We stayed here for 10 nights in August.

The hotel itself is extremely spacious and very clean. We were impressed that you didn't have to get up at the crack of dawn to put your towels over your sunbeds. Infact there were plenty of sunbeds all the time.

The staff all spoke English and were friendly, the kids club was a hit with our twins. The Animation team worked hard and also were very friendly.

Our accommodation was clean - the maid came every day and we had clean towels daily.

Our only dissappointment was the food - but to be honest we didn't go hungry. The restaurant staff took away your dirty plates almost immediately. There was always plenty of food even if yes it did seem to be geared towards the Italians. They did a bbq outside each night - that was popular and smelt lovely when you were outside.

I hope you all have a good holiday - we did!

29.07.06 - I was interested to read that this hotel had problems with there room allocations, we were told on arrival at Kos airport... 'Your not going to Sovereign Beach hotel you are going to Kalamarie Mare for one week then moved to Sovereign Beach for the second week, the rep will see you tomorrow afternoon'
We decided to go to the SBeach Hotel in morning and were told they'd had a burst pipe on Friday Evening, so we told our rep who arrrived at our hotel at 3.45pm (another day wastes) she said she'd emailed Libra in the UK at 12.07pm Kos time. We received no notifcaiton. It did nt end there we were offered to rooms on the Wednesday, so we went up on the Tuesday night to view the rooms and surprise surprise we had a look at the rooms and one was vacant the other was empty. We werent happy with them so we asked what could be done, two more rooms were found for us, and we were told that these rooms would be held until the Saturday with the following remark made ' Please don t tell any one about the rooms being held as we are relocating other people to another hotel' surprise surprise when we eventually arrived at S Beach hotel on the Saturday one room was vacant the other had still got the cleaners to go in!!!! Yet another lie.
We were a party of 6 including 2 children, 1 22year old and my 72 year old mother so obviously this holiday was a bit of a nightmare.

It would have been better if the S Beach could just tell us the truth instead of what appeared to be a pack of lies. And if Libra had contacted us to let us know a give us alternatives so it did not cause us to much disruption.

The hotel was a good but they obviously have serious problems when allocating rooms as this seems a reoccuring problem.

To be honest i dont think my family would ever go back to this hotel. We were told it was a nice quite hotel but to our dismay it certainly was not. With music blaring out from the pool area from 10.00am until the mid afternoon and when that stops there is more music from the entertainment area for the dance lessons and some times the two were competing with each other as to who could be the loudest. We were also not keen on the evening entertainment continuing until 12.30am and you could not get away from the noise anywere in the hotel. Not good if you are trying to get to sleep.
With regards to the food, we were not happy at all. The food was never hot enough and its fine as long as you like pizza, pasta and chips. It was totally geared towards the italians-which we found out a few days of being there that an Italian company had bought the hotel and 90% of the guests we italian. Yes thats fine but it would of been nice to have some of the entertainment spoken in a different lanugage and also have some variety on food. Regardless of all that i have to say how professional Stephanos, the restaurant manager was. He had a hard time trying to find tables for people when there werent any and he had some long days sometimes.
The rooms were ok. The housekeepers need to be retrained, I work in a hotel and we certainly wouldnt allow them to get away with the sloopy standards they have. One day they completely forgot to service our room, and yes i did know they dont do rooms on a sunday but this was midweek and im sorry but when there is a puddle on the floor and some dirt i do expect them to mop this up. I also expect them to sweep the bedroom floor. Not the best !!!
The receptionist were very helpful especaialy when we were asking them information about the hotel and spoke excellent english.
All i can say is good luck to anyone who goes there- its fine if you want a cheapish all inclusive holiday and you dont mind reptative, luke warm food with no entertainment in english!

four of us spent 11 nights in this hotel on arrival the man at the desk said your rooms are not available there is a problem with the plumbing, this was untrue, i said to him ive read about this on the reviews and we want what weve paid for, eventually we got our rooms so demand what you paid for, our room was small but clean, sheets changed every day, but bathroom had a funny smell like the drains? the food in my opinion was awful, this hotel does not cater for the brits, chips & pasta 24/7 and the queues every day waiting for empty food trays drinking glasses and dessert spoons to be replaced was infuriating, the pool was nice and clean, lots of sun beds, no disco while we were there, but was advertised in our brochure, went into town every night, brill, there is a pool bar there got 3 full size tables, 6 euros 1 hr, go to kos town see the ruins and visit the port and shopping centre fantastic, over all i would say that staff were friendly and the hotel was reasonable for the money we paid, but be warned about the food, im a diabetic and i lived on chips, very dry fish, had to swill it down, eggs and toast for breakfast, dinner and tea looked revolting, spinach pie,????????? wont go again.

Have returned from 10 days of heaven at the Sovereign Beach. This hotel has it all efficient and friendly staff, clean and airy rooms. Wonderful food (so much choice) perfect setting to eat in. Fantastic terrace for evening drinks. A beach to die for, clean and clear sea and sand. Alternatively you can relax by a good size pool with plenty of loungers etc. Canot rate this Hotel high enough. Entertainment is good, but you do not have to be part of it so the choice will be yours. Visit this Hotel is you want excellent value for money and great time with friendly and helpful people. In an excellent location,
We have been five times before and it just get better!

picture this..... 5 days before you go away you receive a letter stating that you have to contact your travel company urgently and then you get told your holiday is cancelled, well for me and my family is is not a picture but reality!!! got a letter from my travel company first choice...contacted them and they basically said there is no room for us in the hotel anymore, because the hotel is getting rid of many first choice rooms, our rooms are some of them (typical!!!!)..... this holiday has been booked since the begining of the year and 5 days before were due to fly out we have been told this, so we asked what else is avalible, nothing on kos, but there is on another greek island, but instead of being an all inclusive we have to be self catering and we only get £50 compensation,(anyway don't get me started on that) so me and my family decided to take this other holiday up as 1 holiday is better than none.... so thats it no staying at hotel sovereign beach in kos...oh well nothing much else i can say really!!!!

Where do i start!! This had to be the best holiday i've been on, had an amazing time. The hotel was completely spotless from the moment you walked into the reception. Rooms where great, nothing too special but had all the basics you needed, fridge, tv, hairdryer, bath and shower. Most of the views of the rooms where lovely overlooking the sea. Fab!! All inclusive was also great, many people moaned about the food, but we were very satisfied. Everyday they served the basics, chips, rice, pasta, pizza, loads of salad, different soups each day (which was a bit watery, but most were still delious). Then everyday the choice of meat, fish, childrens meals changed. The desserts were great also. There was also a chef who cooked a different pasta dish everyday, while you watched which was nice and a barbacue outside cooking different meats each day. I am a vegerterian and was still very satisfied with the food!! Went down for breakfast only one day (due to sleeping in) but that seemed nice as well. One thing i must say is because its self service and buffet style you may get sick of the food, so i'd advise that instead of putting a bit of everything on your plate at once, try just have one meal each day, that way you wont get sick of it!!!
The pool was gorgous and suprisingly you didnt have to go down early to save a sunbed, there was loads. The range of activities was also great, water polo, football, tennis and aqua aerobics. Although it was mainly catered for, for italians, you couldnt complain, everyone could join in every activity. I must warn you though some of the italians can be pretty ignorent, n the reception staff a bit strange, but you didnt really have to talk to them much. The bar staff was lovely though which is the main thing. Every english person we met was really nice. There was also a pool bar, which was good, mainly serving soft drink and ice cream, but if you were hungry throughout the day you could go down to the snack bar. There was also a gym and a sauna, didnt try them though, just wanted to relax. The beach was nice, the sand very stoney, but the water was fabulous, you could go on the pedloes and canoes for free, we went on a few times and usually got stuck, haha!! We didnt really stay round the hotel at night, but i hear the entertainment is good although some people have said again it is mainly for italians. There was a disco on a few of the days which was meant to have been good as a few friends have said. Of a night we went to kardamena town. theres a mini bus that goes there 3 times a day, 09:00, 12:00 and 21:00 but if you missed the mini bus its only about a 15-20 minute walk. The town of a night was very lively, loads of bars and a few clubs if you want to have a bit of a crazy night. There are PR's constantly trying to get you into the bars offering cocktails with free shots. I wouldnt really say its for the kids of a night, but of a day it would be great. One night we went to a foam party which was amazing!!! if your up for it definatly go, you'd have an brilliant night.
The only reason we didnt give it five stars was because the end of the holiday, while checking out they charged us for some drinks we'd alredy paid for, which came to like 15 euro which we wernt happy about, but there was nothing we could do but pay it!!
Overall this was a brilliant holiday, really relaxing in the day and a bit mad in the night, but what i will say is that if you do want a quiter night, there still lots to do!! so dont let that put you off!!!
