This was the first visit for my friend and I to Kos, but will certainly not be the last.

The reception, management, bar staff, and all the team work exceptionally hard to ensure your stay at Cleopatra meets expectations. We just wanted a relaxing break
and this hotel proved perfect for us.

Cleopatra is quietly situated, but within convenient walking distance of the restaurants, bars and beach. As our stay was at the beginning of the season, the hotel was not full, and many of the people there were repeat guests.

Continental breakfast and a good selection of bar food all day

Stam behind the bar kept everyone entertained, and gave several recommendations for
dining out. Every evening we tried different restaurants, and all the meals were of
an excellent standard.

If you want more night life, you can go onto bar street although we didn't bother after the first night. We went in Stone Roses Bar some evenings where the music is good, and to Downtown where there is a variety of 70's / 80's music. Some evenings we stayed in the hotel. There is a Greek night where the staff encourage you to join in with the Greek Dancing. They also do a quiz night but beware, you may be expected to play Bingo!!

The rooms are basic but kept scrupilously clean. There are plenty of sunbeds available by the pool without having to get up at a ridiculously early hour to reserve.
Some of the beds are a bit 'tired', and I would have preferred ones with mattresses, but this was only a minor point.

Occasionally we went to the beach by 'Sunbeam' - not a particularly picturesque part of the beach, but comfy sunbeds and Andreas provided nice selection of bar food.

All in all an excellent week's holiday, and we are trying to book for next year same time.

Thanks Manos, Stam and the rest of the team!

LOCATION
We went in mid October so was pretty quiet really but still had an ok time. Really liked the location, five min walk from shops, bars, restaurants etc. Nice place called Manos restaurant great tasty food and good prices too right next to the beach, could actually see the sunset while we were eating which i liked. Owner, Neo, was lovely and friendly. Greggs bar a minute away from Manos was good. Most cocktails were 3 euros and the owner, Sophia would let us pour our own in the end too, would chat behind the bar with her etc.

THINGS TO DO
Was plenty to do, would be more if we went earlier eg the waterpark closed in september and coz we didnt go til mid oct obviously missed that. Rented sand buggies for the day (needed driving license/provisional), was about 40 euros for standard one but could get bigger one for 60 ish. Also went on a trip to paradise beach was 15 euros, included coach (pick up n drop off) and got discount on watersports. Also called bubble beach coz was bubbles in parts of the sea which was quite nice.

HOTEL
I wasnt too impressed about this hotel really, or rather some of the staff who worked there. I found a few of the hotel staff quite rude. Woman at reception giving us our keys back n slammed em on the counter. Friend asked her questions and would give her dirty looks and tutting etc. Had a few problems with the manager and someone else who worked behind the bar-few friends rented out sand buggies again and it was backfiring once or twice, the man behind the bar and the manager shouted at them and moaned etc.
There was a few cats there who had just had kittens so we took a bit of cheese from breakfast to feed her, the man behind the bar shouted at us for it and squirted the kittens (not even 2 days old) with the hose.called him mean n he then told us he didnt care.

Breakfast was ok, bread rolls, toast, jams, yoghurt and peaches, mixed fruit juices. basic but fine.

Rooms were cleaned six times a week. We got provided with little soaps in our rooms. Always had plenty of clean towels, bins were emptied, clean linen etc.
Although the hotel was b&b, was no cooker, microwave or kettle to make anythin else to eat so had to eat out for the week which worked out quite expensive. Was a little fridge for water or drinks etc. We did buy bread n jam towards the end of the week when we were runnin out of money but the bread went mouldy the next day. I think for the fridge to work the door key has to be left in all the time.

Pool area was quite nice, music playing but was quite quiet better to sit in the shaded area with chairs etc if you wanted to listen to it, which we did while eating. Enough sunbeds etc.

Overall, the location is good, hotel was average but wasnt too keen on some of the staff.
Would go back again but not to that hotel. Is quite expensive since has changed to euros so would suggest you took plenty with you, we took around 200 each and ran out lol.

We have just returned from a weeks stay at this fabulous hotel and already wishing we were back there. This was our fifth visit to this hotel and the high standards have never changed in our opinion. Our room was spotless and we definitely had more than one towel change in the seven days we were there, although I must admit some of the pillowcases are looking a bit tired now - the sheets were fine. Maid service six days a week and even on the seventh we found the bins had been emptied. Manos and his reception staff are very helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them. George on reception on a night is so sweet!! Even the cleaners greet you with a smile. Breakfast may not be the Ritz but there again you don't pay Ritz prices for this hotel. There was still fruit cocktail, prunes, ham, cheese, biscuits, bread buns, brown bread, white bread, jam, marmalade etc, two sorts of cereals, orange juice, tea, coffee which in our opinion is perfectly adequate for a continental breakfast. We never went in the pool but it looked spotlessly clean with plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas round it. There are plenty of places inside to sit in the shade to cool down. If you want a cooked breakfast there is none better than El Grecos on the front (5 min walk away) - full English for four Euroes with all the trimmings! Pavols bar a five minute walk from the hotel is great.- clean and one of the cheapest places for a drink in Kardamena. It is always busy and the bar staff very friendly. For a quiet drink on the front next to Macdonalds is Angelas bar - always a warm welcome from Yannis and plenty of music from the 60's etc - a bit old fashioned but not expensive for drinks etc. Ta Adelphia just on the other side of the bridge is fantastic for meals with plenty of good food at affordable prices. Paul and his staff are very friendly and all speak English. Ellie's Carvery is another good place to eat and very clean. We find that the best beach is going out towards the Aegean Centre. Good comfy sunbeds with the excellent Christopoulsis Taverna on hand just across the road. One of the best ways of getting around Kos and seeing different places is to hire a quad bike (very safe if driven properly!). We always hire ours from Peter's and have never been let down with his bikes. Thankfully we were hardly pestered from touts trying to get us into their establishments etc. We have been coming to Kos for the last ten years but to this hotel for the last five. We would never dream of booking anywhere else. We are already looking to book for next May and September. The weather is still hot in these two months so investing in the air conditioning in the hotel room is a must.

Stayed at this hotel from 22nd Aug to 5th Sept. Hotel was clean, towels changed once a week, maids cleaned the room 6 days a week. Hotel staff are friendly and accommodating. Had to complain about our noisy neighbours once, after this we did not hear another peep out of them. Pool area is lovely, be warned though sometimes you will not be allowed to put up the umbrellas as it gets too windy, which may be a problem if you like to sit in the shade. Avli, Pelagos (especially for desserts), Yianni are great restaurants. Worthwhile hiring a car for the day, going to Nisyros, the waterpark, Zia for the beautiful sunset and going to Kos Town. Definitely a place for nightlife but the hotel is away from noise so you can rest and chillax if you want to.

Didnt know what to expect really first time to Kos. Hotel was spotless even to my high standards!! Staff so polite and happy to help with any queries. We asked to move rooms after first night as we found been near the stairs on the first floor we could hear everything outside. We were moved the following day with no fuss. Really great service! Would definately go back to the Superior. Quiet relaxing pool and bar just nice!

Stayed August 8th - August 16th 2009 cannot fault this Hotel for Greece. Every was available for you in and outside the hotel.
Within easy walking distance of the music bars if you want it but able to sleep at night it you don't. Everything about the hotel, place and people was great and value for money. Beach was very close with a choice of many beaches some smaller than others. The smaller ones with free sunbeds if you use the beach bar who owns the beds. Will definately be going to this hotel again. Staff at the hotel Milly, Stam and Reception including the cleaners were all lovely.

My wife and me have been at Cleopatra Superior at the end of July and our impression was good. The position is excellent (a stone throw from the centre but outside enough from the loudiest area) and with a big parking just in front of the entrance. The rooms on the seaside and on the top floors have a excellent view on the seaside. The people at the reception were always kind and helpful with us when needing information or trying to rent a car. The room were generally clean but something could be better: the sheets while looking clean were bearing the signs of time. The bathroom was ok but the shower was without the wall support for the head and that was a bit of discomfort. No shampoo or bathsoap at disposition. The balcony was great with a small table and chairs to take a relaxing sunset. The breakfast was ok, but could be better with some water at disposition and the chance to take an espresso coffee (even paying it) for people that can't drink instant coffee. The pool was looking very nice from the top but we've never been there because we prefer the sea. Looking at the other hotels in the center of Kardamena the Cleopatra Superior seems the best of its category.
