apartments were filthy my granddaughter was crawling and every day she was black from the floors they were cleaned once with a really smelly mop i had to spray to get ride of the smell, we had a nurse next door who had to travel to the reception every day to use the loo and she would not use the one in the apartment
Entertainment was in a bowling alley which was open to the public where the locals use for kids birthday parties really busy and noisy you have to really keep an eye on the kids the mini disco was half hr long with wheels on the bus songs not good for little ones
Pool salt water not good for kids.
Entertainment staff is one person who I cant fault she is wasted at santa rosa , again she really tried but we played guess who, bingo and a quiz night at the other entertainment spot in the indoor swimming pool bar .We tried to get a move straight away but were advised nothing else available. Every one looked really miserable please trust me all the good reviews were clearly from the private part of the complex as all the people waiting on the bus home were all staying they wont be back we flew with jet2 they really need to pull out of this place

My husband and I were looking for a cheap holiday in an ok resort for spring. We found this place for a very good price through alpha rooms and were excited to book it because the reviews were so good.
We arrived to Santa Rosa a couple of hours early and we were told our room wasn't ready so come back in an hour. We went out for lunch and came back a couple of hours later and the room wasn't ready. I have to admit the woman at reception was very rude at this point so we waited by the pool till she gave us our key and when we turned up at our room the cleaner was still working on it. So a few hours later we finally made it into our room.

The room itself was pretty terrible, on the second floor to the right of the building, 2014. It smelled moldy, the sheets were in tatters, the shower curtain was Brown and the cupboard was so dusty I couldn't put my clothes away. The wind blowing through the apartment made it impossible to sleep or spend any time on the balcony. If they offer you this room just say no!

After two nights I was fed up and when I saw the other rooms that the cleaners were working on I could tell we were given a poor room. I asked for a new room and I admit the manager was very nice and offered it to me right away. The new room, 2005, was great. Very big apartment, clean bathroom, protected from the wind. Couldn't fault it really.

On other notes about this place. The food was good, the pool was nice and I really liked the area. I would go back to Santa Rosa if I could guarantee the room I stayed in.

We have just returned from a weeks break at the Santa Rosa and were very happy with every aspect of our holiday. We had quite low expectations as this was quite a cheap holiday and the reviews on this site have been quite mixed - I think this is mainly due to the apartment people get allocated.

We were given a one bedroom bungalow (1002) near reception overlooking the pool and were very pleased with this position. The apartment was a good size and kept clean. We had no problems receiving the wifi signal though it was a bit slow at times. The English channels were good to have, though BBC1 reception wasn't always available. My only issue with the room was the lack of drawers, though there were some shelfs at the bottom of the wardrobe.

We really liked the resort especially the long walks along the seafront and all the different beaches. We ate at the local restaurants near the apartments most evenings. The Sports Bar with the Hollywood Diner opposite was excellent for steaks, but our favourite place was the local tapas bar next to the supermarket (Casa Luis) which was superb!

The grounds as mentioned previously are well kept and the pool area is large with loads of sunbeds available at all times. The pool bar/cafe was also better than I expected with a good choice of either healthy salads or sandwiches, etc all made freshly by the very hard working staff.

I would recommend these apartments for mature couples or families with young children.

Room Tip: The bungalows near reception are nice and quiet and get sun most of the day

We had a one bedroom apartment on the second floor. There were no South facing apartments available. We got the sun in the morning. It is very windy and there is little shelter around the pool. Providing wind breaks would be a good option. Our room was fine but a bit tired. The sheets and towels had been washed but they were grey rather than white. There were some dusty bits particularly in the bedroom and a loose socket. All in all though the accommodation was fine. We didn't eat in the resort so I can't comment on the food. Also the Wifi was fine for my iPad.

Had a really good time at this hotel, there were 4 of us retired ladies. We stayed on the first floor of the apartment block in 2 apartments. We could not believe the space in the apartments with a fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, 2 ring electric hob and all the pots and pans you would need. We were staying on half board and ate out for lunch but it was good to make tea when you wanted.
The apartments were kept very clean by helpful and friendly staff.
Breakfast and dinner were all buffets which had excellent selections even for me , as I am gluten free. The chef would cook me something if I could not eat the selections on offer, nothing was too much trouble for the staff.
We booked the holiday through Jet2.com and had no problems with them at all.

Just spent a week at Santa Rosa and found it to have been a good choice in Costa Teguise. The complex is neat and tidy, very well set out and clean.

The apartments are pretty much standard for a Spanish apartment complex, basic but all you need. All the apartments are single story so instead of a balcony you have a terrace. We were lucky enough to be facing the pool which was an excellent spot. The pool by the way, was very cold. Temperatures were in the mid 20's but staying in the pool for more than a couple of minutes would turn you blue. It's also sea water which i found a bit strange.

The apartment itself was nicely set out, all the essentials, toaster, kettle, cutlery etc. Telly with British channels (if you need to watch telly). Maids changed the bedding and towels 3 times in a week.

I found the reception to be efficient, if not over friendly. Ask a question, you get a straight answer and nothing more. Not rude but not entirely delighted that you are there.

The complex is nicely positioned in Costa Tequise, several restaraunts, bars and a supermarket direcly outside. About a 10 -15 minute walk into the main area of the town. 5-10 minutes to the nearest beach at Playa Bastien.

All in all, a decent if not spectacular place to stay in Lanzarote.

Room Tip: An apartment facing the pool

Struggled with the score on this one - would give a 4.5 if possible, but at the same time warranted more than a 4.

Booked a week in a one bed for the 4 of us for half term week. A week before I requested a ground floor apartment which they said they would arrange. Due to a late flight arrival we arrived at the hotel just before 8.30pm, so before checking in they sent us to the restaurant to have some food as we were on half board as it closed at 8.30. First impressions of the food were a little worrying, but it was the tail end of the sitting so we decided to wait and see.

Check in was pleasant and we were directed to out apartment. To our surprise we were allocated a 2 bed apartment. All rooms were a good size, a little dated, and a little musty too which was no issue. The bathroom had a full size bath and shower, bedrooms plenty of storage, and a basic kitchen which was good for making our lunch.

Had a better experience in the restaurant after our first visit - breakfast offered plenty of choice to suit pretty much everyone and we all left full each day. Good cooked option for overseas hotel, and the pancakes were lovely too. Evening meals were much better from our 2nd night and we enjoyed some really nice meals. Not too many options but very well cooked, with fresh meat/fish cooked in front of you and usually another roast meat option ready to carve. Drinks were good value too.

Swimming pool area was spacious. Pool was cold and unfortunately the winds made it a little uncomfortable later in the week - but we moved a couple of loungers to our terrace and enjoyed the sun with shelter from the wind.

The girls enjoyed the kids club - activities during the morning and afternoon and mini disco in the evening after dinner. The kids club is in the same section as the bowling alley, so at opposite end to the restaurant. Shame it's not all in the same area but no real issue. Bowling was good value and the kids soft play was free for guests (but only open from 4pm weekdays).

Costa Teguise is nice to walk around. There is a nice beach at Playa Bastian around 5-10mins walk from the hotel, and a nice coastal walk around to the main beach at Playa las Cucharas. Plenty of nice childrens play areas around the coast areas too.

If you do need to eat out, we can recommend the Chinese buffet at The Slow Boat which is in the centre opposite the Galeon Playa hotel on Avienda el Jabillo. Only €4.50 per adult and around €3 for kids. All food was well cooked with plenty of choice - one of the best buffet's we have eaten.

We had a hire car and went inland and did the southern tour. Have to recommend a trip to the Timanfaya park - well worth the entrance fee.

Overall we had a great time, and could see why this hotel scores highly. There were a number of couples on long stays of 1-3 months, and many more returning guests. Don't think we will get as good a deal again as we only paid £280 for the 4 of us half board for a week, but will certainly look the Santa Rosa up first when we return to Lanzarote.
