I always try to write a review as honestly as I can without being too critical and while it's fresh in my mind.
We travelled as a party of 6 with 2 children for a week at the beginning of May. Our 1st impressions on arrival at the hotel - wow!! The hotel and grounds are absolutely beautiful, well cared for and only a 2 min walk from the small beach.
Our rooms were lovely and big with seperate living room and a lovely bathroom, however as the hotel had only just opened for the season the rooms smelled of damp, as did the bed sheets. Our rooms were a minute walk from the entertainment room, pools and restaurant so perfect location for us.
The food was quite good but there was a number of occasions when our food was undercooked, chicken and other meats so always check your food before eating. Also there is show cooking each night, beefsteaks, pork etc, the retaurant ran out of these on a few occasions.
The staff at this hotel were fantastic and worked extremely hard.
The entertainment was a big let down, especially for a 5star hotel. The entertainment staff did all they could to involve the guests and there was a disco for the young children every night however we saw the same show 3 times in 1 week performed by the Insotel staff. Apparently during high season professional acts are...I always try to write a review as honestly as I can without being too critical and while it's fresh in my mind.

Apparently during high season professional acts are brought in, I would like to think these shows would be better than what we had.
One thing to point out, this is a huge complex, when we left there was 1,100 guests here and the hotel was on a 1/3 full, it took a while to get served at the bar so be prepared to wait a lot longer in high season.
The hotel is situated on a hill and has a few swimming pools spread out over the complex, a gym, hair salon, supermarket and a spa/massage centre. There is an indoor pool situated within the spa building which would have been really helpful on the day it rained except it's actually shut on Sundays and it costs 12.40 euros PER PERSON to use!!!! Complete dissapointment for a 5* hotel.
There is a local bus service that runs daily to Mahon town at 25 past the hour, it's only 1.60 euros per person each way and worth a look however, the Spainsh have their siesta time from 2pm until 5pm so the busses stop running during this time.
I don't think we would return based on a few let downs we found but all in all we had a good holiday.More
