Just came back from 7 days stay at the Kris mari. Was pleasantly surprised for a 3 star hotel it was very clean, the rooms were large and had a fridge, the staff were excellent and we enjoyed our entire stay and are booking for September!
We had a mountain view room which was spectacular.

Don't be down on the breakfast, yes it's cereal and toast but the price you pay for B&B what do you expect?

The receptionist Manos/Yanni was great when my friend fell down a step, he was very concerned and was there to help straight away.

Thanks guys! 101 & 102

We booked this as a cheap week away in the May half term. The hotel is 3 stars but I would say the only thing 3 stars about it was the bathroom! Super friendly staff, spotlessly cleaned nice size rooms. We stayed on first floor with "mountain view" which we really like as it was hot when we were there and the sun was beating onto the balcony's with pool views. The bathrooms was the only let down in so far as it had really seen better days (Grotty tiles/shower curtains, open shower tray)and the mixer tap on the shower was very hard to operate, However it was clean and there wasloads of hot water. The pool and pool areas were cleaned daily and as it was early season there was no problem getting a sunbed.
The pool bar served breakfast and lunches and were really good value for money and very tasty. People have been complaining about breakfast but for what we paid we were very happy with it. The location is very good if we leant over our balcony we could see the beach. Kos was the friendliest place we have ever holidayed, the shopkeepers and restaurants staff were all so nice and really great value for money. We met some lovely people at Kris Mari and will defo return one day!

The title means we got a room key for another room on our floor without noticing. It OPENED our door !!! It wasnt until next day I noticed that it had a different number on it.We took it to reception & were assured that it would be sorted. Meanwhile they tried to charge the people in the other room 50 euros for a "lost" key. Our Airtours/Thomas Cook rep didnt show for 3 days(thought appointments were made !)They changed the lock in the other room but still left ours. ( 3rd floor)We were given free aircon & cheap bottle of wine (2.60 euros in supermarket) as compensation. ! I was afraid to leave the room after this in case of a break in.The rooms were Very basic but clean. Breakfast was tea/coffee, toast.,jam/cheese (ham 3 times in 2 weeks) tin fruit cocktail or tin peaches.Cheap cereal yoghurt & honey !!. Still waiting to haer from you Thomas Cook !!

Room Tip: Poolside room quieter. Seemed like over 60s here. No much for children. Check the key when you pick...

Dear Sir,
we appreciate the fact that another key could open your door, which obviously nobody could predict, but we addressed it immediately by changing one of the two locks. You mention that the wine was cheap, but you also mention that you got something free that costs 50 euro. In my world it is not just the value of the item, it is the gesture and the thought that should also count. the fact is that we accepted our mistake as soon as we realized it, apologized and offered gifts to you in order to show you how sorry we are should be taken into consideration. regarding the serious security issues i would like to bring to your attention that reception is manned 24 hours and that we never had a reported theft in our hotel (during the 20+ years that this hotels is open). Your comment regarding breakfast is also unfair, as the breakfast we serve is richer than the standard continental that you have booked. it is also extremely rich if you consider the contracted breakfast and the money the average guest pays to stay in our hotels in May & early June. the thomas cook rep was on site regularly and was informed, but she felt that the hotel acted swiftly & offered adequate compensation for the case to be closed. I am sorry for the error, we dealt with it internally, but feel we did the right thing as soon as we realized
many thanks

To put this review in perspective you must know that we had a last minute deal: 7 days B&B for just £151 and stayed in room 203, so we had no complaints had we paid full whack we may have had a few reservations. I will get the down sides out of the way first because overall it is a good hotel. The breakfasts were disappointing. The same every morning. Tinned fruit cocktail and peaches, pallitable because of the gorgeous greek yoghurt and honey that accompanied. 3 choices of cereals (cheapo cornflakes). Basic cheese or ham, bread rolls. Toast and jam. some fresh fruit and croissants would be been nice but that is personal taste. Can't comment on other meals because the breakfasts put us off. The showers, which in all fairness is pretty usual in Greece unless you go all inclusive, were basic. Shower tray, curtain and non adjustable shower head which if in the wrong position turned it into a wet room. However, there was always hot water and the pressure was good. 5 euros a day for air con. The pool side rooms are in full sun all day, we were on the mountain side which is "cooler" but still hot. They could do with net curtains for the mozzies because if you leave the doors open you will be bit alive. The mountainside view is not all it seems, in between your balcony and the mountain "Beirut" comes to mind!
The hotel is known to be an "18-30s" hotel but we went before 2nd week in June and it was more family and older couples which suited us.As we are tea and coffee buffs we also took our own kettle. Room 203 was basic but always spotless, plenty of wardrobe and storage space, comfortable twin beds, TV and fridge.
Now for the good bits: The staff are so very friendly, the hotel has a lovely reception, breakfast and pool area. Indoor and poolside bar. Spotlessly clean. There was no entertainment on but that may be because it was early season. However, its sister hotel did put on a live music night if that's your cup of tea. It is a stones throw from the beach, supermarkets, bars and harbour restaurants. Being on the village side things are maybe a bit more run down but it is compensated for by much friendlier people, and cheaper prices. But you are still within a couple of minutes walk to the trendy Bar Street end. Our favourite places were Treasure Island bar, where we ended up every night. Good value snacks at As You Like, try the gyros. The Garden was ok but over rated. We dined at Captain's, Pelagos and Avli's, and a breakfast at Loustros but in all honesty, it is personal taste and you can go to any restaurant and get good food. we got a 3 bay boat trip for 20 euros from SailAway (ask for Dave), which included a BBQ on board.
It was a fabulous holiday and hope to be returning in September.

Room Tip: A poolside room is nicer if you have the air con. Mountain view rooms very disappointing. Take a mos...

Once again an excellent stay. We stayed for 2 weeks with no problems, it's a bit like going to see good friends. I cannot speak to highly of the staff especially Manos and Penny who went out of there way to help my cousin and her husband get back to England after some bad news in the family (sorting their flights and taking them to the airport) We cannot wait to go back as a lot of other guests do
