Booked this on the advise of travel agent and was not what we expected..
on arrival reception was very polite and friendly but we were handed a very basic map and a key and pointed in the direction to go.
I am not a snob but felt the 1 bedroom apartment for a family of 4 was very basic..it was spacious enough and has kitchen area with fridge freezer and cooker, however you would have to pay to hire a kettle/toaster/microwave/iron etc.. the bedroom was 2 single beds pushed together with one FLAT pillow each, the kids had to sleep in the living area one on the sofa which made the most horrendous noises every time my son moved and woke everyone and the other on a pull out bed from under sofa the mattress on this was VERY worn and had holes in but atleast we got fresh sheets to put over.
A major down point for me was there was no air con in apartment although there are ceiling fans in room and living area which you can leave on all night if you don`t mind the noise.
We were disappointed in the fact the pool only open 10am - 6pm some mornings I would have loved a wee swim then was evenings where the sun was still baking you after 7pm but hey pool shut so tough !!
Food - where do I start !!!!
My husband will eat pretty much anything and thought food was not too bad. I however (as someone who don`t eat fish) was sorely disappointed most days and the kids aged 12 and 9 pretty much lived on chips for 2 weeks. the breakfast was standard English breakfast or selection of croissants, having toast was a nightmare as there is only ONE toasting machine in a restaurant catering for 200+ people in a resort/hotel. lunch was very repetitive (again kids had chips), this closed at 3pm and there was no snacks available at bar until 5 pm which would either be pizza or guess what... chips ... there would be a selection od cold meat and cheese and only ONE tray (about 25 on a tray) of rolls would be put out on offer and once they were gone the fruit tray was put in its place.. so on a few occasions we had gone out to do an activity and returned hungry at 3.10pm but had to wait until 5 for snack then restaurant would open for dinner at 6.30pm.. dinner was very repetitive, again the kids had chips... your ok if you like fish and chips .. the desserts were just awful (enough said).
Location- at the top of a hill overlooking wasteland. can walk into town (bit of a trek back) or taxi which is 5-6 euros each way.. (same trip NEVER casts the same sure the drivers just make it up as they go along.. most defo take the long route)
Entertainment - the evening entertainment was very repetitive, parrot shows, reptile shows (all wanting people to but photos of them with the animals, and fashion shows (for ladies/girls.. nothing for guys) then the usual cabaret singers and karaoke. kids were offered water polo/basketball in the afternoons and killer pool by a chap called migel who was FANTASTIC with the kids of all ages.
We made the most of our time there and met some cracking people however I would pick different accommodation if going back to Tenerife.
