Just got back from villa 20 and would like to thank the animals who left before 21 Sept for leaving all their rubbish under the sink and attracting every ant in the neighbourhood! Hope someone does this kind of thing to you one day.

Apart from this, the villa was lovely. Really spacious and well equipped. Good location, easy to get around on buses and good restaurants nearby.

We went with jet2.com. Good value, rep non existant but didnt need one - shifted previous slob's rubbish ourselves and dealt with ants

Returned 21st Sept after a lovely relaxing week at the Maribel villas. I think we had one of the best locations No 4 villa although they all looked very nice. Great location so quiet , well equipped villa lovely well maintained pool and bedding and towel change very good. Nice beach just down the road with another at Cala Blanca a 5 minute walk away. ,Some nice restaurants and bars close to villas. Ciutadella should be visited during the day and night, but just go to the supermarkets and stock up on some very good cheap wines and beers and Spanish Foods and relax around your pool and dining area on some comfortable sunbeds and furniture and chill out for the time your there.

Room Tip: villas 1 -7 seem to be best locations

Just returned from a week at these lovely villas. They are well equipped, have a great pool and sunbathing area with comfy loungers, clean, we had towel change and maid service twice during our stay. I cannot find fault really, we did have a problem with the pump on the pool but this was fixed within minutes of reporting it to reception who we found extremely helpful at all times (they sorted out a cock up by Jet2 for us but that's another tale).

We will be returning to these villas at some point in the future (not with Jet2 though) as we found it to be one of the most relaxing holiday we have had for some time!

Have just returned from a weeks stay at Maribel Villas booked with Thomson. Stayed in No 11 - the villa itself was in a good location. Nearby Ciutadella (10 mins drive) is a very attractive historic spanish town with a lovely harbourside offering plenty of bars/restaurants in the evenings. Between Ciutadella and the appartments is a large supermarket Diskont which was very convenient for everything you need. The appartments were well equiped: kitchen had washing machine, dishwasher, electric hob, microwave, small countertop oven/grill, kettle, toaster. Rooms clean (cleaner came twice) and air conditioning units in every room. Great pool, 6 comfortable sunloungers and patio area with table and seating.
I would have given it a higher star rating if it wasn't for the following:
1. EVERY day from about 8am till approx 3 pm several men walked straight through our gate and proceeded to walk up and down through our villa grounds to other villas in order for them to do gardening. I appreciate they need to do some maintenance work but we literally had someone walking right past us EVERY FEW MINUTES backwards and forwards within feet of us on our sunbeds. They even walked right across the patio at the edge of the pool every few minutes clearing garden rubbish. This was extremely intrusive and very far from being private. Be warned if you are allocated No 11 - they seem to use this villa to gain access to all the gardens.
2. the quality of the mattresses on the beds are very poor - after a week, both of our backs were killing us!
3. Limited parking around the villas - was only just OK in this low season - expect could be a problem in high season?
All in all a good week (if you ignored the people walking past you in your garden all day) - great villa but just don't expect privacy

Room Tip: Avoid Villa 11 - seems to be used by maintenance people to walk through to gain access to all the ot...

This was our first package holiday for 20 years and was not our choice but a refund from Thomsons and we thought we should take it. I had quite a number of reservations I suppose because it was only three star and also based on some of the reviews. Pre holiday I had emailed reception and they were fantastic. Everything we asked for was waiting for us including a brand new hair dryer at no extra cost. All appliances in the villa worked. Towel and linen services were as good as a top class hotel. We also got two small cleans! Certainly not expected. The villas were spacious. Outside was really private and comfortable. The loungers were fab. We loved the area. It was so friendly everywhere was easy to get to. Good restaurants and supermarkets close by. I was really charmed by Menorca and the people who looked after us. I think the villas have the potential to be a higher classification. Just a few things like the showers and other very minor upgrades and these villas are as good as any I have occupied.

They we excellent value for money. I think we will come back with family.

We have just returned from staying at Maribel Villas. We stayed at Villa No 8 and could not fault it. It is on the main road but the pool is situated at the back so not overlooked and very private. It is secure with a lockable white wooden gate and in the gardens there are space to get into other villas gardens but this is for pool cleaners etc. we used sun loungers up to stop our 18month old escaping! We are a family of 4, kids aged 3 and 18months and I found it very safe for them. There are stairs inside but I placed a chair at bottom to prevent him getting up - a baby gate would've been useful here. They provided a high chair and travel cot with a very comfy mattress so he was a happy boy with lots of nice wee afternoon naps (bliss) my 3 year old daughter loved the pool. There were 4 steps then it got deep but I always had a float on her and she played safely in the water and loved it.

Pool was clean and when we noticed the filter wasn't on we informed the cleaners and they phoned the pool guy and he came out within 20 mins and sorted it. Cleaners were lovely, very friendly and although they don't spend a lot of time cleaning just towel change, toilet rolls, make the beds and some bleach down the loo it was fine as being a villa I was making lunch etc anyway so was cleaning up as we went along. There is a spar at end of street that I found reasonable for convenience but a taxi can take you to Diskont supermarket which is maybe a 10 min drive but we never went so cant comment on price.

Cala Blanca itself is quiet. There are only a few bars/restaurants but suited us as we were going to chill out and make the most of the villa experience. We ate out for dinner and for us it was normally about €50 for a main meal and some beer/mojitos which very nice.

The kitchen was well equipped but there was a mini oven instead of proper oven but we only used it to warm crusty bread so didn't use it to cook.

Overall I could not fault this holiday. We booked through jet2 holidays and are even thinking of booking for next year.

If you are looking for a relaxing family villa then don't hesitate but if you want entertainment in the evening for kids then Cala Blanca may be a bit quiet for you. .

We visited in July with our two daughters (7 and 5) and grandparents. At the airport we were picked up by mini bus and taken to the car hire place to collect our cars. It was an easy drive to Cala Santandria where we stopped at the reception to collect our key before driving to the villa. We stayed in number 18 which was very private. The pool was a good size although be warned it's 2m almost straight away so our little one wore armbands constantly - they still loved it though and given it was 38 degrees at times it was a godsend. The villa was really good with 3 bedrooms. The bedroom upstairs was ensuite which was ideal for the grandparents leaving us with 2 bedrooms downstairs and a bathroom equipped with a bath/shower. Cleaning and towel changes seem to happen every 3 days and the pool weekly. We didn't seem to be affected by fallen leaves but the spa shop sells nets should you need to scoop! We did have to thoroughly clean the BBQ and we had to ask for more bowls and utensils (wasn't 6 of everything as expected) which were delivered promptly. The kettle had a mind if its own and seem to be constantly trying to boil so remember to unplug it! The hob was fine but the mini oven was close to useless, having said that we ate out most evenings and tended to have sandwiches etc for lunch. The air conditioning worked very well and was definitely needed in July. As for food etc the spa sold most things but if you have a car there are larger and cheaper supermarkets within a 10 minute drive. The beach was a 5 minute walk from our villa and was excellent. The sea remained fairly shallow for some distance making it safe for our children. Two pedalos on the beach which we went on twice. The sunbeds are expensive at 18 euros for 2 for the day so we bought mats and a parasol and sat on the sand which was absolutely fine. Best restaurant was Sa Nacro nr the beach. It's set in the caves with good views across the bay - best to book in high season. We drove to Cala n Bosch one night which was much more livelier if you like that kind of thing. Cuitadella also worth a visit both day and night. We were tempted with the water park but it was very expensive with no shade so we decided against it but we did stumble across two water slides in Cala Galdana (near the big tap) which suited our young girls much better and at about 5 euros for 28 goes it was much more cost effective! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and have already booked to return next year...can't wait.
