Having stayed at the Bahamas twice previously, and having a great time, our family were very excited to be returning for a third time. We were aware that the hotel was under new management, however we were surprised to see how much has changed. On arrival to the hotel we were pleasantly surprised to be greeted with a glass of champagne, and orange juice for our 2 year old. Check in was fairly good, we arrived early morning so did not expect our rooms to be ready, but one out of the two we had booked was available. My mother in law had telephoned the hotel the week prior to arrival to request the two rooms we had stayed in previously. We were placed in the same block but on the 1st floor rather than the second as requested. The reception explained that as we needed a cot, the second floor rooms were not big enough, only 1st floor could accommodate this. Fair enough but why weren't we told this on the phone. The hotel makeover looks fantastic, very modern and fresh looking, and the rooms are large and comfortable. Only complaint about the room is that the only mirror is above the wash basin, could do with one above the desk/dressing table. Location is great, beautiful beach and close to the airport so fast transfers. Walking distance from the shops and bars, and there is also a little train that can take you round the resort which was great for our son (however when asking reception about the train time table they did not know anything about this even though it has been running for many years). A big issue here is the reception staff are very slow, and cannot speak English well at all. We went to ask if our second room was ready and were stood for 20 minutes before we gave up and told them we would come back later. It seemed they could not cope with the volume of guests that had arrived. They also answer the telephone whilst talking to you which is quite rude. The food in the hotel was previously excellent, however we found the choice very limited on this visit. Breakfast always had strange combinations like broccoli and carrots, and always large queues for eggs. Lunch was the best meal time as there was more choice, snack bar open as well as the main restaurant. Dinner was awful, very limited for children and again large queues at the live cooking station. Worst of all I found live ants in my food twice!!! Both times we complained but my food was just taken away and put in the bin, no one came to apologise or to tell us what would be done about it. On a positive, the drinks are good, you can now help yourself to beer, wine or soft drinks. The rose wine is not the same as it used to be and very dry, however champagne is available on the all inclusive which is rather pleasant. Entertainment has gone down hill. The large team that used to keep us entertained day and night, have now been cut down to 3 people who are pretty much invisible during the day, and hardly do any entertaining at night! There were a few singing acts that were obviously locals as we could hardly understand what they were singing. One night had no entertainment at all, the only entertainment was our son and other children dancing on the stage! However this was much more entertaining than the previous nights! Other issues - phone in one room didn't work, and was never fixed after reporting it. Cleaners not great, rooms still have sand everywhere so clearly they were not mopped properly. One day we were left with one towel between three of us! Beach bar is under construction but we were told that when it is complete it will be a private bar and not part of the hotel, so watch out for this if you want a quiet holiday! When we questioned all the changes, we were told by a member of staff that the hotel is now aiming for wealthy couples, and does not want families anymore! The whole area is turning more into a hotspot for the rich looking for posh bars, and clubbers, and this is what the hotel wants to attract. It is NOT a family hotel anymore. The overall impression we got was that a lot of money has been spent on refurbishment, and now they need to cut back on the essentials such as food, entertainment, staff and cleanliness. I do believe that we are more disappointed than we should be, because we have experienced how fantastic this hotel used to be, however this should definitely not be marketed as a 'premium' hotel. On appearance the hotel looks fab, but the facilities do not live up to the image this hotel portrays.

We as a party of 6 women, the staff were great, warm, friendly and so helpful, the FOOD was Excellent, so much choice for everybody, it was hot, fresh and regularly taken away and replenished, our overall stay was great and would recommend to others, we would definitely be going back.

Room Tip: The only thing they could make better is to put a mirror in the actual room as the Bathroom is the only mirror and when 3 of you are trying to get ready, another mirror would be good..

Just returned from a week at Club Bahamas. Really enjoyed our stay. Great value for money. The rooms were clean and comfortable, tidied each day and always provided with fresh towels. We had a pool view room and had no problem with noise. Great variety of food throughout the day. Pool is huge but music a bit hit and miss. No problems getting a sunbed, but were normally all taken by 9.30am. Liked the idea of helping yourself to wine, beer, soft drinks and hot drinks all day at pool bar. Loved the terrace bar with its chill out music. Nice place to relax after lunch and before dinner. Staff were friendly and helpful especially pool bar staff who always had a smile on their face.

I would definitely return to this hotel in the future. Short transfer, fantastic beach, short walk to bars and restaurants (clubs short distance from hotel). We took a taxi to Ibiza old town, it cost about 13 euro each way. Bus stop also available outside.

Couple of things I would have liked would have been a full length mirror in the bedroom, and an English channel with entertainment or movies on.

Will definitely recommend this hotel to friends.

Room Tip: We liked our room, which was on the 2nd floor, facing the pool area near the bar. We had no problem with noise as we spent most of the day by the pool. Balcony in the sun most of the day.

We stayed at the Bahamas from 28/05 - 03/06. It's a nice hotel with friendly staff. The food was nice & fresh and the drinks from the bar were great. We felt that the room wasn't too clean upon arrival and it wasn't cleaned all that well throughout our stay.

We used the spa facilities on our second last day and the staff were great! Really friendly and couldn't do enough for you.

Finally, there is a severe lack of atmosphere in the bar/reception area at night. Everyone just sits and stares at each other... very bizarre. You could go outside to the evening entertainment but it was mostly designed for kids, so not there really isn't much in the way of entertainment for couples.

Overall, I'd definitely stay there again, although I'd wait until we have kids before going back.

Room Tip: Get a room facing the pool. There is little to look at around the exterior of the hotel.

Just got back from a lovely stay at the Bahamas! The hotel was very clean, everything brand new. The staff were all very friendly especially Sophia on reception. Lovely pool. Good food. Good drinks and cocktails for being all inclusive. Right on the beach.
Fab location with a bus stop out the front of the hotel. Only a short walk from playa den bossa and Ushuaia. Would definitely visit again.

Massive thanks to Jack the fantastic Thomson's rep in this hotel. He made you feel very welcome, he was always on hand for questions, full of information, always had time for you even when he wasn't working. I heard a lot of people in the hotel mentioning how fantastic he was at his job! No matter the age or needs of the guests he dealt with everyone really well! Jack is a real asset to the hotel.
