levels. If you don't mind a trek stay at the higher levels as the views are impressive. In any case a regular shuttle will transport you to your accommodation any time of the day or night, A car is great to get around this small island as there are some fantastic beaches. Magic beach was superb, but it might be worth noting that a section of it is nudist. Great taverna on the cliff tops is worth a visit. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable experience and would recommend to anyone, with or without children

Room Tip: If your reasonably fit opt for a room at high level.

Sorry I am a bit late doing my review.. traveled end Sept 2011

We returned to the Aegean Village this year knowing the hotel had had a re-furb since our last visit, but where not prepared for what we found.

we opened the door to our room to find not just a re-furb but a complete makeover, gone was the Greek village style furniture and in with the International modern look, but not just the furniture, new windows & doors, new tiles to the floor, and a complete new bathroom, But not only our room, but as we walked around the hotel we didn’t find one area which had not seen some form of re-furbishment,

Housekeeping we could not fault, everywhere was clean and inviting,

Food is still a mix of Greek and international with ample choice, well prepared and presented

location of course hasn't changed, its still 1.5k to the centre of the village with stupendous views across the Aegean sea to Nissaros.

The staff are well chosen, with a mix of many old friends and new, all smartly turned out and professional at their respective jobs.

entertainment... the Hotel has an animation team catering for children and adults, they appeared to work hard and enjoy their jobs [cant comment on actual entertainment as we did not partake]

This establishment doesn’t have a star rating as it is an apart-hotel [grade A],tour operators offer it as 4 to 5 on their own rating scale.Having been to many hotels around Greece I would have to say it is on par with most of the 4+ and 5 star hotels we have used .

Being Regular travellers to Greece we can highly recommend this hotel, and look forward to further visits in the future..

Room Tip: All rooms are similar in style and most have a great view [if you want a view ask for a room above 3...

Stayed at the Aegean Village in July 2011with 2 of my friends. We arrived late at night and read in reviews to get a taxi rather than a transfer from the Airport which was great advice. It was cheaper than the transfers and we beat the rush of people at reception checking in. We were absolutely delighted by the rooms. As we booked last minute we managed to get a great price and the rooms were large, clean and stylish. Also plenty of mirror space which is handy when there are three girls sharing a room.

We were in the 500s so quite high up, great views but it was so hot we only attempted at walking up once, the shuttles were regular and Nicolas the driver was lovely and very helpful.
The staff were great and we got to know alot of them by name by the end of the week. They were great at getting everyone involved and we ended up doing the water Aerobics everyday and joining in the Opa Opa which was on everyday. The evening entertainment was great aswell, we joined in in the dancing and the music and pub quiz, also Greek night was great fun. Tavi and the waiters were all very friendly and we were very sad to leave at the end.

As we were on a girls holiday we were happy to be close to the bars and clubs , most nights we walked back late at night/early morning as we felt it was very safe and a nice walk along the beach. The night receptionist always called our taxis for us and was so lovely and friendly.

The hotel is also very family friendly, there were alot of young children playing around the pool and the staff were absolutely fantastic in keeping them entertained. It was very quiet in our rooms and never had any noise problems. The pool was huge aswell with a great atmosphere.

The food was great, we ate so much, great fresh bread, soups , salads, meats, hot foods and a huge selection of desserts, there was so much choice. Also it was my friends birthday when we were out there and the manager brought over a bottle of champagne for all of us on ice which was so nice of him. The bar had a great atmosphere and GREAT cocktails, which were pretty lethal.

Also very close to Kos Town on the bus which was cheap and air conditioned(thank god) which i definitely recommend as the old town has alot of nice buildings and shops to have a wander round.

I could not recommend this hotel more. we had the absolute time of our lives and could not complain about one thing. A beautiful hotel with great staff and next to the sea which was nice and clear with a selection of water sports. Great atmosphere and am looking forward to returning in the future.

This is a really nice hotel. The rooms are a decent size with modern furnishing. All the staff are friendly and helpful. There is plenty of room around the pool or if you prefer beach is at the bottom of the hotel drive with watersports available (2 min walk).
The food is good, breakfast has a good choice, however after a week dinner did become abit samey.
Altough this hotel is built on a hill/mountain the rooms towards the top can be abit of a treak, however there is a complimentary minibus to take you to your room (available 24/7).
This hotel is about a 20 minute walk to resturants/bars and clubs. There is a path along the road and fairly well lit. There isnt much traffic along the road either. There is a good choice of places to go in the evening, also the hotel does provide entertainment and disco.
My partner and I had a fantastic holiday here. The Island is beautiful, without much traffic. We did a couple of trips out. going around the other hotels, this is easliy the nicest and most unique Hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a low numbered hotel room

Nice hotel, food very good (not always hot) great choice though with excellent desserts, you WILL need to diet after staying here. Pool area good with separate childrens pool, nice snack bar for lunch (if you have any room!). Staff very friendly, can't understand previous comments unless there has been a change in staff. Stayed in the 400's a bit high up and needed the bus at times but a nice walk down. Rooms can be noisy depending on your neighbours, heard a few people complaining about inconsiderate guests. Stay in the hotel for entertainment in the evenings Kardemena is an absolute dump and is not fit to be called a resort.

Stayed in this hotel for one week in October. The Hotel and rooms are very clean and pleasant with nice balconies and views (particularly on the higher levels) The restaurant is massive and a bit like a canteen and the food was a bit repetetive. I have food allergies and found the food quite restrictive as the staff didnt seem to understand the meaning of gluten free. The staff in the restaurant where quite surly at the beginning of the week and only seemed to be pleasant on the last day when they where hoping for a tip. I only had lunch at the hotel on the first day as it was much nicer to go into Kardamena and sample the food on the harbour and the lunch time menu was pretty much the same as the evening menu Lots of Germans in this hotel which can be a bit off putting for British people as they are certainly not as friendly as the Brits! The mini market at the hotel is very expensive and I would have really appreciated a kettle in the room which was the only downfall of the accomadation. Taxi into Kardamena is 7 euros which I think is expensive as it is only a 15 minute walk but not a walk I would like to do at night as the pavements are decidedly unsafe unless you are watching where you are going. I would definetly recommend a boat trip to Nissyros which is a lovely island and walking on the Caldera of the volcano was fascinating if a little scary!

Room Tip: Rooms on higher levels have better views and 24 hour mini bus is available to get to and from rooms...
