“Fabulous and relaxing break”
Reviewed 5 August 2011

We had a lovely relaxing needed break in the Beatriz Costa Teguise.
Plenty of facilities to keep all the children occupied, mini golf, volley ball, boules, table tennis etc...
Rooms were spacious, comfortable and cool.
Pool area was lovely, never felt overcrowded or busy. The salt water pool was kept immaculately clean and I found it more refreshing and relaxing than other types of pools.
AI facilities were also very good and once again having experienced many AI hotels I was surprised at how the hotel public areas were kept so clean.
The hotel is out of the centre but we enjoyed the stroll down to town was needed after indulging so much. Anyway, the taxi ride back was not expensive.

Room Tip: low floor for pool views. Cant foresee issues with noise.

I choose this hotel by the reviews on site and the managers input to each person who wrote something on this page as I thought that showed it was caring and helping staff we were getting.
That was a joke yes we were not treated right staff ignored you all the time pretended they never spoke our language . Soon as spanish group came in rush to tables with botle water drinks etc, Im telling you we got non of that we chased staff about to get drink from the min we got there till the min we left.
Food was ok but always ran out no matter what time we went down as we thought it was us at 1st.
Few days we went on like this until we went to paino bar got the rude bartender who ignored us all at bar time and time again.Served the people who had money and ignored holiday makers who had blue all incusive bands on.
Had an arguement with this boy (Moise) and he was very rude and in my face telling me was not his problem.
Complained to management that was joke few days later i was still chasing him around to get some aknowledgement i had even put a coplaint in at all.
Waist of time this place and money not only staff awful but so far out you need hiking boots.

this hotel is wonderfull!!! The hotel was quiet and this may have been the time of year.
Rooms: the rooms are a nice size with huge wardrobe space, the maids make towel models on your bed everyday also.
Pools: there are two main pools and a baby pool. one pool is heated and the other is not, they start shallow and become quite deep. there are plenty of sunbeds around the pool area and there was no need to get up and reserve.
Activities: the hotel have a time table of activities including; mini golf, vollyball, football, rifle shooting, darts, tennis and more.
Food: the food here is amazing, they have themed nights inbetween traditional canary nights. we had oriental night, italian night and more. Breakfast is a full english with a chef cooking fresh omlets. in the evening the chef cooks meats to your preference. we stayed half-board so i do not no what lunch was like.
staff: they were all very freindly and remember you, by about day 3 the waiters knew what drinks we would like.
Location: about a 20min walk to the town and main beach, lovely stroll, further around the front from the main beach there is a bay with millions of fish, if you buy a cheap baggette from a supermarket and brek it up fish will leap to get it. absolutly beautiful.
- i didnt use the spa.

Room Tip: entertainment is inside the hotel so if you want an early night or have children ask for a room away...

PRO's - The Spa is superb. Hotel staff do their best and are constantly overworked. Rooms are a good size (in our case we had a double room on the 2nd floor). Room was also very quiet and could hear nothing once retired for the night.
CON's - The management would be better off ditching their suits/high heels and get their hands dirty. The restaurant Maitre d' was a joke and likewise should have just been a waiter. Watch out for the ice berg's if you are brave enough to enter the pool. No air con in public areas (bars & restaurant included). Get ready to fight for your food (especially at breakfast) and thats once you have found a table.
SUMMARY - I will NEVER go All Inclusive ever again. I rate this hotel a 3.9 star

Room Tip: Ask for a double room

Mixed views from our mixed age group/party and too much to mention so going to break from my usual anecdotes and TRY to stick to bullet points here.

Please bear in mind though, that I'm not going to catalogue everything as other recent reviews have been quite comprehensive and there are after all, some standard expectations from a 4* that this hotel does meet, but as you'll see; many that it sadly doesn't >>>

NOTEABLE GOOD POINTS:
- Spacious room size
- Carpeted floors in the rooms kept noise levels peacefully low
- Additional beds were proper beds (not sofabeds)
- Sheets were super-soft; lovely if you've suffered a little too much sun!
- Generously-sized, quality pillows
- Large private balconies with views over pool and distant sea
- Spa (Free with AI or 11 Euros pp for resident guests)
- Coach service to the town (although this only ran during morning then late afternoon)
- Extensive pool area which is relatively quiet***

NOTEABLE BAD POINTS:
- Rooms NEVER vacuumed our entire 2 week stay so floors got gritty and unpleasant.
- Daily 3 Euros hire for a Safe
-15 Euros for use of the Fridge.
- A room kettle is extra (Euros?) too but this is common in Mediterranean countries.
- Beds were rock hard (or you could say they are orthopedically therapeutic?)
- Lots of sunbeds, but not quite enough (and too many 6am towel-layers ...)
- All hard landscaping meant there was nowhere to lay out a towel if you can't get a bed.
- The pool temperatures vary from bracing to arctic and are mostly unused***
- Standards of dress code inside the hotel were not uniformly upheld by management.
- No separate A LA CARTE restaurant or dedicated waiter service ......

.. although we were lucky, we found Christian to be helpful and attentive - thank heavens!

It's such a shame as by far the main reason that I would suggest you steer well clear of this hotel is that the restaurant is so poorly run with everyone allowed to simply drift in creating a multi-storey car park mentality of finding somewhere suitable to 'park' yourselves.

Doesn't this happen in all buffet service hotels though?
.... err .. no. Not like this ...

Top-Tip to Diners:
Don't automatically join queues around the hot food stations. Use your 'get-out-of-jail-free-card' and skip to the front of each one, to check that you're not just in the endless rotating line for chips.

Top-Tip to Restaurateurs:
Have a separate island for chips and effectively free up the entire hot meat and veg area.

Breakfast is the worst, as trying to attract a waiter's attention is an art form in itself and even when you do, they simply say 'OK' or 'someone will come' ....

Don't be fooled though, as of course this is never the case, no matter how patiently you wait.

Be prepared to be forthright and persistent too, as this is just the 1st waiter you will 'need' ... this one will just clear the table.
This same operation needs to be repeated several times as the table-clearer doesn't return to do anything else.
You'll need another 'different' waiter to change the tablecloth.
Then you'll need to attract the attention of yet another to lay the table ...
...and then again another to bring coffee ..

... and so on and so on ....

All in all, you need to be a party of at least 6 people to manage to position yourselves in such a way as to make it virtually impossible for at least one of the scurrying waiters to judiciously ignore your pleading gestures or beckoning entreats for any one of them to P-L-E-A-S-E prepare just ONE ... or simply ANY complete table setting in order that you can eat your breakfast ... and don't expect your coffee to arrive until you've finished everything and are about to leave, by which time, you may get 2 waiters offering you 2 pots (by way of compensation somehow?) Bless their logic ...

Don't bother with what passes as 'juice' either to while away your time.
Prepare to be patient ...This hotel excels in restaurant 'waiting' .................

Room Tip: Quieter rooms overlook the piano bar, but the 'noisy' entertainment ends at 11pm prompt anyw...

People that are rating this as a 1 star are really over dramatizing! It wasn't that bad, the check-in was fine the staff where friendly and our suitcases got carried to our room so we didn't have to carry them which was good. We didn't realize that this was a mostly Spanish hotel which was a down-side as I find them very stuck up and rude, they look at you like your rubbish! The food was ok, the plates where a little dirty though, if you got to tea early then you wouldn't have to wait in the long ques which was good. The pool was VERY cold although there was quite a-lot of people in it, the entertainment was extremely annoying and rubbish.. The karaoke man an women that where on EVERY night could not sing, nearly defend me, I could hardly bare it! The children's entertainment didn't start till half 10! which was late as children get ratty at this time or asleep, then after that when it was FINALLY over, the hygiene was OK... I did see a few cockroaches and mosquitoes but i guess you get that in every hot country you visit, the Spanish where awfully rude... the weather was very hot though.
Over-all i would not return to this hotel, I wouldn't rate it a 4 star as its suppost to be though.

just returned from a week AI in beatriz costa, travelled with partner and 14 year old daughter,we arrived about 9pm, i asked to be moved to another room as our room (19) was shadowed by a huge tree, reception obliged the next day and we got a lovely room, which we found very comfy, spacious and relaxing, cleaned every day and fresh towels. Found the food ok but defo not 4 star standard in my oppinion, the hygene standard was not too good i thought, breakfast was the best meal ,snacks at pool bar were very basic and same all week.Had to hire the fridge in your room which i thought a bit much also a kettle if you wanted one, you could only get bottled water from the bar in the evening but no where to keep it cool in your room.Pool water was very cold and did put you off going in it,felt sorry for little ones and parents. The spa was very nice, we went every day ,at least the water was warm, the gym was very basic, the running machine kept stopping .The bars got very warm in the evening as did the restaurant. The evening entertainment was not great but ok, the bar closes eleven pm and will not serve a moment later, the fizzy drinks were very flat. Before i booked the holiday i read the reviews on here and they were very good but having read them lately they have become very poor and disappointing and would have perhaps looked at other deals as we paid quite alot for the holiday.I must say tho i found the holiday very relaxing and enjoyed it but would have expected more for my money in a 4 star hotel

First at all thanks for your comments. We are pleased that you enjoyed your vacation here
We wanted to reply regarding the swimming pool is not heated during the summer months which is usual here in Lanzarote, the temperature of the pool varies between 22 and 24 degrees Celsius.
We will continue working to improve and get back to see you soon
