Just returned from 11 nights at Coronas Playa. Rooms very spacious even with 3 adults in I room 3rd bed a normal bed not a camp bed or sofa bed. Only problem was we met up with friends bookings should have been cross referenced so we got rooms close to each other ended up couldn't have been further apart hotel had no record of this so need to email hotel direct with any requests. Good selection of food at breakfast and evening meal(we stayed half board) all nice and hot with warm plates at all mealtimes. If staying half board and want lunch go to Food Express at front of hotel lovely food great value for money great service, it is run by a really nice English couple. Although it was very windy during our stay our balcony by the lower pool was a suntrap with sun all day. All the staff where very friendly.

I've stayed at this hotel 3 times before and knew that my boyfriend and I needed some R&R and that's exactly what we got.
I read the reviews before I went and as I haven't stayed here for the last 3 years was a little concerned at some peoples comments.......................................ALL I CAN SAY IS.........IF YOU WANT A 5 STAR HOTEL THEN PAY THE MONEY! I really do think that the Coronas Playa offers you great value for money and is a delightful place to stay.
We requested a certain room over looking the bottom pool and we got it, great for afternoon sunshine on the balcony.
The food was excellent, quality and quantity wasn't an issue, piping hot on scorching hotplates (great to see) Something on offer for everyone, plenty of different meats and fish every evening. We went AI and the lunches were delicious in the Crown Restaurant - especially the BBQ they did one day. All the spirits are international which was enjoyable and makes a change, not your Spanish equivalent vodka, gin etc - we were drinking Bombay Sapphire, Smirnoff etc. Ice-creams, coffees and cocktails are included on the AI aswell :0)
The gym in the block next door was great value for money at only 20euro for the week with plenty of excellent quality equipment and weights.

But the highlight of our holiday was the entertainers: You really couldn't have met a better bunch of hard working, professional, smiley people. They worked their socks off all day and all evening and did it with such a great manner and a cheeky smile on their faces. Stacey & Deano were bought in to help the very talented Shaneece and between the 3 of them they made the best Thomson Gold Team I've ever seen (and I've visited a fair few) These 3 will definitely go far and beyond Thomson in the future I'm sure.

A fabulous hotel in a great location, lovely hardworking hotel staff who recognise you from previous visits, clean and tidy - yes a little dated in places (furniture in the monkey bar)
For a chillout week in March with some sun (and a bit of wind!) what more could we have asked for!

Room Tip: If you like afternoon sun and doing the poolside quiz at 4pm then room 427-446 is the best option - no-one above you clomping in high heels!

This was our first visit, this is a beautiful hotel yards from the sea. From the moment we checked in you felt that this was a happy place. Very pleased with the room No. 324 which was very large and overlooked the bottom pool, sunshine on the balcony from 11.00 every day which was equipped with 2 sunbeds and a table and chairs . All in all the staff were great every where you went from reception to restaurant, bars etc. would like to especially mention Nati and Soula at the restaurant who warmly greeted you every night. The food we had was very good with plenty of choice but as far as we were concerned it was too english, would have liked more Spanish/Canarian influence with the food.

The professional entertainment in the evening was of a very high standard with the exception of the Country and Western singer who was very poor. The Elvis impersonator was excellent, he certainly had the whole place rocking, he had so many encores overran by 30 mins. Il Quattro were superb, their Queen medley was thoroughly enjoyed. Explosion and the Chinese acrobats were also very professional.

The resident duo "Without a doubt" (John & Helen) were most enjoyable and had a good interface with the audience. The hosts Dino and Stacey again were excellent it was a shame to hear that they were leaving.

I would also like to thank Hannah & Charlotte the Thomson advisor's who went out of their way to ensure everything was all right and you were OK. A nice touch was the birthday card received from them.

There are a couple of little things that that I think need looking into, 1) Why is there a shortage of cushion pads in the restaurant as there is not enough for every seat. 2) In a hotel of this quality I do not expect to pay for use of a kettle in the room.

Would certainly think about going again.

Just back from our 3rd visit to the Coronas Playa. Hotel is about 30 min trip from the airport. Thoroughly enjoyed the 10 days, and found the staff to be as friendly as ever. It is a very clean, well managed hotel with a good range of well cooked food at every meal time. Bedrooms are large, and are all getting new flat screen TVs. The entertainment team were superb and the standard of the professional acts was excellent.( Il Quattro, Drifters tribute , Elvis act - all were very good.)
Some parts of Hotel were being refreshed/ repainted but this was done efficiently with very little impact on guests.
Overall, a great holiday at a very friendly hotel ( both staff and fellow guests ).
Will certainly go again.

Room Tip: Rooms on left side of upper pool get sun on balcony from 10.00 until early evening

Just returned from Coronas Playa and I must say that it is a good hotel. The bedroom was extremely large and kept very clean and had a large balcony with table and chairs and two loungers. . Ours was cleaned by Margo who was extremely friendly and was always happy and smiling - she was great. The food was very good and plenty of choice and all the staff were cheerful and very helpful - especially Natty. Check in was quick as we were in a select room. Many guests come to this hotel at least once a year and sometimes more. We also found that the bar prices were good (as we were not all inclusive). Whilst we were there a new flat screen television was installed in our bedroom but unfortunately we could still only get news programmes and a horror station. I really cannot understand why small bars and cafes get a lot more television stations when a GOLD HOTEL cannot provide its guests with better programmes. We were lucky we went out most of the time visiting other parts of the Island.

A very good trip was with Last Minute Travel (which was just along the road from the hotel) and they took us on a full day tour of the Island including Tamanfaya which was marvellous and was so much cheaper than Thomsons prices. We also went with them to Fortuventura for another day trip and this was good as well.

The hotel could do with some updating and I would suggest that they had better seating and more of it in the reception as when it is changeover days there are not enough seats for people waiting for coaches. The seating area is quite small for a hotel of this size,

Room Tip: We were in a select room 424 which had a seaview but unfortunately did not have sun after about 3 o'clock in the afternoon.
