Stayed at the Hard rock in June for a short vacation and unfortunately I have to confirm that most negative reviews prove to be true.
The hotel is definitely not a 5 star product as they advertise and most probably it will never be: reason for this is that the whole structure is that of a lower category hotel and furnishing it with cool pieces doesn't change the size of rooms or facilities. Rooms in particular are very small and the open bathroom, which is so trendy in so many new hotels, is in this case laid out very awkwardly, making it both impractical and ugly.
Breakfast is ok but do not ask for a coffee or tea to be brought to your table: they will just answer you to stand and do it yourself at the coffee machine...
Service overall is very badly organized, both at the front desk and in the restaurant: staff are courteous and kind, however it is clear they lack any sort of structure or direction and the check in/check out process it is embarassingly long. This can be however fixed with a good training and hopefully will change over time.
Even so, I would not go back to this hotel in the future as I believe the island offers so many alternative choices to be explored and hopefully able to provide a real 5 star experience.More
