me and my friend booked this holiday just over a week in advance, paid roughly £500 each for all inclusive. We stayed in E block 120. We had a lovely apartment, no balcony just a terrace but this didnt bother us too much.

We booked our holiday through thomas cook, transfer was roughly 15 minutes. I had a lovely week away, im quite a fussy eater, yet i always found the food to be fresh and nice always something to choose from.

it took myself and my friend 3 days until we realised that the entertainment actually took place in another block to the main building. we were never told of this and were stupid enough not to question it until the 3rd evening when we couldnt understand why the bar to the main building was so empty!

we were amazed by the beach we found on the second day, roughly 15 min walk, it was so calm and no wind or waves what so ever. For the majority of the holiday it was fairly breezy so this was the only day that we really got away with being on the beach without getting sand blown into every crevice possible.

All in all i had a lovely holiday, perfect for couples but would have had a slightly better time if there was more to do at times.

only complaints would be - our shower drain smelt quite bad on a daily basis regardless of complaining. The beds are very hard, as are the sun beds.

The majority of the chefs, and waiters are lovely!!

Room Tip: Block E is a perfect location however avoid possible the bottom as people above can be loud, and the...

We stayed for 10 nights through cosmos and got such a good deal I couldn't resist. We usually go to 4* hotels, but after staying at the BlueBay it was really not too different from previous hotels I've stayed in in the past.

You have to pay for a safe, I think it's 3.30 euros per day. You also have to pay for beach towels and there are plastic sun loungers. These seemed to be the biggest differences in comparison to a 4* hotel.

I would suggest taking two beach towels if possible as the sun loungers are quite uncomfortable, but it is only a minor issue.

Food was really tasty, slightly salty, but there was always something to chose and was really impressed. Yes it can be a bit repetitive but what do people really expect when you go to an all inclusive?

The town of Costs Teguise is a 10-15 min walk where there are plenty of restaurants to chose from if you want a change from the food. Or right in front of the hotel is Playa Bastian, a nice sized beach with a few restaurants to chose from there too.

Overall I was really pleased with our stay. Nice food, good selection of drinks and alcohol, clean spacious room and friendly waiters and bar staff!

First of all I would like to give a few people a tip before booking this hotel.
On talking to other guests at the hotel, they were all saying about how much they paid with Thomas Cook, Thomson, & other Uk websites, etc.
I booked direct with the hotel, & paid only £275 for the two of us to go on All Inclusive.
{not each}. Be brave & book direct.

Reception - very efficient booking in system, extremely helpful staff, only minor problem was that our flight arrived @10.30 am & rooms are not ready until after midday.
However we were given our AI bracelts & told to use all the facilities.

Room - fairly large kitchen area with a table & 4 chairs & all requirements for a self catering stay. This area combines into a sitting area with a large settee & tv.
The tv has limited channels, but a card can be bought in reception if you so desire.
We had a seperate bedroom with x 2 single beds pushed together & plenty of wardrobe space & a large table.
The bathroom however, was quite small, it had a shower cubicle, toilet & sink with a small shelf at the back of them. There was no shelving to put the towels or toiletries. The shower does tend to leak onto the bathroom floor if you have it at full power. {We did report it to reception, but it seems it is a common theme in all the rooms}.
Overall the room was satisfactory.

Pool area - good size pool with a seperate childrens pool, plenty of sunbeds & as previous reviews have mentioned these are quite hard plastic. We were quite lucky as there seems to be a rolling sytem going on where guests have purchased lilos & on leaving they are passing them onto new guests. Tip - if you are new ,get talking to someone who is lying on a lilo & looks quite tanned, they are probably going home soon.

Pool bar - staff here are extremely helpful & were always in good humour, it is self serve for most drinks & there is food served from 103.00 - 5..30pm {snacks}.
Piano Bar - again staff here were efficient, helpful & cheerful, little Raul is a bit of a flirt, but a good character.
Theatre - most of the staff swap & change from the above bars,
There was a good selection of entertaiment on if you wanted to go in there.

Restaurant - again staff were helpful & worked extremely hard in here.
Overall we found that the food in here was of a quite a good selection & standard, everything was hot, a quick turn-around if it run out & when the chef was cooking, he would always have a chat & give you fresh meat if required.
My only dissapointment was at breakfast, there was no egg station, each day there was only one selection pre-cooked {eg - scrambled eggs one day, spanish omelette the next etc.} most hotels have a station where they will cook to order what eggs you want.

Spa - did not use this facility, but heard it was pretty good.

Location - on the main road about 15 minutes walk into the main square of Costa Teguise
The nearest beach is approx 10 mins walk, with the larger beaches in the main square area.

Overall - Very clean hotel, staff work hard, are helpful & generally cheerful, a good 3.5* hotel.
Would I stay here again - yes if the price was right.

Room Tip: If you like the sun all day, but don`t want to sit around the pool area, then Block B upper floor. T...

Stayed for 2 weeks from 19th June. Family with 2 children 4 and 6. Rooms basic need more storage space. Beds extremely uncomfortable no mattres protectors on any beds. Shower leaked all over floor. Maid in ever day accept wed. She made beds and replaced towels. The room could have done with a good clean dust under beds and round door corners. Problem with Ants in room. Food is very repative not a lot of choice. Ended up eating out 5 nights out of 14 as do not cater for children very well. Plates in restaurant chipped.Closed the children's pool 11 days into our 2 week holiday with no notification to replace tiles.Which yes needed done but should have been done in low season. Costa Teguise is nice.15 minutes walk into town. Very windy though. Would return but not to this hotel.

We stayed at the Bluebay as a couple (in our early fifties) for a week starting on 19th June 2014.
We only booked 10 days before travelling and got a very good price through Monarch holidays. We had done some research before traveliing so had an idea of what to expect.
We didn't include transfers in our package but chose to get a taxi at the airport. Taxi cost 24 euros (including a tip) and we we had eaten dinner, had unpacked and were sat in the bar with a drink while others from our plane were just arriving on a transfer bus.
The outstanding part of this hotel are the staff, The reception staff, resaurant/bar staff, cleaning staff etc. were very friendly and hgelpful. All seem to go out of ther way to help if needd. The only exception was the staff in the small shop who were not very friendly or polite when I went in to buy a newspaper every morning.
We were allocated room 205 in B block which was very clean and a decent size for our needs. Only downpoints here were lack of drawere space in the bedroom area, the showere kept constantly changing temperature no matter what it was set at. We did have an issue on a couple of ocasions with cockroaches, we were offered a room change (which we declined) but it was dealt with very well by the reception staff Special thanks to Ira (A lovely Basque lady) for helping us.
Hotel guests while we were there included couples (young and old) and families, there really is something for everyone.
The hotel location is not so good but we only left the complex once a day for a walk into the resort after dinner and to call into Monicas bar around the corner to catch up with the world cup and to use the free wifi - note to hotel management, Free wifi would really make the Bluebay stand out from other hotels.
The pool area is lovely and clean but there is an issue with missing tiles in the pool as mentioned in other reviews. A big dowside for us were the hard, uncomfortable sunbeds - why should we have to pay extra for sunbed matrasses and lilos to make them bearable. There was an issue with people reserving sunbeds (especially those with parasols) despite hotel rules discouraging it.
The pool bar all inclusive drinks arrangement works very well (self service for beer and soft drinks) and the drinks service in the bar and the entertainment venue is very good. The pool bar also has snacks available from 10.30 through to 17.30 with a basic buffet of burgers, chips, hotdogs, salads etc although on the couple of occasions we tried it the food was lukewarm at best.
Biggest let down for us was the quality of the restaurant food, there was a good variety but tended to be poor quality and was obviously restricted by budget restraints. I was disappointed at breakfast time as this is the only spanish hotel I have ever stayed in that doe not do fried eggs every morning. Fried eggs were only available on 3 of the mornings we were there and the 'chef' would crack the eggs onto his griddle and then disppear for 10 minutes while they fried to a crisp leaving them inedible for me. My wife was disappointed with the sweet selection compared to other Spanish hotels we have stayed in.
Highlights for me foodwise were the evening roast pork was on the menu (excellent crackling) and the availability of late night toasties in the restaurant is a great idea that works well but not many people took advantage of it.
We had an enjoyable stay and our expectations were met, overall felt we got good value for money at a hotel where the management should be proud of the staff and with just a little bit more effort would earn an excellent rating.
I don't think we will return.
