“Great hotel, amazing staff”
Reviewed 8 July 2014

Pelican Bay was a perfect antidote to a a somewhat jostling few days in Athens, and a nice segue into the Santorini vacation that followed. The room was clean and cool, with a fantastic view of the beach, the facilities had everything we needed (the pool was wonderful), and the staff was absolutely amazing. Marianna (I may have spelled that wrong) was the best thing that happened to us on our entire vacation. She understood what we were looking for (history and culture) and what we weren't (the beach and party scenes), and recommended attractions that we could afford to skip and couldn't afford to miss. She's the reason we went to Delos, which was the high point of our three-stop tour of the islands. The entire staff was knowledgable, friendly, and extremely hard-working, but Marianna was the superstar. Two thumbs way up. I can't say enough good things.

Also, please tip. From housekeeping to the morning buffets, the staff is going above and beyond, and they deserve a little extra.

We have just spent a week at this lovely hotel and cannot rate it highly enough!

The location was perfect for us, 5 minutes from the beach but still quiet and secluded feeling. The room was clean and cool with a very comfortable bed and the wireless worked sufficiently well for our needs. There was plenty of variety at breakfast and the one time we had lunch at the hotel the portions were huge and the food tasty.

We spent most of our days on the beach however the pool area was also very inviting and we spent one glorious day lounging around.

Above all, the staff were excellent, very accommodating and friendly. Antonis answered all of our pre-trip emails quickly and organised for us to be picked up from the airport so our arrival was hassle free. Marianna on reception was very helpful when we arrived, recommending a truly excellent restaurant (Nikos gallop) for our first dinner and looking after us throughout our stay. The ladies serving breakfast were friendly and accommodating, nothing was ever too much trouble. Last but certainly not least we must say a huge thank you to Petros the bartender who kept us plied with mythos and rocket fuel cocktails every evening before and after dinner, was quick with anecdotes and lesser known facts about Greece and was simply excellent company from our first day to our last.

We would recommend this lovely hotel and its exceptional staff to anyone visiting mykonos.

I just returned from my favourite island and now my favourite Hotel.
I can highly recommend this hotel to everyone.
We arrived and our travel company failed to inform the hotel that we were not a couple but indeed two female friends, so we required two beds rather than one King size bed. As the Hotel was booked out, the manager did everything possible to turn remedy the situation.
We got for one night a 3 bedroom room that was booked for the next day, so we had to change rooms. We had the next day a choice of two rooms and got a wonderful room with a big terrace.
All rooms I had seen were immaculately clean and were spacious with TV, air conditioning, mini bar and a big bathroom.

The Hotel itself is built in typical pretty Cycladic style and every corner offers another surprise. A very big light breakfast area and lovely clean pool area with bar. On the Top of the roof a chill area with cushions and an amazing view over Platy Gialos.

The Hotel is situated at one of the best areas to explore Mykonos. A short 10 minute Bus ride to Town, 5 minutes’ walk to two beaches and a 15 Minute walk to two others as well as a boat ride to numerous other beaches.
The Staff at the hotel will bend over backwards for you and do everything possible that there guests are pleased. Our luggage was moved for us from room to room after arrival and even at the last day everything possible was done to make sure our stay was stress-free and relaxing.
The reception staff were exceptional , accommodating and friendly, we needed for example a taxi in the evening and as it is a small island there are only a limited amount of Taxis available. However that did not stop the receptionist to persist for half an hour till she arranged a taxi.
In fact no matter what time we passed the reception there was always a welcome and smile even on return at 3.00 in the morning a wish for a diet coke was accommodated.
Breakfast was not only in a lovely setting but there was everything your heart desired. Coffee, Tea fresh orange juice and other juices, fried egg and scrambled egg, bacon, sausages, cereal, fruits, marmalade, jam, cake, croissants and bread. If you could not find anything you fancy then there is something wrong with you! The breakfast staff were amazing, I came half an hour before breakfast started to get a small pot of coffee to have in my room and it was always there ready for me.
Overall I can only highly recommend this hotel to anyone. It certainly was, out of my 12 visits I had to Mykonos, the best one.
A big Thank you to Antonin’s and all his staff to make our stay not only wonderful and memorable but a home from home!!! I cannot wait to return hopefully sooner than later. Wish everyone at the Pelican Bay a wonderful summer.

Beautiful boutique hotel with arty choices in decoration. Goes along just as beautifully with the overall wonderful island of Mykonos.

The hotel is located in an excellent spot, just a few minutes of walking time from the two best beaches in the island, Psarou and platys gialos. This gives the visitor the opportunity to both enjoy some quiet time and also be really close to the beach with no worrying about noise.
Sleeping is excellent, beds are comfy and large, the rooms are decorated beautifully, are clean and you can sense the personal taste and effort to make each room special.
I believe a visitor feels like home from day one.

The hotel has a lovely swimming pool, relaxing and wonderfully set to both enjoy the sun and the view. The breakfast is served alongside the pool and that too has a personal touch to it. Same as the rooms, one can feel there is an aura of home attitude to it. Variety is great and the lovely lady who is responsible for attending it and serving the guests is very polite and friendly.

Which leads me to the stuff, very attentive group of people who love their hotel, job and their island. They go out of their way to make sure the visitor has a great stay. One feels like visiting a friendly hotel on a great island just minutes after your stay.

Excellent plus is the gym, transfer to and from port airport and the wifi works adequately.
Would absolutely recommend choosing this hotel if you want to stay in Platys Gialos.

A really nice , well-run hotel. Plati Gialos is busy and the beach area is packed with hotels and restaurants/bars. This hotel is set a bit back from the front which means it is quiet and has pleasant views across the village. Our room was a bit small but as we were hardly in it, it wasn't an issue. The Reception staff are very efficient and helpful. The breakfast buffet was very good indeed and served in a pleasant roof top dining room or outside by the pool. The pool is well maintained and deep but a bit small. There is not a lot of sitting/lounging area around the pool and so it can be hard to find a shady spot particularly early evening. Helpful poolside bar staff and drinks were reasonably priced. Excellent shuttle service by hotel bus to airport/ferry port. Left a new swimming pool on the balcony but it appeared to ahve disappeared. But all in all, good value for money.

Room Tip: The higher the better for views and cooling breeze.

We had a great time at Pelican Bay. The location was great -we could walk to the beach and some great restaurants and it was a short bus or cab ride to the town - but it was the staff that made our stay so enjoyable. From the moment we arrived and checked in everyone did their best to ensure we had a great vacation. The room included a ride to and from the port in the hotel van so we didn't need to worry about renting a car or finding a Taxi. The front desk staff was very helpful with directions to places and suggestions, and someone brought our bags up to our room and collected them when we checked out. The pool area was beautiful and we enjoyed our time there. The bartender, Petros, was amazing with suggestions of where to eat out in town and took great care of while at the pool. We also enjoyed the breakfast buffet and eating out on the deck by the pool. We highly recommend Pelican Bay.

Lovely hotel a few metres away from the famous Platys Gialos beach & the bus service. Tranfers were included from the port which is always a pleasure. We stayed in the superior suite on the 3rd floor. Views from the balconys' were beautiful - sea views on both sides. The hotel boasts white washed walls, reception rooms, gym, bar & pool areas. You would have to get a sunbed early as space can be limited. The vibe of the hotel is quite laid back & peaceful. The room was a great size, with its own living room although 1 fault would be the TV reception was really bad & all the channels were dubbed. WIFI wasnt too great in the room but in the common areas it worked well. Lovely quiet surroundings, breakfast was good, had a variety of food & fresh juiced OJ. The lunch menu is decent and the prices are very reasonable compared to the restaurants on the beach strip. The mini market is down the road near the bus stop & Blue Myth restaurant is a must on the beach strip for the Greek Dance night - food is exceptional & the evening was a great experience! Overall we enjoyed our stay at Pelican Art Bay it was really special.. Thanks to Mr Antonis who's hospitality was really appreciated... He made our stay quiet pleasant.

Dear Guest,
I am happy to have made your stay a pleasant one. I do apologize for the T.V. reception but it was a general problem which has been fixed already as well as the wi-fi. Thank for you finding our hotel in general lovely, our lunch menu with reasonable prices and for enjoying our fresh orange juice in the morning buffet. On your next visit we will make sure to have more sunbeds in our terrace so you do not have to rush in the morning to reserve one.
We wish you a nice rest of the summer and we look forward to seeing you again.
