I had a lovely holiday the island is bueatiful, there is lots to see and do my only advice,if you go with children buy lots of food from the supermarkets as it can be expensive to eat out. We found we could do lots of activities because we did this. Also be selective where you eat as there was a lot of mixed reviews about places to eat in the area. If you need tourist information Ivan at reception is amazing at telling you where to go.The hotel is clean the pool amazing and hoolio who does the entertainment is great the walk he does is amazing and you get an informed look at the area. You can go into Puerto Rico on a nice night or there's dirty Nellie's over the road, there is plenty live music in all areas of town so you will never be bored. The hotel is quiet most evening so excellent for people with young children. I would recommend this hotel if you are thinking of long term holidays in gran canaria.

I am writing this review whilst still here. We are 7 days into the 10 day holiday. I don't have enough time to praise the place enough. Brilliant. Very clean. Loads of varied excellent food. Beaches to die for. Drinks and snacks are plentiful.
All the reviews are banging on about Germans. Last poster said they were only English. Well we are here at same time. Plenty of English. You get Germans everywhere and this is no different. They don't cause a problem. Plenty of English. Let's face it, Germans don't go to dumps. So says it all really. One downside is that nothing much in an evening but if you want quality accommodation. Good food. Great sea beach pools and loads of relaxing sun this is the place to be. If you want clubs and drunks laid on the pavement and shouting till the early hours well don't come here. Just brilliant. I will update when our hol is finished but for now I am off for yet another 5 star 4 course dinner. Adios!!

Stayed two weeks, end of June and early July. Arrived 11pm but food was laid out for us in the restaurant. Through our two weeks the food was consistently very good. Lots of choice at all three meals daily. Expected that the menus on week two would be a repeat of week one. But no, all different in week two. Wonderful. The service in the restaurant and bars is first class with excellent staff. The public areas are really bright and spotlessly clean. Two large pools with a seperate pool for very small childre. Plenty of sun loungers during our stay. Large well kept gardens and direct access on to the beach. We booked an apartment that was for unknown reasons cheaper than a double room. Loads of space and lots of wardrobes. Super. The room was like the rest of the hotel spotlessly clean. Abit of a niggle is the rip off 3.50 euros per day for the room safe.About 80% of the guests are German. Pleasant people who contrary to popular belief were not at the pool at 6am putting towels on the loungers. Refreshingly they are also not addicted to scrolling through phones or tablets every two minutes of the day.A bonus with this hotel is that it is a 10 minute walk to the Club Mistral windsurfing spot in Costa Calma. Club Mistral also operate at Risco del Paso about 6kms along the coast. Their free mini bus will collect you at the hotel and return you exhausted after a great days wind or kitesurfing. Overall a great holiday.

Room Tip: Any room above ground floor level in the main blocks of the hotel. The bar closes at 11pm and the no...

This was our first time in Fuerteventura and after reading all the positive reviews on TA we were really looking forward to our week half board in the Costa Calma Beach Hotel. The first thing to say is that the hotel is situated in a stunning location and certainly looks great although some parts of it could do with some updating. The down side was the rather long transfer time from the airport (well over 75 mins) which included several drop offs at different resorts. I will start with the definite positives which included the hotels cleanliness, fabulous pools and its location right on the beach. This is reinforced by it being situated in the middle of the mile long beach allowing for some excellent walks and great swimming. The food was first class with a great variety of choice both at breakfast and evening dinner. Unfortunately the down sides for us was that we were the only British couple at the hotel with the remaining guests being either German or Spanish. As we do not speak either it meant conversation was at a premium. In addition the evening entertainment was poor and at times we wished we had the buzzers from Britain’s got Talent. Also the hotels location is a little remote and there was very little to do outside with only a couple of mainly restaurants and no entertainment at all.
All in all we had a quite weeks break in a good hotel but we will not be returning any time soon.

We stayed in Costa Calma Beach for a week. Perhaps a big resort but once your in, it's different. A swimming pool and the beach with different places to sit, didn't give the impression of a big resort. Perhaps during the evening when there is only one bar, then you will notice. It can be busy at the bar then.
The room we got was very clean on arrival and it was kept so during our stay. No complaints on cleaning. The apartment itself (we were in a former apartment because we shared the room with three and there is a separate bedroom in the apartment) was big enough and had a nice balcony (seaview).
Brekafast, lunch and diner were fine. Nothing to complain on eating. The staff in the restaurant helped with that because they were very kind and they did there utmost to make it to your satisfaction. We were in the part of the restaurant which is on the poolside.
Staf in the whole of the hotel is good btw. Always willing to help.
During the day you can have drinks in a poolbar and there is a beach house next to the beach were you canhave drinks and lunch.
If you want to go to city centre you will have to walk about ten minutes. Not a lot of stores but enough. There are so called malls but they aren't that big and just a few are with shops other then souvenirshops.
If you wanna go there then you won't be disappointed.

Stayed here for a week all inc. Was a little worried as I've always done villas and was worried (after reading reviews ) about what " German food" was.. Am happy to report that it was food :-) lots of choice and I'm sure I've eaten all of it in the UK ( bit disappointed I didn't find the German food I've heard all about on here)
please take long trousers for dinner , if your male. We had to go and buy some, though to be fair the hotel staff gave my partner a pair of their dry cleaned trousers to try :-)

Service was good, no waiting around for tables, friendly attentive staff, throughout hotel. Clean room, though could do with plug in bath to stop cockroaches coming out the drain. This didn't mean it wasn't clean, it was very clean..they just like living in hot countries and drains.

It was a little windy , but knew that before booking as I like to find out about where I'm going and it is a windy island..
There isn't a lot to do locally, but that's what we were looking for ,didn't want a sightseeing holiday for this holiday.

Evening entertainment wasn't great and also only the bar in the hotel was open in the evening.. Shame you couldn't sit outside and have a drink, but again, not the end of the world.

I really enjoyed the holiday, it's a beautiful island and the hotel was good. Had a really chilled out, relaxed time, plenty to eat and drink (try the sangria cava cocktail) oh and a cheeky glass of cava with breakfast :-)
I personally didn't have an issue with been a minority Brit, I would have felt a bit fed up, travelling all that way abroad..to end up in a place full of Brits ( shudders)
