“Great hotel, good food and lovely pool area”
Reviewed 26 May 2010

I just got back from a 10 day trip to Kos where I went with my boyfriend. We treated ourself to this hotel for the first 3 nights of the trip and then get a more modest self catering apartment for the week. This hotel definately was a treat, we decided to opt for the 'seaview pool sharing apartment' which was lovely as we had a very reasonably sized pool which just one block of rooms shared. From our room we didn't have a sea view but you did if you look over the pool wall, a little disappointing. The service was great as soon as we got to the hotel, the receptionist was very friendly and efficient.

If you are considering this hotel and have walking difficulties of any kind you will need to request a room near the main pool area (which is huge!) as all the rooms further away are up stairs or a very steep hill-the hotel is more like blocks of apartments rather than one building.

Very good choice and yummy buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner with unlimited beer and wine that you serve yourself ( although I wouldn't recommend either of those!) There was the option to get spirits and other drinks from the bar but it took so long to get a drink we didn't really do that, that was the only downside of the stay at the hotel. There are also two a la carte restaurants but you have to book the morning on the day before you want to eat to get a table as they dont fill all the tables due to lack of staff it seems. We booked the morning before and only the asian restaurant was left so we opted for that and it was verrrry nice!

Beach was across one small quiet road from hotel but is very close to road and not very big and as we had a shared pool with our room we spent most of our time there. Location wise the hotel is close enough to walk into Kardamena which is quite small so easy to walk around and explore, walk only took 10 minutes maximum.

Wish we could have afforded to stay here for the whole 10 days!! Have added some photos of pool area but none of room unfortunately, lovely bathroom, you can see more photos on its website.

Spent a week at the Carda beach in the beginning of May, the weather was absolutely glorious. The hotel is very clean and stylish looking.
The beds are massive, got the best weeks sleep ever. The bathroom is partitioned off by glass and has a superb shower.
Our room was quite high up on the resort, so quite a hike from the reception area. Didn't bother me but request a closer room in advance if you have mobility problems.
The food in the buffet restaurant was lovely, but did tend to get a bit samey after a week. The waiting staff are quite pleasant, but did have a bit of a tendency to hover and swoop your plate off the table whilst you're still chewing your last mouthful.
Oriental restaurant was ok but nothing special. Spent most evenings in the bar, cocktails were lovely but service was quite slow. It did appear to be quite understaffed on more than one occasion. The clientele is mainly German, who tend to keep to themselves so the evenings were quite quiet.
Went to Kardamena village once, had a lovely meal at Yianni's then a few drinks. The bar street of the village is like running a gauntlet with the annoying PRs trying to entice you in. Overall the hotel is beautiful and I'd recommend to anyone wishing for a quiet relaxing holiday.

We just returned from a week at the Carda beach hotel, Huge resort with gigantic swimming pools and plenty of sun loungers it was the beginning of the season so very quiet which was lovely! The pools are very cold but i guess when the suns been on them for several months they probably heat up a bit . we still braved the pool as it was nice to cool off from the sun! The staff were all very friendly and helpful, the food in the buffett was of good quality although several times it was a bit luke warm. the breakfasts had a good choice and there is also the Wok and roll which is a chinses but wasnt really the best quality food but a nice change from the buffet style and the pizzeria could have been better but again a pizza makes a nice change. The cocktails and beer were drinkable however the wine was terrible i ended up buying my self a 5 euro bottle of blossom hill from the supermarket and putting it in the fridge of the room.
Kardamena is a bit of a hole typical british drunks but is fun for a night out we recommend the Garden bar which is very pretty and has a nice outside area with lemon trees, and the Pegalos restaurant on the front in Kardamena fab good value wine and Mezes. Hire a quad and take a drive to Kefalos and Kos town!

We stayed in the Carda Beach have booked with Olympic Holidays, when we travelled we were able to book a pool sharing suite, which was amazing, this was basically a block of 8 rooms which shared a huge private pool.

When we travelled this hotel was all inclusive, the food was superb, always fresh and plentiful. The drinks were also great.

Kardamena is not the best resort, but there are plenty of restaurants and bars so it is nice for an outing and it is very easy to get the bus to Kos town for a bit of a difference.

Carda Beach is a lovely stylish hotel, but be warned some of the rooms are up a very steep hill so may not be apt for those with walking problems, saying that there is a golf buggy to help you get around.

It was the private pool that really made this holiday special so if you are thinking of going here see if you can get the pool suite, it is well worth the extra money if you are a sun worshiper.

We decided last minute to spend our honeymoon in Greece and chose Carda Beach Hotel. The hotel is as shown on their website, no false advertising at all. The room was beatuiful and the housekeepers were fantastic. Rooms were cleaned regardless of our do not disturb sign on the door. Fresh towels daily and fridge restocked.

We were on an all inclusive package and very impressed. I am an extremely fussy eater but the variety and selection of food was truly brilliant and the waiting staff well presented and always attentive. Chefs cleary worked very hard and always presented the food beautifully. Thank you.

The pool bar staff very friendly and good fun. Always a happy smile.
All the staff from the shop , restaurant, bar, housekeeping were great. We coud see they had a very busy season and all deserved a good holiday however remained enthusiatic and keen to please.

I would recommend this to anyone who wanted a break away whether you were on holiday as a group, couple or family.

We stayed here for a week at the end of September, my partner and 8 month old daughter.
Staff at reception were very welcoming and friendly when we arrived at lunch time. We were taken up to our room in a golf buggy as our room was very high up and too steep to manage with a buggy and 2 large cases. I would not recommend this hotel if you have mobility problems as most of the rooms are on a steep slope.
The room was lovely, clean, modern and great sea views.
Pool area was spotless with plenty of sun loungers. Pool was freezing though, I doubt it is ever warm even in the hot summer months. I went in it once but too cold for my little daughter. Only downside of being around the pool is the music they play over and over at the pool bar.
Beach nice and quiet, again ample sun loungers.
Food was good, plenty of choice. Flies around food a bit of a problem but not much they can do about it really. Nice Italian and Asian 'themed' restaurants. Don't expect authentic food, but at least they try hard.
Bar is good, as mentioned before staff are a bit slow at serving but it is good to sit outside and watch the sunset.
This is not a strictly adults only hotel, at the time of our stay they were other babies and families with a young child. All well behaved, but if you are totally anti-kids this is not the hotel for you.
All of the staff were very helpful and friendly and we had a really enjoyable, relaxing holiday.

We got home this morning after staying at Carda Beach for 10 days.

After looking at some reviews on here we're wondering if we stayed at the same hotel as some of the people writing bad reviews.

Staff were absolutely faultless, Lisa and Madlen working at the pool bar were very friendly and chatty, and more than happy to explain what food was included in all inclusive. If you don't ask you don't know!

Our room was immaculate. The bathroom isn't private, as is shown in any pictures you see before you book, but if you're a couple, surely it doesn't matter! Cleaners were excellent, they even lined up my flip flops neatly and folded up my dirty washing!

The beach can be stony in places, but oncey ou're over it, it;s beautiful sand, and the rocks make it great for snorkelling without having to find somewhere especially.

Food was faultless, both in the buffet and italian and chinese restaurants. I'm fussy wih food and I had no problems finding something to eat.

There isn't any entertainment in the evenings, but for a 5* adult hotel, what do you want? Drag queens on stage? The bars a nice place to chill out after sittng in the sun all day. Only one complaint we had was the staff at the main bar could be a bit slow sometimes, but the cocktails were lovely!

The pool's cold, yes, but when you're sat in the sun all day any water will be freezing. Once you're in it, it's lovely and nice to cool down.

The staff throughout the whole hotel were very helpful and friendly. We were due to fly out at 2am this morning and when we checked in were told just to check friday night if or room was available, which it was. In the height of season it's unlikely you could do this so best to book it before you go, after all, you know when your flight is.

There were a lot of Germans at the hotel, but this didn't bother us, everyone's entitled to a holiday and the last thing we wanted was lairy Brits trying to be our friends! They were all really friendly and we didn't have any problems.

We ventured into the town one night wih a couple we'd met to watch the football, it was quiet as its the end of season but was good to see something different. The PRs can be a bit over-bearing, but that's their job, we just walked past and said 'no thanks' Bearing in mind it was the end of season, we were at a bar til 4am until they closed and were invited with the staff to a club after, so nothing seems to shut down even this late in September.

I honestly don't know how anyone could fault this hotel, we've already looked at booking for next year and been home less than a day!
