Club Drago Park Hotel
Ranked #11 of 27 Hotels in Costa Calma
Reviewed 15 September 2013

Me and my boyfriend stopped here 2012, the hotel was lovely! Very clean, staff were amazing , food was really nice if you don't mind eating mostly the same thing every day. entertainment was really good made our holiday perfect without it drago park would be so boring, BUT if your young don't bother coming here there's no young people to be seen for a whole week an no English people, everyone is 50+ and are very rude! Booing the English when in the entertainment room an dirty looks an comments all holiday. Out in Costa calma is the most boring place ever nothing at all to do an all the beach are nude beaches full of 50+ body's. The oasis park is a must we loved it! Enjoyed getting away from England for a week but would I come here again for nearly 400 pound? absolutely no way!

Room Tip: Ones without the sofa they are much bigger

We stayed from 10th of august till 24th of august - Firstly, when we arrived late at night we expected there to be no food given to us but this was not the case and we had a salad and a apple and it was delicious. The room we was given was lovely and clean but a let down was not having enough plug sockets, this was a problem as 3 of us was sharing a room and in the end we had to make a schedule of who would have which plug. (this has never happened in any other hotel we have stayed in before) There wasn't also much storage in the room either which we had to keep some things still in our cases due to this. On to food.. the breakfast was the same every day but was acceptable to eat, but the lunch and evening meal was generally the same which was a disappointing when this hotel is a 4 star. On to the entertainment.. it was different to what was said on the board outside Salon Marilyn and this was confusing as we would sit inside and it would be something completely different. But the entertainment staff were great and got involved with asking you to do different activities though, which you couldn't fault. It was just the entertainment, it was a bit repetitive and it should have a 2 week programme as the second week of our holiday was the same as the first week. I would say we spent about 3 times in Salon Marilyn as it would be hot and packed in a tight little room. Also not alot to do if you are a teenager, just pool tables. Although there was some entertainment from some guitar people playing when we was having evening meal and it was nice but even the entertainment for that was making sangria!!!! who wants to know that!? Also there wasn't free WiFi, which it says on the website "WiFi Zone" i was a bit annoyed about this as when i went to get the prices, it was ridiculous and i used the computer there but they were so slow and took ages to load a page. (so don't try the internet there).
The staff everywhere work so good and are so polite but sometimes you would have to wait for a table at your evening meal and this meant food would go down quickly and then there wouldn't be enough cutlery.
The beach is about 20 minutes away but this is pebbly and not very nice but there is a shuttle bus to the Esmeralda beach but there is a steep hill down the bottom but its not hassle going down, its the way back up!!! Watch out for the nudes though too!!
Overall, we all enjoyed this holiday but our opinion is that when we was there - it was about 70% German's and then 20% French and then 10% English and Polish. They can be very rude when getting your food so watch out if you have little children as they could get pushed and shoved!! But after all this negativity, we had a good time and enjoyed our two weeks.

P.s I would recommend the tour around the island. Lovely trip!!!

Room Tip: Make a room request, they try and keep it for you.

Just returned from a 2 week holiday at the Club Drago Park Hotel , Costa Calma.Fully Inclusive.
It is better than average in some ways and very good in others.Trip Advisor needs to include a good rating instead of going from average to very good!! This hotel is better than average but not very good for some aspects such as the food.
The Hotel is very clean and the rooms are a good size. However they have the old TV's and you have to pay for a remote control at the desk! Our room 205D overlooked the pool.Balconies are well sheltered from the sun. My daughter could not get a hairdrier for the whole 2 weeks!
The pool and area is very good. You pay a deposit for your towels, 3 euros each. This is returned to you at the end of the week. The Gym was in need of updating and repair.
We paid for a premium drinks room, £30 to upgrade. We were then informed when trying to order a Baileys that this entitled you to drink 2 branded whiskies, 2 gins and 2 brandies. We would have to pay if we wanted any other branded spirits!
Staff were fantastic! The Reception staff were very helpful and polite. They helped to print off my return tickets when I had forgotten them!!! Thank you so much!!!!
Bar staff were brilliant! The food does let this Hotel down, it was well presented and ok but not 4star. There was always something you could eat. There are microwaves to heat up your meal as it soon became warm and not hot. We found eating as soon as the restaurant was open the best. Breakfasts were good.
Entertainment staff were outstanding! They motivated people to do yoga, pool keep fit and shoolah. Very fit!!!!!!!! They also did the kiddies disco which my Grandchildren 6 and 8 years loved. However the evening entertainment was like Butlins in the 1950's!!!!!! Very funny but you are the entertainment!!! Mr & Mrs game where 3 couples had to do various kinds of dances, a quizz where you had to run to a chair on stage to give your answer. This was very amusing!!! The grandchildren did like the only outside entertainment which was a parrot act!
The only outside entertainment was a spanish guitar group that played and sang during one of the evening meals.
The beach was a 20 minute walk which was not bad even though I have a weak knee. The hotel does run a free bus.
The island is very windy and you did feel sandblasted on the beach!!!!!!!
The Grandchildren loved the freedom it gave to them at the Kiddies Club during the day. They really liked the Pirates day and hunting for treasure!!
Costa Calma is very quiet!! Only a few shops.
I really enjoyed the holiday but felt it was not 4 star .It was better than average but not very good!

Room Tip: 205D were in a good place to get to the pool and the restauraunt.

We have just returned from a family two week break at the Club Drago Park Hotel. The hotel was generally very good - great staff, very clean, great pool area and a very good choice in terms of food. The room we had for two adults and two children was slightly small, but overall, the regular maid service and cleanliness more than made for it. The hotel is slightly out of the way, but I would definitely recommend this hotel to families and couples alike. Lovely staff and a nice place to relax.

We visited here with our family (aged 9 and 3), the facilities are great. The pool area is cleaned down every day and the loungers arranged early in the morning.
We had no problem getting a lounger for us all, but just one thing if you have small children you might need to use the umbrellas which do tend to be a little more sparse, so nab these as soon as you see them. The pool itself was clean and lovely as was the baby pool. Our apartment was on the bottom level which over looked the pool so it was great and easy to get to the pool. I believe all rooms have pool views? The views from the top of the building across costa calma are stunning (breezy) but stunning, so I would recommend venturing up there (we did when it was cooler at night). The food choice was fine and neither of my children complained about the food and as an adult I also found the food satisfactory. There appeared to be a variety of cuisines each night which included English/ Spanish and German. Be aware of the food times though as by the pool is the restaurant you use in the day and we kept getting the morning snacks mixed up with the lunch menu. They bring out hotdogs, burger and chips with salad every day at around 10.45am (i think) and we thought this was the lunch menu (it was the same every day) until we noticed that that is just the snacks and that the lunch comes out at 1pm which we only noticed when on one day we stayed in to eat what we thought was lunch then saw them take away the hotdogs etc and replace with an assortment of foods hot and cold. They are quite insistent that you do not touch this food until 1pm - 1.30pm cant remember the exact time. Which is fair enough as it gives everyone a fair chance to get to the food.
The drinks available on the all inclusive are perfectly fine and we didnt feel the need to pay to upgrade, I mostly drank rose wine and my husband the local beer which we both thought was great. The evening entertainment was great for our kids and varied each night. I think if you didnt have kids you might find it not suitable to your tastes though
There are various sightseeing tours available which you can arrange along with car hire in the reception area. I noticed lots of water sports, but we didnt go on them as we had small children. We did go to the Oasis Park (highly recommend/ we went twice!), they have a bus which travels to and from the hotel, you arrange this at the reception. We also used the free bus to the beach from the hotel (cant remember the beaches name, but i think they only travel to one beach. The beach was like a postcard, turquoise clear water, white sand beach! Truly lovely with shower facilities.
The hotel itself is north of costa calma and sort of overlooks it, although you are not aware of this once inside as every room over looks the pool area which is located in the centre of the hotel. Its not to far to walk to the centre and it is downhill. There are various supermarkets, and tourist shops located about, but I wouldn't say there is one central town area.
With regards to nationalities there were a vast assortment English, French, Swedish, Spanish, German. With none being more predominant than the other. To be honest it wouldn't bother me anyway but I though I would mention this as I know some like to know. And the children didnt seem to find the language a barrier and they all played with each other and made friends
The room was big and airy. WE had a balcony terrace area which was a nice size with white plastic seating and table and a place to hang clothes on the side wall. The bathroom was modern and the shower flow lovely. The room and bathroom were cleaned daily and sheets changed every other day I think.
We had a brilliant time and would revisit and recommend

Room Tip: Our pool was on the ground floor (same level as the pool) we found this helpful as we didnt have to...

Me and my friend came back yesterday from staying here and were sad to leave! This resort offers everything you could ask for, The pool was lovely, Accommodation big and over looked the swimming pool, Entertainment was fun to watch..Different shows every night after the mini disco for children, The food was great with lots of choice! So much so we could never decide what to have. The reps were very friendly and always asked if we wanted to join in with activities..One being Aerobics by the pool. The beach isn't a far walk from the hotel, probably around 20 minutes, and there are small shops and a supermarket a 10 minute walk away. People who have been adding bad reviews must be expecting far too much! We had no problems.
We loved this holiday so much we are planning to book again for September :)
Thanks Club Drago Park Hotel :)

Room Tip: We stayed on C level.. Would definitely request between C200 - C212 as they had the best views!

Have just returned from 14 days at this hotel. Little strange; We really have nothing to complain about, but are not very happy either..
Drago Park is clean, the rooms are spacious, the staff polite, the pool area is huge and there are plenty of sunbeds.
Costa Calma is a very quiet place, and maybe the reason we were "unthrilled" about the hotell was the rest of Costa Calma?
The food is OK, always diffent things to choose from. The meny of the the day is postet outside the main reataurant. So you always know what's for lunsh and dinner.
They have one "coctail of the day" - Any other coctail you will pay for. (you can have vodka, whiskey or other alcoholic beverages)
The guests at Drago were mainly french and german and some scandinavians.
All in all; The hotell is OK - But i would advice you to rent a car.

Room Tip: All the rooms have a pool views, but if you get a rom in block C - 5. floor you will have a great vi...
