A very popular hotel, car park rammed, long wait at reception. Room quite small but cosy, but overlooking a flat roof and the aircon unit droning all night. Had to have the window open and the fan on to circulate some air as it was hot inside although not excessively warm outside. Was a bit too late to order anything to eat so settled for a snack and a pint in the bar - beer was quite pricey and the only snacks were crisps sadly. I could have found my way to the vending machine in the gym I guess.

So an early start and went down to breakfast at just after 6.30 to find that it was not open - advised that it did not open until 7.00 despite what the room brochure said. Come on guys, some of us have work to get to!! So all in all, this is a 3 not the 4 I would have given if I had missed my breakfast.

Room Tip: Try and get one not overlooking an aircon unit, although these rooms are probably given to us busine...

We booked a two day package bed breakfast and evening meal and a bottle of Wine for our anniversary 1stand 2nd of this month. The staff were all friendly and welcoming, our room was large and comfortable, but was quite a distance from reception as it is a big hotel but it was very quiet did not hear anything at all Found it excellent value for money. There was nothing to dislike about the stay. The food was first class and the service even better, room and superb attention to customer service from everyone at the hotel .

Included was also free use of the gym, pool etc.

Will definitely recommend the hotel to friends and family and will revisit, it's an excellent base to explore the peak district

Having read mixed reports about this hotel, I can honestly say this is definitely a hotel to return back too.
The rooms are clean, modern and very comfortable. The restaurant is of fine quality. My wife had a seafood fettuccine and I the steak, absolute first class! The sticky toffee pudding is the best I've had in years! The staff so helpful and extremely polite, throughout the whole hotel, from a good morning from the cleaning staff to a good night from reception.
The swimming pool and spa facilities are very clean have a "nice ambiance" feel to the surroundings, which made my wife feel at ease, and I was happy because she was happy.
The morning breakfast what a treat, again the wide variety of hot and cold food was exceptional.
I noticed the staff were young and enthusiastic to help, which made all the difference. When you ask for a pot of tea, you got a pot of tea, instead of waiting twenty minutes and get a cup of coffee as the waitress totally forgot, and shuffling her feet...
Defiantly will be returning, and certainly recommend. Genuine 4 star by any standard.
Just 1 thing I'd commend regarding a "downside" to the hotel. When you come from the motorway the signage is very poor and very easy to miss the hotel. The road lighting of an evening - well there isn't any !
Suggestions, project your warm welcome outside the hotel with easy signs to direct you to the hotel entrance. This will save frustration to the guests who are not familiar to the area.

Easy to find and very welcoming, especially after enduring endless roadworks on the M1. it was great to dive into the pool after a hard day`s work. Also a very refreshing hot tub in the small but lovely leisure complex.the room was well equipped with flat screen tv and trouser press etc.Very clean and well appointed.Included was an exceptional evening meal beautifully cooked and pleasantly served with excellent chips! the choice at breakfast was the best of the entire holiday (we stayed at 5 different hotels..).There was a good range of cooked items bacon, mushrooms blackpudding different types of egg etc etc plus a wide choice of continental baked goods and fresh fruit salads. The coffee was even really good. A great place to break a long journey and excellent value.

Room Tip: Most rooms are quiet...all well appointed

We stayed here for a family birthday, with 4 families travelling to the hotel. The location is very easy to find. The staff were extremely courteous and accommodating, and the hotel was very clean, which we all noticed. We used a special offer including dinner and a bottle of wine for the bar. It was quite a hot weekend, but all our rooms had fans, so it was fine. Rooms could be doing with updated TV sets, but we weren't there to watch TV so it didn't matter. Very impressed, definitely above average for these types of offers, and glad we chose it for our occasion.
