Started our trip in Athens, with Gate 1 tours. Royal Olympic Hotel, very nice. Ate at the Garden Roof Top Rest , beautiful view of Akropolis & Zeu's Temple. Lighting was so great couldn't stop taking pic's. Costa's, our waiter was in excellent form, a really interesting greek man who made our visit so much more enjoyable. Helped us with everything from menu to wine & greek language. 5 star in my opinion.
Next we took a ship,MV Lewis Olympia. I would give it 1 star, safe, but just a means to get to other Islands.
Mykonos was our favorite. Stayed w/ Petasos Bch. Hotel, very nice, I rate it 5 star. Everyone so friendly, pls. thank Asimina & Liza at front desk . Porters, Billie & Costas were great guy's as well. The ladies in the Spa were so nice we hated to leave after our massage. Want to thank Kalliopi, Rania & Pavia for a most enjoyable visit. Bus stop just outside hotel. Town was nice at sunset w/ windmills . Stop at d'angelo for some great food, wine & service. Thanks guy's.
On to other Greek Isl. + Ephesus Turkey. Terrace Homes just uncovered a must see. Also enjoyed a home where they teach the young Turkish girls how to weave the Turkish rugs and keep the tradition alive.
In Santorini we stayed at El Greco hotel, very nice w/ many swimming pools. Must contact OceanWave Private Day Tours. Ask for Dimitris, a great guy & excellent driver. He took us to all the best photo op spots & away from the tour bus crowds. He made the visit extra special again with a sunset view from a great winery along with an excellent female singer, sorry I didn't get her name. She has the voice of an angel.
All in all , we loved the Greek Islands, Athens & its history,& Turkey. All the people were wonderful to us. Thank you so much for a great adventure.

Firstly some background on us- we generally stay in five star places and believe holidays are about the fantasy of being somewhere much better than what your own home can offer you. We booked our 5 nights in Mykonos at end of April (here now in late June) and unfortunately at this point our first choice hotels- Myk Grand and the Sheraton were fully booked. I am glad for this as we ended up at Petasos based on the awesome tripadvisor reviews. It is not a silver service hotel, but this is made up for by its fantastic location, wonderful staff and the best room/pool/breakfast views I have ever seen. Our two kids (7 and 2) were extremely happy. We are in a designed suite (which is a large room connected to a normal seaview room with 2 bathrooms) and could have probably squished into the large room alone. But it is really nice that our toddler is currently sleeping in the smaller room while we listen to the music wafting from Nammos beach club as we sit on the balcony. DO NOT bother coming to mykonos if you don't get a seaview room. Go to a cheaper island instead. As for the island itself- the food in Mykonos is the best I have ever had in Greece. The wind is a pain in the butt. I do like that my husband and I can listen to dance music and pretend we are still in our twenties while we sit with a bucket and spade at Psarou! The island is not as wild as I thought it would be- very family friendly.

The hotel's all-white decor is clean , minimalist, and modern. The staffs are friendly and helpful. The pool is clean and has beautiful view of the ocean. The VIP restaurant where breakfast was served has an amazing view of ocean & docking yachts. Bus stop to Mykonos town conveniently located in front of the hotel. Platys Gialos beach is less than 5 min walk offers tavernas, restaurants, beach umbrellas. It also within walking distance to Psarou Beach, which is one of the nicest beach in Mykonos. Breakfast spread offers nice selections. Overall, happy with my stay!

A lovely hotel with spectacular views, facilities and staff. The best view for the impressive breakfast is overlooking the water. The pool, spa and sun lounges were great. I found the staff very friendly and attentive. Our luggage was delivered to our rooms and facilities explained to us. Local beach and restaurants only a short walk but Hotel has a small private beach too. Excellent holiday accommodation. I can see the number of poolside beds in peak season would be an issue and because of the very windy conditions, the umbrellas have to be fixed so it is sometimes difficult to find shade.

Room Tip: Make sure when booking, you ask for a room with a full size shower and travel just outside peak seas...

We stayed in Mykonos for 3 days, and we were in the Petasos Beach Hotel for all three days. The service was wonderful. The staff were very helpful and kind. The food at the onsite restaurant, VIP, was absolutely fantastic. The view from the pool and the restaurant was really cool. You could sit out and watch super-yachts come into the bay and park. They provided free wifi, which is a huge plus in my book. No complaints at all. Can't wait to go back.

I am happy to endorse all the points made by other reviewers, following a really lovely 5 day June break. The staff are truly wonderful and service is outstanding. The views are breathtaking and we would definitely be very happy to return, but despite that, the hotel is not without its niggling faults.

We had a very lovely superior room with fantastic sea views. However, the balconies are all tiny with just enough room for a pair of cheap upright plastic chairs and a table. Quite disappointing. Other than the pool rooms which are a different budget altogether, there are only a few rooms with a full terrace. Noise disturbance from neighbours and from corridors was quite obtrusive - especially early in the morning. The bathroom was delightful save only that ours had one of those plastic shower units with all the jets. Difficult to operate and quite rubbish really. I don't know if hotels feel that guests neeed this sort of thing but a well designed properly tiled shower in keeping wit the rest of the bathroom would be so much better.

The pool area is beautiful but when the hotel is at capacity, as it was during our stay, it really is very crowded. All the decent beds were reserved by 9am and the umbrellas are fixed, making it very difficult to find shade in the afternoon. Also the beds are a designer freeform kind, which can't be adjusted. My wife loved them but I found them very uncomfortable. The so called beach is just a small area on top of the rocks with somewhatt precarious access to the sea - quite fun but proper beaches a few minutes walk away in either direction, present better options. After our first day, we decided there was more fun to be had exploring the island's many wonderful beaches instead of hanging around the hotel.

Breakfasts were excellent - satisfying and varied - with wonderful service. We ate one night in the pretentiously named VIP restaurant. It was the sort of hotel restaurant that tried far too hard with not particularly pleasing and very expensive results - there are better options all over the island and even just a few yards away. We had one poolside lunch which was very pleasant. The hotel lacks a real bar area - probably because most guests spend their evenings outside of the hotel. It would have been nice to have been able to return from dinner and to have had a couple of drinks in a pleasant setting but clearly this does not seem to be what most guests require.

Internet is available throughout the hotel but is barely adequate and requires the inputting and re-inputting of codes which can be annoying if this is important to you.

If you just want to stay put in one place, I think I would have found the hotel a bit limited. If you want to use the hotel as a very pleasant base from which to explore all the pleasures the island has to offer, as we did, then it works very well indeed. The fabulous reception staff organised a hired car for us and gave us helpful and accurate suggestions as to what we would enjoy. We also enjoyed just strolling along the neighbouring beach and popping into the bars and restaurants. As a result we had a truly memorable holiday

Room Tip: sea view is a must
