Visited Akit Beach last week, spent 1 week here. Overall experience I was very impressed with everything. I was a bit cautious, as several years ago had a bad all inclusive experience. Rooms are very clean with maid service every day. We went on holiday with an 18 and 23 year old. They enjoyed plenty of watersports and go carting only 5 min walk, that where on offer at a price. There is plenty of entertainment for younger children, with entertaiment throught the day and evening. There where plenty of activities that where free, this included tennis, crazy golf, table tennis, canoes and peddleows, there where 2 swimming pools and also a gym, which you can only access wearing gym shoes.
There are some quiet places in the development if you want to get away from the childrens entertainment.
The food was exceptional, all food it cooked on site, greek, italian, chinese and grill.
The only thing that we had to pay for was the safe deposit 20 euros, you have to put a deposit down of 50 euros for the remote for TV and air con, but you get this back with proof of a receipt, very impressive.
There was also a free bus that ran throughout the day taking you into Kardemena which is about a 10 min drive, there is a beach walk for the very fit, that takes around 1 hour.
All sun beds on the beach are free, but beware the pebble beach gets very hot under foot. Weather was very hot for this time of year, around 34 during the day and 28 in the evening.
I would like to visit this hotel again, the only thing I would do differently would be to hire a car, to see the rest of the island.

This was our first time at akti but it wont be the last! We were late reaching hotel<15 mins from airport> but the night staff were very helpful and polite! good start ! the food and choices are superb. There is a huge selection to pick from, chinese, pizza, greek etc so something for even the fussiest eaters! the drinks were great too something we have had complaints about in other all incusive hotels..the beer was proper beer none of your 1% garbage.wine beer and about 12 different soft drinks are available at mealtimes.the entertainment team work very hard and do shows most nights,,<the kids will like them> the beach is a little too gritty for me but there are3pools to pick from so no problem. sheets and towells are changed every morning, fantastic!, hire a car or quad to see more ,kos town is only 25 mins on a quad and there are dozens of beautiful beaches just a very short trip away! If you go to bed sober and hungry you must be a nun or something.you will love this place! enjoy, but take a good mozzy repellent for the evenings and you will be fine..

Just got back from the best holiday i have had. I stopped A I and must say the food and drink on offer was first class. The room was very tidy and cleaned daily. The pool and outside activities are also very good along with the entertainment team who gave 100%.
Some small things i noticed included guests still smoking in the restaurants at meal times and the fact that some left plastic glasses all over the pool area which may be why as mentioned below snacks around the pool are served on paper and not glass plates.
Please note it is also a custom on Kos not to fastern the shower head to the wall and that toilet paper is not flushed away it is put in a pedal bin.

The hotel in general is brilliant, it's clean, friendly and the food is absolutely brilliant. Even for all inclusive, we never got fed up with the food in the 2 weeks we stayed. There was always something different to try; Italian, Chinese, English, Greek - every day. The Animation Team were great, especially Nick, Larse, Amy, Darren, Kim, Clare, Chantelle, Roberto, Bruno and Angelica. They made sure my 8 and 13 year old sons (Josh and Jack) had a fab time every day singing and dancing to the 'Sunshine Song". Lots to do each day - Latino dancing, water aerobics, yoga, water polo, but if you want to laze by the pool and watch the activities instead, no one bothers you (like they do in Egypt and Turkey). The hotel is actually a long way from Kardamena, but you can walk to the village centre on the sea front which takes about 1 hour. The pools are warm and clean and your rooms get cleaned everyday with fresh towels and nothing is too much for the staff. I asked for lots at the reception and they happily helped me, e.g. more pillows, wine and cake for my husband's birthday. As a family we always say the world is so big you don't return to the same place, but we are seriously considering returning to this hotel, it was that good. The wine, beer and spirits are not watered down and they are given in good measures, ice cream is available all day from 10am, and although our brochure stated it was for children only, all adults helped themselves and no one complained. Overall, an excellent place to go to relax, have good 'all inclusive' food and wine for all the family. As a true Brit, I can't go without making one "bad" point, the beds were a bit hard on your back so it was lovely to return to our own bed at the end of the holiday!

Overall holiday was good but a few things let this hotel down. Nothing happens after midnight and unless you like just to watch the animation team strutt thier stuff nothing happens befor midnight. My party at least like to have some music on resort or even in town but due to the midnight ban unless you like to go to one of the only two clubs that are open then your out of luck, thats if you can find them as they are soundproofed.
I was also unimpressed with the fact that by our second week you were not allowed to have a plate from the snack bar, i spoke to the manager who said the children will break them well me and my partner went on our own and still not allowed so we had to eat bacon ,sausages tomatoes and chips on serviets so dont miss your lunch.
Also be warned anyone with serious medical problems as while we were sitting having a drink the night before we came home a young English girl who appeared drunk at first actually stopped breathing twice. The staff didnt seem to know what to do and needed yelling at and direction before they done anything, It took 1 hour for the doctor and 3 for the ambulance which they didnt want to call. It turned out the poor girl had been drugged by someone as she doesnt even really drink, Some staff cared and some didnt.
One last thing the beds in the three appartments we occupied need urgent replacement as this downgrades the hotel to 2 star as you cant sleep.
I would not go back to Kos but overall the holiday was still good they just need to tweek a few things.
