“Great Holiday”
Reviewed 4 November 2011

We stayed at the Santa Rosa for a week at the end of October. I chose this complex based on the reviews on trip advisor and we were not disappointed at all. We were lucky to be placed in one of the ground level bungalows, The entire place was kept immaculate and the place was being maintained constantly. We were booked half board and again no fault could be found. Proper sausages at breakfast and plenty of choice of good quality food at dinner times...All staff were very pleasant and helpful...Do not have one negative thing to say about Santa Rosa, in fact enjoyed it that much we plan on returning in a few months time

Room Tip: ask for a ground floor bungalow

I stayed at the Santa Rosa for 1 week in Oct 2011 with my boyfriend and we really enjoyed it.

Good Points:

Really nice bungalow style apartments, they are very clean, spacious, well equipped & comfortable.

Beautiful, very clean, well maintained gardens & surroundings.

Good pool side bar with friendly staff, serves hot & cold food, snacks, icecreams, good variety of drinks all reasonably priced with Happy Hour 4pm-6pm everyday (BOGOF) plenty of table & chairs & some toilets.

Really big salt water pool & terrace with plenty of decent sunbeds, seperate kids pool, a few umberella's & 2 poolside showers.

Daily pool entertainment, water polo & quiz games etc..

Really nice restaurant with friendly helpful staff, great food, so would defo recommend to go B&B or Half Board.

Good entertainment..Temping bowling, pool tables, football tables, tennis court, mini golf, bouncy castle, outdoor play park, indoor soft play area, music, kids disco, bingo, quizzes etc..

Bad Points:

The Reception Staff are so miserable & unfriendly and they didn't even say thank you for our stay when I handed back our room key when we was leaving, which I thought was rude and really off putting. They really need to learn some better customer service skills and how to crack a smile.

They don't light the pool up at night, which can be a danger hazard, especially if your drunk, anyone could easily fall in, as it's that big and dark. Plus I think it gives the hotel a really nice effect when the pool is lit up at night. This is the only place i've stayed where the pool isn't lit up at night. Get it lit up!!

The location is a 20 min walk from the main nightlife & restaurants and a 30 min walk to the main best beach. There is a few bars/pubs & restaurants outside the hotel but they're as dead as a door nail, maybe this was due to time of season.

All in all great hotel for a 3 star, better than i expected anyway. Hotel suits everyone, Families, Couples & kids.

Room Tip: Ask for a Bungalow style room away from the pool, they're really quiet & private.

A day back from the blue skies of Costa Teguise with husband and 2 children 6,8. Santa Rosa is a lovely complex, I didn't think the apartments looked to Tired/outdated, we had a 1st floor appt with balcony, it's ideal for the amount of time you spend in the appt. It has all the essentials microwave/fridge/toaster/kettle small T.V. Bath/shower and there are even a couple of soaps/shower gels/shampoos provided. Fan for hire E15 a week, safe 2.80 a day, hairdryer E5 deposit and gym key E5 deposit. My only issue would be the wardrobe space is bit limited for 4 sharing, but you manage.
There is a good size cold salty water swimming pool (my kids never left it) and a baby pool, a bouncy castle right beside it and a small bar that also does food e.g burgers/chips/pizza, also in that area is a playground with swing and seesaw/rockers for the kids, and behind the reception there is a mini golf area, 3 tennis courts, downstairs there is a bowling alley (e3.80 pp) and a kids ball pond/pit area (free for SR customers show your key) open in the evenings 4-9 sat/sun 12-9 and it is in this area there is the evening entertainment. Happy hour was 4-6 at the pool bar and 9-10pm in the bowling bar. There are several pool tables, fooze ball tables and air hockey in the complex. There is also some day time entertainment kids football, and water polo provided by the lovely christopher who seemed to work ever day and night.
We found it hard to get sun loungers they were all gone by 10am - towels left on them - people go for a siesta and leave there towels, that drives me mad.
Our appt was cleaned every 2nd day including clean towels.
There are two small supermarkets nearby one to the left (hyperdino) and one to the right (spar) and a taxi rank across from hyperdino, the entrance to playa blastian is also near the taxi rank and the prom is there.
We didnt eat in the resorts restaurant - so cant comment, but did take recommendations from here for other restaurants.

Fishermans Inn - V good
Hollywood - OK - maybe not my type of food burgers/chips/ mostly fried food good value and portions are big, the started we had was huge, its a big spacious bar.
Oscars - V good - expensive - my husband and kids felt uncomfortable there - so they told me the next day.
Navarro - Excellent - you have to book even in October we booked, a select menu with some specials it is dearer than other restaurants but the food was just fab. We paid about E80 one night and E100 the next for 4 of us 3 course with wine and beer and soft drinks.
Had dinner in Costa Plaza night also cant remember name of restaurant an italian was good also and reasonable
Texas Rancho show one night also - buffet style food was better than some shows that have food
Steptoes - had breakfast there and a lunch time sandwich was good -staff are friendly

We booked last minute transfers for our trip too and from the airport - got from the airport ok but on our return a 5am pickup our driver never showed up and all the numbers were turned off - at 5.20 we had to get a taxi, which was ok as it was there in a matter of minutes but in peak season it may not, have since spoken to last minute transfers but never found out what happened a refund is been issued. Also used them for our trips out and about, as I said did the Texas Rancho night it was good, dinner included and when it said plenty of beer/sangria there was, normally you get one pitcher but they were flowing on the night we went.
We also did the Short South Tour, it was enjoyable, had a camel ride E6pp extra & optional and pay when you get to the area, and then its a trip around the volcano's and the national park and then to a local winery (not much to see/do there) and then it's back to the complex but you get to see some of the island.
There is an waterpark in the area also, but reception told us is was closed but then we passed it on the bus tour and it was open, maybe it closes for the winter.
We did the aquarium in Costa Teguise, we had a rainy afternoon, depends if you like aquariums E12 adult, E8 children.
Overall had a lovely time, ideal location for us as a family, with plenty of nice restaurants/bars within walking distance. Hope to return.

Room Tip: Get a fan its worth it and book both oscars and navarro if you like nice food

We spent a very enjoyable week at Santa Rosa in October - weather was great for extended lounging!. We had a 2-bed bungalow style accommodation in a quiet location. The bungalow is simple but overall a good size. If you were self-catering the facilities are limited to make other than very simple meals - plenty of restaurants on the doorstep as well as a small supermarket - .but we went half board The food was good (it's simple buffet style fare) and there was plenty of it - how we didn't put on weight I don't know! Our two teenagers were very taken by the entertainment block with the 8-ball pool, air hockey etc. We also found the staff very friendly and helpful. We did find the Teguise Market a waste of time (Last Minute centre up the road will get you there a lot cheaper than the hotel if you do go) but maybe just not our cup of tea. Beds are on the firm side but we all slept fine. The only negative was the pool was freezing - the sea felt warmer (and decent snorkelling)! However overall we'd happily recommend Santa Rosa.

just back from a great holiday in the Santa Rosa 14 to 21 Oct. 2011. Collected by Last Minute Transfers at the airport ( 20 euro return 2 pers will be using them in the future) and 15 mins later was at the Santa Rosa. I met Alex at reception, she was pleasant, very helpful and could'nt do enough to improve your stay. Stayed in apt 1033 by the pool. The apt was bright, airy and clean, certainly large enough for two. It had a 2 ring cooker, kettle, toaster, fridge, microwave and plenty of crockery and cutlery. It was cleaned every other day with with towels changed as well, bed linen was changed once. The pool was salty which I liked, but the water was very cold which I did'nt. The Santa Rosa also has a happy hour between 1700 hrs and 1900 hrs. We had a buffet breakfast in the resteaurent with a good selection to choose from. The location of the Santa Rosa is in my opinion ideal, close to a varied selection of eateries and bars. A short walk away down a private road is a lovely walk along the promenade (2 km max ) to the main resort of Costa Teguise. Here there is a larger selection of resteaurents and bars to cater to most tastes. Prices are very good B/fast 3.50 euro. Large beer 3 euro. Taxi 2.50 to 3.50 euro excl tip. Chinese buffet 4.50 to 5.00 euro. .In Oct there was still a good selection of pub entertanement. We enjoyed our time in the Dolphin inn and the Cavern. The weather was great, sunny most of the time and no rain. Day time temp. between 26 and 30 C and was still quite warm at night. Will be returning to the Santa Rosa in Feb 2012

Room Tip: rooms further from the pool area have a sunnier aspect

Had a great stay at the Santa Rosa where the staff were always friendly and keen to help. First night we arrived there was no cot, however after querying this, one arrived within 10 mins and for the rest of the stay we had no problems at all. Although fairly basic apartments they were very clean and set out in a low rise bungalow style.
Nice swimming pools and great for the kids complete witha mini bouncy castle which our toddler loved.
Some great restaurants nearby, would recommend Oscars and Nina's cafe. Do not eat at La Hacienda near the centre where the portions were miserly (salad admittedly) and the service not good.
All in all definitely would go back!

Room Tip: Try and avoid a room by swimming pools

We originally went to Santa Rosa in January 2011, a treat from our Daughter. We went back in July 2011, and our other Daughter and her 2 children, aged 4 yrs and 8 yrs, came along with us, as well as our Son.
We had a wonderful week, and Santa Rosa didn't let us down. We enjoyed our week as a mature couple on our own initially., and could see lots of advantages for a family holiday., and so had recommended it to the rest of the family. There was so much to do, and great fun around the pool, with a bouncy castle too, as well as swings etc., Entertainment for the children every night, and we had a day out to Peurto del Carmen on the bus which was fab. Our son and grandson visited the Aquarium and said it was amazing, just on the front at Costa Teguise. The only tears were when we had to go home!!! The pool was cold again.... but that didn't keep the kids out!!!

Room Tip: We had a first floor apartment the first visit., which was studio lay out and had a large veranda ov...
