My wife has been warming me up all year to holiday in Mykonos. We like 5* boutique hotels and Hotel Palladium was one of a few she identified, having read previous Trip Advisor reviews. When a deal came up for 10 days from the end of September, it was too good an opportunity to miss.

For us the location of the hotel was important as we had deliberately decided to leave driver's licences at home and enjoy a totally chilled out holiday. It's only a 10-minute transfer to the airport and with only a handful of planes a day, they are not intrusive in any way. There are two great beaches within a five-minute walk offering very different experiences. There is a regular water taxi from one of these beaches, Platys Gialos, to a further four beaches (€5.00 each way) and there is a half-hourly bus service to Mykonos Town at the entrance to the hotel (€1.60 each way), to which you can time your watch! My wife did read some negative comments about the location of the hotel on a main road. Honestly, yes some drivers you need to be wary of, but the road is a dead end at the bottom and is perfectly safe to walk and we weren't conscious of any noises at all while we were there.

Ok, but what of the hotel itself. This is one establishment that creeps up on you over your stay and before you know it, you have fallen for the familiarity, home comforts and service that the hotel gives in spades. First impressions are that it is a lovely property. The rooms are well appointed, spotless and we had one overlooking the pool area with a sea view. As we were visiting towards the end of the season, we were upgraded to an even better room, with similar fantastic views, during our stay. What made the rooms much better was the incredible service provided by the chambermaids. Scarcely seen, they quietly ensured your room was always tidy, with fresh towels several times a day.

We were on a set four-course dinner menu as part of our deal (although there was an Al La Carte menu). Described as a 'buffet' this was simply a misinterpretation as it was a really excellent table service in the restaurant on the ground floor, again with great sea views and al fresco dining in part. The chef provided a wonderful selection of salads to start with and a range of dishes that we perhaps wouldn't have always chosen and would have missed out on some super food. Our experience over the 10 nights was that you won't be dissappointed. Breakfasts were buffet-style with a generous choice of hot and cold dishes to set you up and, depending on your portions, sufficient to sustain you through till the evening. There are however a number of great restaurants only a 5-minute walk in Platys Gialos to tempt you to lunch. Stavros, the head waiter, was simply unbelieveable, anticipating your every requirement without appearing overbearing in any way. He was there at every breakfast serving, for lunches and worked continuously until the restaurant closed after dinner in the evening. We didn't try it, but you could arrive late in the evening and still get served. Like most guests, we came for dinner c. 8 - 8:30pm.

The pool area is nice and both George and Alex, the attendants, have a great sense of humour to entertain, but with so many accessible beaches, we opted for the beach on most days using the water taxi. You can help yourself to as many fresh towels as you can carry for the beach at the pool bar and return them for cleaning at the end of the day.

Front of house, the people that really stood out for us were George, Thanos, Maria the Manager and as mentioned previously, Stavros. We are also so grateful to those behind the scenes, the chefs and in particular, the chambermaids, that worked so hard to make our stay so enjoyable.

Go to Mykonos for the experience, incredible beaches and the weather and stay at Hotel Palladium for an unforgettable service!

Room Tip: Choose a room with pool/sea views on 1st, 2nd or 3rd floors. Floor numbering works in reverse at Hotel Palladium, with 1st at the top and 5th, the lowest.

Friendliest, most helpful staff we've ever had the pleasure to meet at any hotel. We loved our room as well. Location is great. Was worried about being away from Chora/Mykonos time, but it was easy to get there, and we ended up liking Platys Gialos and Psarou better anyway.

We spent four nights there on our honeymoon in late September into October and hope to return someday. The weather was perfect. The breakfast was amazing. Restaurant was good. Bar service was excellent.

We stayed in room 503 with the private terrace, jacuzzi, and pool, plus ocean view. This is a room and hotel we would recommend to anyone.

There may be equally fine hotels (certainly there are more expensive ones) on Mykonos, but if we go back, I don't think we would risk staying somewhere else, since we KNOW how much we liked the Palladium.

Room Tip: Room 503 (ground floor) has ocean view, private terrace, pool, jacuzzi, trees, flowers, etc. The only way it could be improved was if you had your own bartender (but he's only a phonecall or a few steps away). Other rooms have plunge pools or are up on higher floors, but if I can see the ocean from my own private garden, I think that's pretty good!

My wife and have visited Mykonos 5 times in recent years because we love the diversity of the island. It has something for everyone, good restaurants, relaxing beaches, great bars and nightclubs, along with tranquil secluded nature spots.

We usually stay at Cavo Tagoo (which is excellent) but on this occasion decided to try somewhere different and decided upon The Palladium. We knew the service and ambience would not be up to Cavo Tagoo standards but it is half the price, so decided to give it a go.

Generally the hotel is clean, the pool area is fine, and the staff are very helpful. The only thing I would say is that the room we had (217) was a bit 'tired'. If you don't want to be near town, the location is excellent because there is a great beach nearby, and a few restaurants nearby which are all OK.

Just left the Palladium after an 8 night end of season stay. The staff were fantastic, a warm welcome at the airport, fun service over dinner and drinks - excellent all round. The room was spotless, well equipped and had a great private balcony looking out to sea. 10 minute bus / taxi ride into Mykonos town or 5 minute walk to two great beaches and restaurants. Highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing break. Enjoy

Beautiful boutique hotel which is situated at the top of the road leading from Platys Gialos Beach which gives you stunning views and is an ideal location for hiring cars or quads or jumping on to a bus or water taxi which will take you to the town or anywhere on the island. The hotel is so clean and smells so fresh and standards are very high! The staff are wonderful and friendly and will do anything to help or provide information about places to visit and there are plenty to visit, about 30 beaches on the island including where Shirley Valentine was filmed, the food is delicious. This is the perfect hotel suitable for families, singles or couples who ever you are the staff are warm and friendly and will go out of their way to make your stay pleasurable, we had such an enjoyable and relaxed holiday and would once again like to thank Maria, Despina, Stavros, George, Alex,Thanos (to name only a few) and many more for making us feel very welcome and we will be returning in the future !

Room Tip: Room 401 is excellent!
