“A 1 star accommodation”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 June 2014

When I was looking for an apartment, this kept popping up but only had 1 * so I contacted travel republic and asked why? The reason us because the stars get appointed for facilities, and this hotel doesn't have any really... There is a fab bar/ restaurant called Oceanview with good traditional food attached downstairs but owned separately...very friendly happy helpful English staff..
The hotel/apartments are very well maintained and kept very clean...most of the rooms are private owned. There is 24 hour reception...which were very helpful and eager to please.
There is internet in reception or you can purchase WIFI... Bit hit and miss in room sometimes, but perfect whilst sitting on balcony or round pool.
2 lovely clean well maintained pools, adult and kids..yes you do have to pay a €1 a day but it all just goes to keeping the place looking nice.
Our room was well equipped, large fridge freezer, microwave, hob, kettle, toaster and all cooking and eating utensils.
Large bathroom,
Very comfortable beds
Tv(although only 1 channel on ours)
Balcony table and chairs.
We had a marvellous sea view from side apartment on 2nd floor.
We thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to staying again.
I'm not sure why people have been moaning about beds not being changed or made etc.. We were here for 7 nights, had beds changed once, towels changed 3 times, cleaners came in and replenished toilet rolls and swept..
This is a self catering holiday...MAKE YOUR OWN BED!
Only 1 thing that we think was bad( for us anyway) the water is SCALDING hot...we got caught out a couple of times.. So be aware.

Room Tip: Ask for sea view and high room.

weve stayed her twice now and in different parts of the comodoro and we have been compleatley happy with it both times, its clean and basic yes, i dont understand people making a fuss about it being basic it costs less than most campsites in the uk to stay here per night, what more do you want the location is great, the pool is very good, and the bar restaurant is good with great staff and is cheap too.
so with it costing what it does and its location thats why ive given it an excellent rating
i would stay here again

Room Tip: ask for a pool and sea view, to be honest they're all pretty good but A block faces the pool and...

we had a superb stay at the comodoro last month. The apartments are very basic, but the view overlooking the sea more than compensates for this. The pool area is large and clean, but the sunbeds cost 1 euro each, be aware that you need a key from reception to unlock the sunbeds. The bar downstairs has a good selection of food and "happy hour" is from 3-7pm at 1 euro a pint.Just outside on the promanade is a superb restaurant with three course meals for 8 euro with live entertainment. There are plenty of bars/restaurants within walking distance and we had no complaints wherever we ate.All in all we had a fantastic relaxing stay and a special thanks to my wonderful wife Emma for making it so enjoyable again. We will be back next year.

Room Tip: High floor with a front sea view.

Stayed here for 10 nights in may this year, check in was quick and easy. Room clean and big enough for the 2 of us, nice balcony overlooking the pool area and the sea.
Bar/restaurant downstairs was good value all meals are cooked to order, and cooked just the way you like it. prices reasonable, full English breakfast only 3 euros, Al and Tony go that little bit further to make your stay enjoyable, both of them are a good laugh. There is a nice pool and the sunbeds only 1 euro.
There are lots of bars and places to eat near the hotel, you can walk along the seafront to Las Americas, about 30 minutes walk, you can have a great night out there, if you don't like walking there is a taxi rank outside the hotel. Local bus service is very reliable.
When we return to Tenerife we will be staying here again, all staff are courteous and helpful, and thank you to Al and Tony for making our holiday a happy one.

Stayed for 5 nights in May this year, was given room 611 in the main middle block. Had a huge balcony, the long side overlooking the road/taxi rank (facing the Princess Dacil) and the short side had a sea view towards the Arona Gran. It was spacious and clean enough, towels were changed twice during our stay, however the sheets weren't, nor were the beds made (2 single beds in this room). There was a large fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster and microwave, although there was a sign to hire these at reception, so I'm not sure if all rooms will have them. The room is tucked away at the side of the stairs and the lift, but we had no noise at all from any direction - it was the quietest hotel i have ever stayed in. The bar downstairs does food, altough we only had a snack once, preferring to go for a wander. They also do happy hour from 3 - 7pm. You have a key to get into the (good sized) pool area, and a key to get out of the gate on the promenade side, which comes on a huge keyring, so you end up with 2 huge keyrings if you also rent a safe (cost 20 euro for 5 nights, with 10 euro back when you return the key). If you want to sit round the pool, you need to pay 1 euro each at reception where you are given a key, then you go back to the pool to unlock your beds, then back to reception to hand it back in - so this can be a bit of a farce. We only did this once as we like to go on the beach (12 euro for 2 beds and an umbrella on Playa de las Vistas beach, just beyond the tunnel). We had breakfasts/snacks a few times at R&B's on the promenade, which was slightly more expensive than some places, but we enjoyed the well cooked food, good choice and pleasant staff. Also clean toilets! We also ate a couple of evenings at Fado's, on the corner near the childrens play area, which was very reasonable, very tasty and large portions. So all in all would come back here, as it's in a good location, and reasonably priced (we paid 140 euro for 2 through Alpharooms)

Came here in 2012 with my mum and was desperate to take my boyfriend as it's on top of everything, right next to the beach. We have booked for two weeks in June we have paid 250 for the room for both of us. The rooms are spacious, staff are happy and the restaurant downstairs is so cheap. With a full English only 3 euros. Can't wait to go back, and funnily enough, my parents have decided to book also as my mum enjoyed it so much. Even though this place is a 1 star, yes the rooms needs modernising, but myself going on holiday 3 times a year, I can defiantly say this apartment is better than a lot of 3/4 stars I've stayed, the maids also come everyday and clean up. See you soon comodoro :-)
