Our first time staying at this super hotel, and we will return! From check in to check out everything was excellent .Staff throughout very helpful, excellent food, rooms fine and spacious although has been mentioned could do with refurb which I believe is ongoing. We booked direct and the extras we received were great, free taxi transfers, free tea and coffee facilities in room and free safe and wifi.We are a couple in our 50's and holidayed with my parents who are in their 80's and the hotel was ideal for them also.Looking forward to our next visit!

Room Tip: Go for a sea view/pool view on a high floor

Well this was our third visit to this hotel, and looking to go back again later this year. We are self employed and run several businesses, for us this hotel is a welcome break. If you are looking for a stunning hotel with excellent food, and a place to relax and unwind then look no further. The hotel bedrooms are apparently due a re fit next year. I do hope they change the brick pillows in the bedrooms as this is one thing that stops it getting top marks from me. A few things I would include in the price to give this hotel top marks...softer pillows, tea & coffee facilities in bedrooms, I know if you book direct they throw in the tea and coffee but for customer satisfaction and the cost involved I would put them in all rooms, also I would lower prices on the room bars for water and soft drinks, this would cut down on people bringing in there own. This is a hotel that you do struggle to find things wrong with, and I think for me one of the big winners for this hotel is the quality of the food...and Iam fussy about my food.

Room Tip: Book a sea view, it's worth it.

Just returned from another lovely holiday at the Arona Gran.Once again cannot fault the service. and the food.
The hotel has some wonderful staff who make you very welcome.just to mention two in the Dining room Esther and Sylvia
The Hotel is suitable for the older group and caters well for any holiday maker with a mobility problem.
We will of course be returning again next year or perhaps sooner.

Room Tip: pool views face onto the sea as well as the very large sunbathing area

Well all I can say is wow .. Everything about this hotel is amazing , however although the staff, pool area and food are fantastic ,the rooms do need a refresh which I believe is in the pipe line . Not for young people or children but middle aged or retired people . The staff are so helpful . The food is out of this world with so much variety . Two years running this hotel had all british tv channels and tea and coffee facilities in the rooms which were no longer there this year which did let it down just a tad .. But all in all a lovely hotel in a brilliant position for lovely flat walks ..we are booking for October which will be our 4th time back

Room Tip: Well worth upgrading to a sea view

Dear Mandy,

thank you very much for your comments about your recent stay at our Spring Arona Gran Hotel.
We are very happy to read that you have enjoyed your holidays with us. Regarding your comment about the TV channels please note that this is not only a problem in the hotel, but the satélite Astra stopped providing these channels and we cannot reach them anymore. Also we would like to clarify that the tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms are always available free of charge for clients who book our hotel directly (without coming through a tour operator), maybe you did so 2 years ago? Nevertheless we thank you for using Tripadvisor and we hope to see you soon again at one of our Spring hotels. Sunny regards from Tenerife. Stefanie Dechert, PR

My partner and i have just returned from a 2 week holiday at the arona gran, we had a lovely time the hotel was very clean, rooms cleaned everyday, the food was very nice a good choice of something for everyone from steaks, salmon, lamb, pork salads,i could go on and on, all cooked perfectly. compliments to the chef. breakfast was great, full english which we havent had in many hotels before. and all of good quality. we did find that the majority of quests are elderly as a couple in our 30 s,, but didnt mind too much as we wanted a nice quiet relaxing holiday, ( didnt have no roudy pensioners lol) the pool area is spotlessly clean and plenty of sunbeds at all times, the weather could have been better first week was very very cloudy. but second week was fab very hot. a few points that we was 'nt very pleased about, was that the hotel does not include a fridge for personal drinks in room this is an extra charge of 3 euros PER DAY which in a 4/5 star hotel as thomsons website states. i would expect this as standard and not extra, there is a mini bar/ fridge in room but prices are very expensive for these drinks, if u choose to indulge, also if you are a smoker there is no smoking in this hotel/rooms not even your balcony, which would of been nice to know before we booked via thomsons. the hotel does have a rule that you can NOT bring in drinks from outside the hotel but we did for our room as found the drink prices expensive for what you got when you can pay 59 cent for a 330ml can of coke over the road at supermarket and the hotel price is 2.50 euro for a 200ml bottle. we re not tight by any means but why pay more hey!!! theres also a pillow menu if u wish to upgrade your pillows again this comes with a cost and as stated above with fridge this would be something i would expect as standard, No tea or coffee making facilities in the room either .....again this can be hired from hotel at a cost..... ok so thats all the moaning done with a few more things to say ,, the hotel does have evening entertainment some of which was bit cheesy but it kept us entertained lol, the area its self is quiet as this hotel is on the end of los christianos, All in all we did enjoy our stay at the arona gran thanks hope this review helps.

Mid May 2014 .... Our sixth visit and not disappointed. The rooms are still well kept and very clean but they are under way with the refurb, we hear. Mainly I guess because the Hotel feels the style may not be fully up to date. But we like it as members of the older generation.
Despite the nightly program of good entertainment we spent a lot of time with the brilliant Jeremy in the downstairs piano bar (Los Lagos?)..Normally in previous years we have seen him in the bar at Reception level which is more intimate and with his favourite Yamaha concert grand but this year Summer came early and they moved him downstairs with a rather tired baby grand..
Staff in all functions were as good as ever.
The Arona Gran always tries harder e.g. both pools heated to around 29/30° in May. Most 4 Star heat one, if they have 2 pools at all.
Huge choice of food ....... at least two Show Cooking, plus a carved joint and then all the Buffet.
A Spanish hotel with a decent choice of cheeses .... miracles DO happen.
We are already booked for January ............ says it all.

This was our first visit to Tenerife and to the Arona Gran . It was recommended by a close friend and we were not disappointed . As one of us is disabled and uses a wheelchair , this is a very suitable hotel . It was a total departure for us as our usual hotel has less than 60 rooms and The Arona Gran has at least 400. It was also double our normal flight time .
We arrived late due to our flight being delayed and were welcomed cordially and advised to go for our Evening Meal before checking in properly.
The restaurant is open until 10 pm and is enormous . We managed well in restaurant due to a lot of help from Aida in Public relation Domingo And Alonso all extremely helpful and understanding .
The food was excellent plenty of choice the only down side is the fried eggs at breakfast which were over cooked !
The reception area of this hotel is extremely impressive almost overwhelming plants and trees everywhere marble pillars waterfall and huge crystal chandelier ! Lots of very comfortable seating everywhere and I am very fussy about chairs !
Our adapted room on the ground floor no 1 was the best we have stayed in with extremely comfortable bed and excellent pillows ! Didn't need to use pillow menu !
Access for wheelchair to balcony and comfortable seating and wonderful sea view not noisy even though we overlooked the pool !
Pool area was vast and very attractive with many trees and plants and all pools heated, plenty of loungers and an excellent bar and snack service. All staff were very helpful and went that extra mile to please. We found the overall experience very hard to fault and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.It is worth mentioning the balcony as each one is private and like a little oasis of peace and plants.Suffice it to say we have already booked to go back next year.
We also mention bar staff Toni Jorge Sabrina and Idaira. All very helpful and nothing too much trouble and everywhere spotlessly clean.
Aqafit classes and Paella demonstrations very good.

Room Tip: Speak to public relations or email for advice Stephanie very helpful in discussing your requirements...
