“Nice hotel but not platinum”
Reviewed 26 July 2014

We have just returned from a stay at Hotel Club Bahamas and we had a great time.

We had an early morning flight and arrived at the hotel around 11.00am. Prior to leaving the UK, Thomson customer services advised me we should receive our room at 12.00 noon but unfortunately we weren't given our room until 3.30pm - I would advised having swimwear etc in your hand luggage so you don't waste the first day of your holiday. Ask reception about a courtesy room to change in - they don't offer it to you while you wait for your room unless you ask.

Air conditioning didn't work for the duration of our holiday - we had to sleep with the patio door open. I advised reception daily about the problem - they said were aware of the problem but waiting for an engineer to come and fix it.

Entertainment wasn't good but we travelled as a couple so this didn't trouble us.

Food was great but not enough staff to clear tables - you had to look for a table which was set. We tried the a la carte restaurant - we weren't impressed by the self service and selection in the a la carte restaurant & decided it was better to eat in the main restaurant. Snack bar was great - on several occasions we called for snacks just before midnight.

Poor area was great but not enough sunbeds. There were 1500 guests stopping there last week (peak season) and all beds were reserved by 9.00am. Take an alarm clock so you can get up early to reserve one!

A great location for those who want to visit the clubs but I don't think this is a family resort.

Despite the faults, we had a good holiday but I don't think hotel is the standard of a platinum hotel.

Room Tip: Our room faced the car park and it was really quiet.

Hotel food excellent room on pool front which was nice . Staff very nice, however had flood in room on last night and they did not have any rooms available in case we had to leave . They did sort it but had to hang around for hours the only thing they offered was the shower room which was like a prison cell.
Would stay again but not a platinum hotel by any means.

I stayed at Club Bahamas from 5th to 16th July with my husband and kids aged 16 and 19. We arrived late afternoon and check in was quick and the staff were really friendly. A porter took the bags to our rooms which were both top floor with lovely views of the pool area and beach. The rooms are modern clean and spacious and were cleaned daily with ckean towels. Pool towels are also provided. The choice of food at mealtimes was excellent and cocktails really nice! The staff all worked really hard but still were happy and helpful. Really didnt want to leave and would like to return.

My boyfriend and I have just returned from a 10 night stay at Club Bahamas (11th - 21st July).

This hotel is absolutely brilliant. As mentioned in previous reviews, the staff work incredibly hard to meet the needs of a large hotel. There are over 500 rooms in the hotel, but it really doesn't feel so big. Rooms are scattered among 6 or 7 blocks, and as previous reviews have stated, there are no lifts, so if you have little ones or people with mobility issues it would be worth requesting a ground floor room.

When we arrived at the hotel at around 10:30am (after a wonderful 10 minute transfer from the airport) we were greeted with a glass of prosecco. Yes check in isn't the fastest, and no our room wasn't ready, but we expected this so got changed and started our holiday! Food is served in a large dining room, however we never experienced a wait for a table, and there was always plenty of food and a large variety of it. The food is also changed and topped up regularly, so you know it hasn't been there too long. The drinks on all inclusive are great, and we made the most of the free mojitos!! I dread to think how many mojitos the bar staff make per shift!

We never had any problem getting a sun bed around the pool... until our last day. It seemed that over the final weekend (we flew home on a Monday) the kids in the UK broke up from school and the hotel got very busy, which made finding a lounger more difficult and meal times a bit more hectic. We got up around 9am every other day, however, and never had an issue.

The new owners of the hotel (Nordotel) have clearly spent a large amount of money on the place this year. My boyfriend and I both agreed that the room was the nicest we've stayed in in the Med. The rooms have two single beds (pushed together) and a sofa bed, a flat screen TV (with Sky News and CNN for the Brits), a desk and a wardrobe. There is no full length mirror which would be useful (I did see some workmen going round with them during our stay, so maybe they're coming) but I got round this by standing on my bed and looking in the bathroom mirror which is huge!!

The pool area is lovely, the pool is nice and big and never felt busy or that you didn't have enough space. At the bottom of the hotel is a gate that heads straight out onto the beach. The hotel is in the flight path of the airport, however you do get used to the planes flying overhead and they tend to stop around 10pm (we found that they came in fits and starts, several in a row, then nothing for a while.)

During our stay we also visited Ibiza Town which is 1.90euros each way and Santa Eulalia which is 2euros each way from Ibiza Town. We also went to Space (Sunday), Ushuaia (David Guetta) and Hard Rock Hotel (Tinie Tempah) all of which were brilliant!

Overall, this hotel is wonderful and we will definitely be back!

Room Tip: We had room 5130 which was a pool facing room so was nice and quiet on an evening. Rooms facing Hard...

Hotel is beautiful and location is good with nice beach just outside gate. Evening entertainment has room for improvement. Approx 5-6 mins from airport so its noisy pretty much 24 hours a day.
Food: a large dinning room, large variety of food which was good, the separate restaurant that you need to book for was disappointing, basically same food as down stairs, no waiter service (which I was expecting, as other hotels I have stayed in past do have this service). I stayed in hotel July so once kids broke up got extremely busy and personally I don't believe they have enough staff, they ran out of things like glasses, cutlery, plates and you had to wait for more to be brought out. Tables were taking a while to be reset once people left, I ended up getting my own mats/ cutlery myself as it was quicker then waiting for staff. I think overall customer service wise the staff could do better (bar, restaurant, reception) - maybe my expectations were to high?. The price we paid for a week all inclusive I'd say matched the hotel. We all did overall have a good holiday the weather was perfect!
Can I just also add hotel has 1 lift 2 max which is in main block once outside that there is no lift so you have to carry your cases up (hotel has 3 floors) so for us girls with heavy cases = nightmare. Hotel is walkable to bars/clubs and events in hard rock hotel so expect deep base till midnight (that's the time the open air club has to shut off), didn't bother me as I was in the club - avicci was fab! - Just a note for people with small children.

*Know this sounds like a rant it's not, - honesty is best policy in my opinion.* :-)

Stayed between 5th & 19th July 2014. As some previous comments mentioned, the staff are polite & extremely hard working. They deserve a lot of credit and the ones we dealt with were terrific. Can't praise the staff high enough, lovely people.
In the restaurant, the choice of food is excellent at all times of the day and the desserts are to die for. The apartment was spotless, cleaned every day and suited the three of us. Long good beach at the rear, lifeguards in attendance during peak times. Music at the pool was on the loud side and went on for too long.
The entertainment in the evenings was varied, some very good, some not so good but generally a lot of hard working people there, they also deserve a lot of credit. We had no trouble finding a table every night except our final night. The sudden influx of people arriving meant no spare chairs around.
The only thing for us about the hotel that was disappointing was the location. 400 yards up the road is the Hard Rock Hotel & the Ushuaia. Now you know it's not going to be quiet, but when it is going the bass music from here is truly deafening. The only sound that drowned the music out was the noise of the planes arriving & departing every 10 - 15 minutes from the airport which is located 7 minutes away.

Not hotel related but other factors to take into account, the town I felt could do with a major revamp. Pavements outside the front of hotel are not great. The continuous selling on the beach every couple of minutes from the Senegalese: hats, glasses, watches, CD's, bags and from the Spanish for clothes, drinks, pineapples is truly relentless. Also I know this is obvious, but be very aware, look after your stuff. Bag snatching was going on at the beach and as we were waiting for the bus to collect us to take us back to the airport there was an incident in the hotel.

We have just returned from this hotel yesterday 14-21 July. Overall this is a lovely hotel. We were welcomed with a glass of bubbly on arrival which you will need as check in is very slow. There was no porter available to take our bags up and there is no lifts in any part of apartments. So access for disabled and elderly in would request a downstairs apartment. Our room faced onto back of hotel which was pretty quiet. Apart from inconsiderate parents that let their kids run up and down corridors late evening when others are trying to sleep. I had my kids with me and at no point would I have allowed this to happen. On arrival our room had a fault with electrics we waited around for a while to see if it could be fixed. By 1am we were given another room for the night as my kids were very tired and hot. We returned to our room the next day. The rooms are very nice, comfortable beds. Very modern, TV , fridge and tea making things. Good air con.

Very clean around the pool area. Had to be up very early to reserve sunbed as it was starting to fill up I think there are about 1200 guests at peak time.

The night entertainment while ok could be improved. We never used kids club so can't comment.

Food and drink was lovely. Couldn't find fault with it. Lactose and gluten free range available. Breakfast 7.30-10.30. Snack bar 10.30-6.00. Supper 6.30-10.30. Snack bar opened again with pizzas chips kebab wraps etc from 10.30-1.00 am.
The wifi is very poor.
Free bottled water from reception or the pool bar.
Free beach towels which are returned at the end of your hol.
About a 15 min walk to nearest shops if you turn right out of hotel. And a bus stop outside of hotel no 14 bus takes you to Ibiza town for €1.90.

All music stops at 12 there are night clubs close by but you are never bothered by the noise. Hard rock hotel is right out the back of the bahamas. Last Friday tinie tempah was playing. If you sat on balcony you could hear all the songs and see light shows. Overall this is a lovely hotel plenty of comfy seating inside around bar area. Staff don't hurry themselves but are pleasant. Some of our party were troubled with ants but we never had any.
