A lovely hotel, the food is amazing, the pool is beautiful and the staff are wonderful. The entertainment in the evening was very good as well. We had a really good holiday here, the location is good with shops and bars near by.

This is undoubtedly the best hotel in Costa Teguise and well worth its 5 star rating. You can visit even if not staying there and dine in the excellent restaurants. The buffet in the evening is outstanding and one of the best I have ever eaten. Once the meal is over, the show begins every night in the bar.

We stayed for 1 week in a Level Double room . The whole experience was far beyond our original expectations . We were greeted by Isabelle on The Level reception who checked us in and was very attentive during our stay . The hotel offers a very comfortable vacation environment in the Level area complimented by a personal service .It is nice to find a hotel that offers everything that you would want from a holiday -- We shall most certainly return .

Went to this hotel on an all-inclusive family break in late March. The tour operator was Thomson and it turned out to be very good value for money. The hotel is Seventies vintage, which means that its five star status may not satisfy those who stay at 7-star hotels in the Arabian Gulf or other new-builds offering a huge range of facilities. As someone who usually stayed at Casa Cucaracha when young, I'm more than happy with the place. We found that we enjoyed the best location in Costa Teguise, with the quirky Manrique designs in the public areas and the clever organisation of the rooms. This minimised noise and enhanced views and privacy.

We don't normally book all-inclusive, but it really pays here. Food is of an acceptable standard, especially if you go for the grilled fish or meat - ask Jorge to serve you the best offer of the evening. There were also some really nice starters, sushi or seafood based, and they serve cava to go with your breakfast. We got into the habit of ordering margaritas in the entertainment bar in the evening. The younger members of our party felt that the 'nightlife' element was a bit restricted, ending at around 11 pm, but you could continue to drink and chat for a while longer. In any case, we all went there to have a serious and much-needed chill-out, not to stay out until dawn.

In late March to early April, the pool area is not too crowded and we always managed to get loungers without difficulty. You don't get pool service as such, but you can order your drinks at the pool bar and take them to your lounger. We did this ad nauseam, testing the all-inclusive concept to destruction!

All staff were well-trained and helpful, with special mentions for Raquel in the dining area, whose competent, speedy and knowledgeable service did credit to the hotel. Also, I remember the older woman who also served in the dining room, especially at lunchtime, whose politeness and kindness was appreciated. Reception staff, especially Tomas, helped us when trying to find a restaurant to go to - no problem with the hotel food, but sometimes you need to get out for a change.

My only reservation about this hotel relates to an issue of safety, and this is why I'm not giving it five stars. Our room (Floor 1) had a balcony which had a wonderful view over the sea. However, it had an original wooden barrier protecting the edge, where prickly plants should have been grown to deter kids and young folk from wandering too near the edge. In the case of our room, these plants had died and not been replaced, leaving the possibility of someone getting over the edge. We noted that some rooms, including those of some of our party, had been renovated to include a thick glass screen, but quite a few rooms still have the wooden barrier. I understand that architecturally the hotel management may wish to keep these original Seventies features, which I also like. However, if they do wish to keep them, they must ensure an impenetrable barrier of prickly plants to protect customers and their families from accidents. This is an important point that the hotel needs to address.

Otherwise, this was a lovely experience. We didn't really think much of Costa Teguise as a resort, but if you are going there, this is the only place to stay. Quirky, weird gardens with (recorded?) frog noises at night, lovely big pool with bridges, and lots of individuality, which is what I love in a hotel. Part of the Melia chain, but decidedly a good place to stay. You can imagine Manrique, Saramago and pals getting mellow in the lounge here sometime in the early Nineties. Very nice experience and I would go again in spring.

Room Tip: The higher the better.
