“First Class, we intend to return.”

I have read many comments regarding the Blue bay “from both sides” in our experience, the check in and arrival was prompt and courteous, the room was as spacious well appointed very clean and maintained regularly, food was a great deal better than any other all inclusive we never found it repetative and the restaurant and bar staff were superb, issues brought up at reception were cleared instantly, the staff around the pool for entertaining were superb in their efforts as were the children’s club day and night, one issue were the tiles on the bottom of the pool, several children received cuts to their feet though to be fair the hotel was dealing with this, with three close beaches’, one was just a short stroll (don't fall for the long distance moans) the furthest apx a half mile walk or a free bus.
Not usually our sort of holiday, we ere more quiet locations villas etc rather than all in, but the Blue bay has opened us to try this again.

Room Tip: Quiet rooms next to the childrens club

Had a three night stay at bluebay lanzarote, and it was fab! Only issue was how cold the pool was but that's standard for march - good choice of food, entertainment wa so bad it was good - book through teletext and got a great deal for a really nice break in a lovely hotel - enjoy .

Wi fi is hotel reception only, ask what the offers are as we got three days for two euros.

We walked down to the beach every day and hired a sun bed and brolly for 5 euros each, beach was lovely, sand hot to your feet so wear something as you walk down to the sea, lots of lovely
Little rock pools with fish swimming in them. There were no shops nearby that I could find, had to buy my souvenirs from the airport which had a very good reasonably priced selection of local bits and pieces.

Flew with Ryan air, all transfers worked out well, great time !

After reading some negatives on this hotel we were a bit dubious. On arrival we were very pleasantly surprised - modern accommodation and facilities, all very clean. The restaurant staff are fantastic, all very friendly and efficient. Yes, the menu had some strange combinations but having stayed all incl elsewhere this seems to be the norm. Food was fresh, plentiful and always lots of salads and fruit. Pool bar was self-service and food counter had covers - chips, hotdogs, burgers etc with hot drinks, soft drinks, beer. The pool area etc was getting very busy (we departed 5/4/12) due to school hols. We used the courtesy bus to beach, although it only 20 min walk. Overall, a friendly and well-run hotel with good facilities, fairly close to resort centre. Go for it!

First things first, some people go on holiday and want something to complain about as their major goal. This hotel certainly isn't the best but it does a good job at what it says it does.

Positives

It is spotlessly clean. You are anal if you find any faults with this place. Rooms have tiled floors which are easy to keep clean, and maids and groundsman work tirelessly throughout the day.

The food is excellent. If you like fresh fish, meat etc then you will love it, if you like burgers and hot dogs you may struggle(although they are readily available in the poolside snackbar) Even the kids had plenty of choice. I agree the deserts aren't the best, but if this is your reason for not liking a holiday then you have serious problems.

The restaurant isn't the biggest, but the manager is superb at sorting your table and looking after you. It did get bust once the kids easter hols started, but i suppose this is to be expected, and the restaurant still coped.

The bar staff were great, especially Salim and Carlos, great humour, not easy when working hard. The pool bar is self service for beer and soft drinks, which is great for helping with the queues. Now onto the beer. For those that have said they couldn't get drunk, then they are lying. The beer is good, the sprits not in short measures. I like to enjoy myself on holiday, but not to the extent i'm an alcoholic. However, one night I couldn't find the right side of the bed to get in due to one too many! All those compaining can't have tried hard enough!

Negatives

The pool is cold, and probably in need of some TLC. However, it is bearable after a days sun, and shouldn't spoil your holiday.

Evening entertainment

The acts weren't great, but some of them made us laugh anyway due to their silleness. The hotel animation team tried really hard and were lovely people, but lacked a little direction. This arrived on the 5th day when a new head entertainer was brought in with 9 years experience. The place lifted due to her personality and the kids loved her. The hotel is on the up now.

Finally, the holiday is always about the people you meet. We were so lucky to be there with Ben and Sarah and Gary and Michelle and families, plus many others. This hotel was great value for money and we didn't want to come back.

Room Tip: room e225 outstanding afternnon/evening sun

just returned 5/4/12 Travelled as a family with 4 children ages 16,13,11,3 we had a fantastic time, older boys played football each day, pool, tennis, scuba diving in pool (all free) hotel and rooms spotless food excellent choice of food even for fussy eaters. entertainment good for children, we never stayed out that late abt10.30pm and took drinks back to appartment. we stayed in Block D overlooking the tennis and football pitches, so had no noise - from club at night, we never had a problem with sunbeds, pool cold at first but always are especially at this time of year. Looks like they are spending money in the area as planting trees and keeping them watered and looked after etc. big play parks a few mins walk from hotel (turn right from hotel entrance then right again down path then over main road following the other path which takes you on the promenade. would highly recommend this hotel staff are really friendly and the transfer time from airport is only abt 15mins. we wll deffinately return and have travelled to lots of places and this is in our top 5

Flew from LBA with Direct holidays £1200 for a week for 2 adults and an 11 year old.
Rooms nice and clean decent facilities, terrace, fridge everything you will need.
Tv rubbish virtually no english channels while i know no one goes away to watch tv it is nice to have something to chill out to watch.
Drink service good either served at the bar or selfservice at the pool bar lager drinkable mixer drinks while not strong were fine.OH said coffee/hot chocolate was drinkable.
Public areas are fine very clean pool very very cold though!!

Now the downside the food was shocking, the week we were there was although they had a bulk order of Liver and needed to get rid of it quick.Either fried to death or in some kind of gravy.Other culinary delights were some kind of Turkey roll in sauce one lunch that was just like mushy spam in taste.
Breakfast items included sprouts, sweetcorn, mixed veg.Edible bacon and you could get a fried egg chucked on your plate by the surly chef.
Highlights were a pork joint one night and pork steaks a couple of nights however one steak we got was virtually raw.Staff in the dining room were first class though.
Pool snack bar had fresh salad, cheese, freshly cooked chips if you avoided the first batch which were breakfast leftovers. However bread was past it and burgers were tasteless.

While not being food snobs in anyway we are quite happy eating at chain pubs in the UK i feel the hotel is let down by the food quality, which we heard may be getting worse due to tour operators slashing what they are willing to pay AI hotels to save costs thus having a knock on effect.
Have paid similar money before for all inclusive at Bahia Principe in Tenerife and the food was ten times better.
If you just want to go for a week and drink/eat anything youll love it.

Teguise is decent enough resort and can recommend La vaca loca steakhouse and the hacienda for decent food,

Just back from a weeks stay, travelled with Thomas Cook, very good flight out, on time and very good cabin crew, prebooked a taxi transfer to resort ,£36 for the return trip and no problems with that either. This hotel is really very good they rate it as 3* Thomas Cook rate it as 4* but does it really matter? The public areas, rooms and gardens are clean ,tidy and kept in very good order, the staff are friendly, happy and always smiling I think it is a nice touch that they greet you in the restaurant and show you to a table. The food on the whole was good especially the themed evenings, there is plenty of choice, for breakfast they cook eggs and pancakes to order at lunch omelettes are cooked to order and in the evening they cook fish and a choice of meat as well, there are plenty of other foods on offer and always plenty of salads and cold meats and cheeses, lots of fresh and tinned fruit also available. I thought the pool bar very good with burgers and sausages and chips but also loads of salads and cold meats and plenty of fruit, this was available all day long, the drinks available were very good and didnt seem at all watered down to me, i dont understand how anyone can complain as for all inculsive this is very good,
We have visited Lanzarote several times and normally stay in Playa Blanca, this is the first time we have been to Costa Tegusie and we werent impressed, compared to Playa Blanca it is quite run down and there is not much to do, we would like to return to this Hotel and wouldnt hesitate to recomend it,. but its a shame its not in Playa Blanca.
The only real complaint is check in at Lanzarote Airport which can only be described as chaos, we queued for over an hour to check in as there was only one desk open for about 4 flights, then had to queue again for security when we finally got through we were boarding no time even for a coffee.
