Sirenis Hotel Tres Carabelas & Spa
Ranked #11 of 33 Hotels in Playa d'en Bossa
Reviewed 2 July 2012

Myself and my boyfriend stayed at the Tres Carabelas in June 2012 for 2 weeks, all inclusive.

Good points:
- Helpful reception staff and friendly restaurant and bar staff
- Nice clean rooms, with firm beds. All with balconies and sea view. Good aircon unit
- The whole hotel seemed very clean
- Pool was nice and always enough sunbeds
- Good location inbetween Playa d'en Bossa and Ibiza Town, could walk to both in 20 minutes
- Close to Bora Bora, Jet and Space in PdB and in Ibiza Town, Pacha and shopping
- Quick tranfer from airport, not even 30 minutes
- All Inclusive drinks were ok. Spirits were all local brands but very large measurements, 3-4 cocktails, wine and beer also ok
- Gym was ok, bit basic and old, but had everything you would need. Shame it only opened at 11am when the sun was getting hot
- On departure we had to check out by 12 noon but our flight was not till 12 midnight. Thankfully, we were still allowed to use the all inclusive facilities which was really appreciated

Bad points:
- Evening entertainment very very poor. We didn't sit through it once. This was a shame because the point of going all inclusive was to try and save money and stay in the hotel in the evenings. We spent most evenings either somewhere else or playing cards
- Italian guests completely dominate this hotel and the daytime animation team all spoke Italian. I must add that the animation team all seemed to work hard and tried to make it a great holiday for the kids especially
- Even though the rooms were nice unfortunately it was ruined by the smell of cigarettes. It was everywhere, even in the morning through the vent in the room. Because of this I would take off points for Cleanliness and Rooms in the rating
- The food was very bland and very basic, and not the greatest quality. I suppose there was always something to eat but often I just had bread and cheese. Sometimes the fish would be undercooked or you wouldn't know what kind of meat was in a dish
- Snacks were pretty rubbish as well. We only tried them once and left it. Could only really eat the chips. No fruit or anything slightly healthy on the snack menu
- WIFI was extra, €15 for 12 x 60 minutes - should be free in all inclusive similar to other hotels
- No table service around the pool and bar
- Not allowed to bring food to room

All in all a half decent hotel, just a shame about the food. I would only recommend this hotel to families, and even then I fear the parents would be bored, even if the kids loved it. In my view this is definitely not a 4 star, but merely a 3 star and next time I would probably try somewhere else.

Room Tip: Ask for pool/sea view or you might get parking lot/sea view. And maybe if you are a non-smoker check...

We are a group of 6 fun loving 'mature' ladies, (39 - 60), who have just returned from 5 great days here. Between us we have pretty much holidayed worldwide, from camping to cruising and would definitely recommend this hotel. Although the rooms and corridors may be a tiny bit dated they were spotless and comfortable, as was the entire complex. Food can be a bit hit and miss in All Inclusive's but the choice here at all mealtimes was varied, plentiful and really tasty with friendly and attentive staff. We loved the pool area, there were plenty of sunbeds and the pool was really inviting. The entertainment staff were good fun, in particular Erwin, a lovely young Dutch lad. The entertainment wasn't exactly Vegas but it was a good laugh, especially the aqua aerobics. The location was great, just 15 minutes from the airport and right next to the beach with the Water Taxi at the bottom of the sunbathing terrace. Try to get a 'pool view' room as these overlook both the pool and the beach with lots of little boats bobbing about and is a really pretty view. All in all, this is a friendly, comfortable hotel with nice food and helpful staff. We all said we would definitely stay there again with our families and partners.

Room Tip: Ask for a pool view room.

Just back from a weeks holiday and had the best time ever. When you first entered the hotel initial impressions was "this looks lush". Reception staff were so lovely and friendly with advice. They did their very best to understand what we were saying - Scottish Accents Confuse Them !!
Our room was just a basic twin/double room, but there was nothing to fault with. Had a telly in the room so could sit and watch it if you wanted (though we never) and a balcony looking over the beach. Maids came and cleaned the rooms thourghly everyday, giving fresh linen and toiletries like shampoo. Although they could not speak english they always gave a friendly smile. Bathroom had a bath with standing shower, only thing I would say it needed was maybe an extrator fan to stop it steaming up.
When it came to being fed, there was no way you'd go hungry, they had a huge variety of food. For breakfast there was fruit, pastries, cooked breakfast, cold meats and cheese, various cereals, yoghurts, bread. Lunch and dinner were both similar in the restaurant, so for lunch a few times we just went to the snack bar by the pool. If you were to go to the restaurant you could get pasta, soup, veg, fish things, meat in sauces, meat in breadcrumbs, salad, pizza, fruit, yoghurts, ice cream etc ... The waiting staff you couldnt fault they were always making sure everything was okay, and regularly checking drinks.
We lay by the pool most days so were always using the snack bar for both food and drinks, they would always try and have a laugh. The entertainment staff were top-knotch! They were always trying to do things with you so you werent bored, not only did they entertain the young children great for all ages. Some of the things they would do were ~ aqua aerobics, beach volleyball, tennis, balloon volley, beach bowls, table tennis. At night they would also put on wee shows within the hotel.
We decided to go to Playa D'en Bossa as we didn't want to be in somewhere really busy and partyish like san antonio. even though playa d'en bossa has a small party area, it is at the total opposite end - 15minute walk - so those not wanting it are not effected. A lot of really nice bars, our favourite was Top 21 , as well as being a bar it had a free disco downstairs which had really good music that you knew.

I was worried about going to Ibiza but it was great. I plan on going back again next summer, and the same hotel it shall be! :)

We chose this hotel because of its location, only 20 mins from the airport, travelling with a 20 month old we didn't want to add anymore time onto the journey. Our first impressions were good, a lovely spacious reception with friendly staff. Our room was ready and a cot provided as requested. We chose a suite and were really pleased as the extra room (lounge with television) was a lovely way to relax when our little one needed to go to sleep in the bedroom.
The restaurant was great with lots and lots of different foods on offer. The staff were amazing and offered drinks upon arrival to our table.
The hotel has in my opinion a fairly small pool area, however, this was not a problem for us. The children's pool is very small and the children's play area consists of large slides and climbing frames.
The rooms are cleaned to a very high standard and the houskeeping staff work really hard, not a word of English, but always a smile.
We did not see any of the hotel entertainment but there seemed to be a general mix of singers, drag artistst and musicians. I used the spa on a couple of occasions -60 euros for a massage, a little expensive - and my husband used the gym every day.
Turning right out of the hotel brings you to a few supermarkets and bars, a nice gentle stroll if you don't want to go too far. Turn left and a 15/20 minute walk will bring you to the more lively part of Playa D'en Bossa. Shops, bars and restaurants. Bora Bora and Space are not far away.
Overall, this was a lovely holiday and a very good hotel.

Room Tip: We had a suite on the 7th floor - fantastice view of the sea and beach.

Stayed here with 6 friends for a girls holiday, staff lovely and helpful. The pool area was clean, plenty of sunbeds the pool whilst cool certainlt not unbearable. The food was lovely and you had plenty of choice and could go back as many times as you wanted. The rooms were large and spacious and again cleaned daily. The area was close to shops and main area in playa den bossa and a short trip takes you in to Ibiza Town.
Would certainly go back again.

Room Tip: Request pool or sea view, can be a little noisy on the road side.

My sister and I stayed here for 4 nights in May. We paid £220 each for flights and accomadation. We didnt arrive until 3am but the staff we very friendly and helpful at check in.
Breakfast was included, there was lots of variety however some of the food was luke warm so a bit cold once you had sat down to eat.
Entertainment round the pool is not my sort of thing, I prefer to keep myself to myself They had water aerobics one day which seemed like fun, however other than that it was a bit strange, throwing darts, catching a stick! Theres no pressure to join in though so its fine.
Rooms and the hotel in general is very, very clean and spotless. I could not fault them. Rooms were good with balcony, side sea view, had tv but didnt watch it. Beds were a bit hard but slept well after a night on the town! Only odd thing there was a shutter in the bathroom that literally went straight through to your neighbours bathroom. You could hear them showering and flushing the loo!
Our flight home wasnt until late so the hotel provided a luggage room that was locked and secure. There was also a shower room with towels.
The hotel rating is 4*, hmmmm I'm not convinced. Other 4* I have stayed at in Ibiza like Hotel Garbi, are a lot more trendy and stylish. I would rate this as a 3* plus (if thats possible) however for the price we paid I really cannot complain.

the brochure stated indoor heated pool but this was past the sister hotel and in another building. Could not just pop in and out for sunbathing so big disappoinment,The outdoor pool was freezing. Much too cold for swimming and made my husband and I feel quite shaky at the time.So no cooling off in the glorious sunshine. Hotel room fine, maids lovely.friendly. Dining room staff very friendly and always pleasant. Food on a par with other hotels.Plenty of choice.Hotel reception efficient/helpful.Holiday rep 1st class.Everywhere spotlessly clean. The reason for poor rating , comes from the entertainment. When booking a hotel we look for evening entertainment as a way of relaxing. I do not call a televised football match on a Saturday Evening , entertainment ! 1 night of an excellent flamenco troupe , 2 nights of an appalling keyboard player who could'nt sing and that was it? The daytime entertainment consisted of two very pleasant girls, walking round the pool with a dartboard for you to stand up and drop the darts in to try for the highest score and a couple of other games of equal inanity. The whole entertainment scene made us feel as if we were either children or totally past any intelligent thought!!! This review is not meant to be disrespectful to any person but this hotel needs to invest in some decent shows/acts. They have got most everything else right so what a pity they did'nt use a little more thought on this issue. For that reason alone would not go back.

Room Tip: rooms overlooking pool are sunny in the morning till about 1.00. 3rd floor ideal for us.
