My husband and I were there for part of our honeymoon. The hotel is boutique style but exceptionally decorated and our room was luxurious with a hot tub on our private terrace. I cannot say enough about the staff. Virginia, Maria and Iro were so helpful and always smiling. I would go back to this hotel in a heart beat. The view from the roof top pool of the coast was breathtaking. This hotel exceeded my expectations of a five star resort

What a hotel! It's a tad on the expensive side but the service makes it well worth it. I've never, ever experienced service like what my husband and I had here. Attentive, polite, accommodating, and very responsive. They were at our room with whatever we called to ask for within 3 minutes. The breakfast service was outstanding. I can't recommend this place enough! Book this one, you won't be sorry!

Our family of four stayed in this hotel during the busiest season in early August. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the breakfasts were nice. A few tips -

1. The hotel provides free transfers from and to the ports and airport. During the high season it is the best way to get in and out of the island. Make sure you call the before arrival so they can pick you up. There is almost impossible to get a taxi at the port during the high season.

2. The best way to get to and from the town is by bus. We were not aware of the bus service and spent 40 euros on the a round trip where the bus fare is only 1.6 euro. The bus stop is only a 5 minutes walk from the hotel. The door man would help with the directions.

3. Try to spend some time at their pool especially if you are with young kids. The water temputure is excellent and the stuff serves free snacks every hour. We were there for an afternoon and got cute ice pops, fruits, and shakes. Nice touch.

4. If you leave on the ferry I would advice to ask the front desk the day before. We got our ferry tickets a month before to santorini leaving at 10:15am. The hotel sent us off at 9am with another couple with the tickets at 9:40am. We got to the port at 9:20am only to find out that the ferry actually leaves at 11:15am. We ended up spent almost 2 hours at the port.

I can't speak highly enough of the Ambassador.

From arrival right through to check out, the service, food, amenities and room was nothing short of excellent. Without question in the top 5 hotels I've ever stayed in.

It's not cheap, but worth the extra for what they deliver.

This was the second stop on our honeymoon, and after spending a whirlwind few days in incredible Istanbul, we were ready to unwind. The Ambassador absolutely delivered, and we loved every single aspect of it. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Constantinos (who was so, so friendly and helpful!) with the amazing news that there was an upgrade available for us (a major perk of booking our honeymoon through Hellenic Holidays - Petros is a miracle worker!!), and we ended up, much to our utter joy, in a one-bedroom villa... with a private pool on our balcony. Honestly, we could have stayed in our room the entire time we were in Mykonos and been completely content - it was INCREDIBLE. Fantastic views of the bluest sea you will ever encounter, such nice amenities and comfortable furnishings. We did, however, venture out of our room and loved hanging by the pool (the umbrellas are key, and the chairs are super comfy - and such great views) where we enjoyed the frequent treats from the very friendly bar staff (they bring around samplings of juices or smoothies every so often). We dined down by the beach at several of the great restaurants just a short walk away, and the Ambassador helped us set up a trip to Delos and Mykonos Town, as well (definitely worth spending an evening exploring... and getting lost in.... the town! However, once we had done so, we were happy to escape back to the quiet and relaxation of Platis Gialos..). We spent an evening in the luxurious spa, loved dining at the open-air restaurant (delicious food!), and loved every single breakfast - such a fantastic selection! Everyone was so kind and helpful. I highly recommend it, and we would definitely love to go back someday!

Lovely hotel, located at 3 mins walk to the beautiful Platys Gialos beach. The hotel is on the hill close to the seaside, so the rooms enjoy a spectacular view on the bay and the sea. Very quiet, as it is far enough from the noise of the beach and its restaurants. Modern, decorated in Greek style, the hotel is part of Relais and Chateaux. It has a nice pool area, and a good restaurant.

A real strength of the hotel is the staff: extremely friendly and helpful, really make the difference in your stay. Young personnel, very motivated, always smiling, well trained. They were able to satisfy all our needs, always in a very nice and efficient way. Bravo!

We had a deluxe room with sea view, quite small but very clean and well maintained, with a very large and comfortable bed, a small balcony and a beautiful sea view. Just the bathroom could have been better (the tub with the curtain is maybe not so nice), but it is the only remark I can make.

We love Platys Gialos and we loved our stay in this hotel, would definitely come back and we do recommend it!

Room Tip: If you can, chose at least a Superior room, to have a bit more space...

This hotel is "boutique like" with service standards that are amazing. All the staff, absolutely each one, treats the hotel as if they own it and as if each guest is their own only customer. In years of travel my wife and I have never given so many cash tips to so many staff in gratitude for their efforts (and they don't even expect tips!). The owners have done something really special in getting a common culture and level of service instilled in the entire team who clearly take pride in doing a good job.
We had room 106 which together with 107 are probably two of the better rooms (mind you in peak season these are very expensive). The bathrooms are large with separate showers and toilets, with a very big selection of quality amenities stocked. The views are astounding and there was nothing better than relaxing on the balcony after a hard day lounging at the beach, with a glass of wine and watching the day disappear and the mega yatchs shuffle around. All rooms face the beach with great views. The little area in front has a great beach and a selection of good reasonable restaurants. We ate at Bonatsa a few times - very good and situated at the far end of the beach - the best place for swimming and less hectic crowd!
The hotel pool is 20 meters and quite nice with plenty of loungers and shade for those who wish.
The restaurant is expensive but very good. The breakfast has a big fresh selection which will last most people about a week before one would start wishing for different choices.
There is only one minus (apparently afflicts the whole island) and that is the poor signal strength of the wifi. If you need strong signal to connect to work servers which have strong firewalls then beware! The reception staff went out of their way to assist in this and loaned us a separate router to overcome the wifi issue.
To end on a positive - if you hire a car (highly recommended if you really want to see the island and enjoy the beaches) then the hotel will valet park and bring you your car as many times a day as you need - no charge.
A fantastic place on a magical island with wonderful friendly people, great beaches, food, wine, and sun - can't wait to return
