“Dirty accomodation”
Reviewed 23 February 2013

This is a terrible option. We drove from bangalore to pondicherry and reached the hotel late in the evening. There was nobody at the reception. Once we checked-in, we found that the walls were stained, linens were dirty, and food was bad. We had made a reservation for 3 nights, but checked out first thing in the morning! The sole reason we stayed for the single night was it was too late to look for another hotel and we were tired.

Room Tip: Don't go there!

We booked our accommodation in this place online after looking up some reviews etc. The first surprise we had was that it is right on highway not exactly far from disturbance. Rooms were not the best, just average, not unhygienic either. Attached vegetarian restaurant served decent food.
Good things:-
1) the restaurant cooked customised food for our 2 year old
2) they hired a scooter for us to go around
3) we had forgotten some things at the hotel during checkout, we were promptly called and informed about the same. In the same call I told the person that we are getting late for our flight in chennai while we were waiting for our bus. I dont remember the person's name but be promptly called a cab and sent it to us just in time to be able to catch the flight.
Cons:-
1) not in city, not close to any of attractions.

Over all, I would say there may be better options in Pondhicherry.
But I feel little bad saying so because of personal help I received from in charge there, Suresh I think was his name.

Terrible service, no hot water and there was a grounding problem resulting in us getting electric shocks while touching the taps!! The manager was nowhere to help us out. A regrettable experience.
Money could have been spent better elsewhere...

If I start recalling my experiences at this place, people will probably stop visiting pondicherry, not just the neem tree!! We had a very "good" welcome by the electricity wires hanging in front of the gate...Inspite of booking the rooms online and paying the advance on time, we had to wait for 2-3 hours before we got rooms..and even dose were not the rooms we had booked!!!
No hot water was available and there was only person, the great Mr. Suresh who was incharge of evrything in the hotel but nvr took responsibility for anything that happened...not even for the electric shocks you get in his hotel rooms!!
Since we had gone during the cyclone, there was no power. He had promised to on the generators during night times which he promptly did..bt what he didn't tell us was that he would off it at 12 or 1 at night whn u r in deep sleep!!! so please don't bother carrying an alarm if you plan to go here.. I assure you'll nvr evr need it!!!
but please make sure you carry mosquito repellants unless ofcourse you wish to return pimple-faced!!!!
The ACs and TVs in the room are only dummy pieces which have refused to work even if supplied with power...
He offers you his vehicle on a rent basis but will demand it back by evening so please make plans accordingly if you plan to use his vehicle..
P.S: BEWARE OF Mr. Suresh's ENGLISH!!!! It'll haunt your stay there...

Room Tip: Don't take a room here at all..!!!

The worst hotel ever came across..We had gone for trip during cyclone time.No electricity the whole night it was as though we had put ourselves in trouble. As some one said no electricity the whole night .I would like to add few more points in there.worst service. we had to wait for 2 hrs to get our rooms, but then also it was some other rooms from what we had booked online.
We also experienced electric shocks in bathrooms.inspite our complaints they was no action from them.No hot water.we were told hot water would be provided but then it was not.
Request to viewers never visit this hotel,Instead go to St Jack cort resort and one more thing there is one person who says himself as manager but he never takes own decision .He always ask his Md.But then his MD never seem to visit his own hotel.May be he must be aware of the services at his own backyard. This hotel name should be banned from ads on internet booking. worst hotel ever visited.

Room Tip: please do not choose "neem tree" hotel even if it is offered free of cost!!!

Though we had options to stay at many other good places in Pondicherry, we chose this place as we dined out at their restaurant and we really enjoyed their Mexican dishes. I wouldn't call their Mexican cuisine was authentic but it tasted Mexican! We liked the hospitality and the ambiance of the restaurant. looking at the usage of bamboo with lot of other traditional things, we ended up deciding to stay at the neem tree for a night.

It was the peak of summer when we visited Pondicherry and different varieties of mango trees with huge bunches of raw mangoes are all over the neem tree. We did pick a few really fresh mangoes out of the tree. Coarsely diced, with sea salt and black pepper was the best thing we ate at the neem tree. Raw mangoes were unbelievably sweet with a hint of sourness and trust me it was better than the Mexican dishes at the neem tree.

This place needs a makeover and definitely requires few extra people to run the show. Really simple, old style rooms with good old bulky television sets was not bad but I reckon that this place is good only for a night. Ironically, the interiors and ambiance compared to that of the restaurant is super poor. There is moisture on the walls because of leakages from the air conditioner. Well, we were exhausted with all the walking we did in the day and just dozed off and checked into a different place the next day.

The restaurant a big yes and the hotel a big fat no!

It was my 5th trip to Pondicherry with my family and for our bad luck we had booked this place called Neem Tree.
On arrival at the place (Friday Oct 7th) we started realizing the bad state of the place.
The only prompt service, we received was to make us pay the balance amount before we get to realize how bad the place is. And we did that blunder :-(

The room given to us was shabby, the room was full of lizards and insects.
Bathroom was stinking and was not clean
There was a restaurant but No food !!
There is only one guy to take care of all the "guests".
Though Breakfast was included in the package, there was not even a cup of tea available.
The guy at the restaurant was excaliming " No dough for making dosa"
We had to a nearby tea shop for our breakfast.
The lady who runs this place didn't give any damn when I tried to reach out her multiple times.
Though we had planned to stay for 2 nights, we packed up after the horrible experience of one night's stay.

I am still trying to reach the lady to record a complaint, all in vain.

Stay away from this property.
